Having been a patient of The Dental Center for 30years, I appreciate the personalized care we offer. Every day, I see our staff strive to provide exceptional care to our patients.
My husband Jeff and I enjoy watching our two children, Amanda and Garrett, transition from high school to college. We also have funkeeping our home landscaping under control, traveling, and golfing (although I usually have a better time driving the cart). Our two other kids, Ragdoll cats Givanni and Alice, keep our home lively.
I love to spend time with my husband, son, and dogs. We love sports and really enjoy watching our Kansas City Chiefs, Cleveland Indians, and our soccer teams. I enjoy being organized in all aspects of life.
I enjoy working with the doctors and staff at The Dental Center. Every day I challenge myself to make sure the patients are taken care of when it comes to dealing with their insurance, that they understand their treatment plans and payment options. I enjoy talking to patients not only on a business level but also on a personal one.
Even as a small child, I knew I would either be a teacher or work in a health field some day. I believe Ive found the best of both worlds with dental hygiene! I truly enjoy every opportunity I am given to educate my patients about oral health. I feel fortunate to be here at The Dental Center where I can spend so much one-on-one time with my patients. It really gives me the chance to get to know every person individually and help them achieve the best oral-health possible.
I graduated with a degree in Dental Hygiene from Kirkwood in 2015 and with a degree in Health and Human Physiology from The University of Iowa in 2016. My studies have led me to have a strong interest in the association between oral and overall health. I love when I am able to help our patients see and appreciate the connections between the two!
While many of you have been familiar with seeing Anna at the front desk over the years, she has recently transitioned to a new position, as the Scheduling Coordinator for both the Cedar Rapids and Hiawatha locations. She is happy to help facilitate coordinating your dental needs and looks forward to working with you!
I feel very blessed to have called The Dental Center my employer since 1994. I am extremely grateful for the relationships I have been able to build with our patients and staff over the years. We are so fortunate to be surrounded by so many wonderful people!
I love spending time with my husband, Jim and our son, Noah. Our favorite activities are watching movies, family game night, and hanging out in our backyard watching the days go by. I also enjoy reading and yoga.
Weknow there is much more to our patients than their teeth! Over the combined 70 years our front desk staff has had working at The Dental Center, we have grown to consider the people we care for as our patients AND our friends.
I became Certified and Registered Dental Assistant in 1995. I have worked exclusively with Dr. Haganmansince 1998and have attended many continuing education classes on esthetic dentistry and denture implants. I really enjoy working with patientsand getting to know them. It is so interesting to follow their case from beginning to end to see the great final result. We have terrific doctors and a state-of-the-art practice with the latest technology.
Sandy is a dental hygienist and an assistant here at The Dental Center. She completed her studies in both hygiene and assisting at Kirkwood. She has also completed level 1 and level 2 expanded functions in Dental Hygiene.
When Im not working, I love to hang out with my family. I have a 3-year-old daughter that keeps me busy! Im also known as the crazy dog lady. I volunteer with a local animal shelter fostering and taking care of dogs. If I have had the pleasure to work with you, there is a good chance you have heard about my two crazy pups!
I have been working at The Dental Center for over 11 years and I work with some pretty amazing people. All of the doctors are amazing and provide the best care to our patients. We all make a pretty awesome team!
Melissa has been an assistant with The Dental Center since May 2008. She completed the Dental Assisting program at Kirkwood in 2001. Melissa has also completed Expanded Functions in 2010 and a Bridge Course in 2016.
I enjoy spending time with my daughter and cheering her on in all her many activities. Our family enjoys being outside and spending time with friends and family. We like watching Iowa Hawkeye football and all activities at our hometown school.
The care for patients at The Dental Center is outstanding. Everyone here takes pride in how things are handled for our patients; from the time they call in to schedule until the time they walk out the door.

From my initial call checking if this office was in network to, most recently, helping with my husband who isn't even a patient there yet, I have nothing but amazing things to say about this office. I've lived in different states and been to about 5 other dental offices. The Dental Center provides the most thorough exam I've ever had. Every single member of the staff has been wonderful to work with. I 100% recommend The Dental Center if you're the type of person that's hesitant about the dentist too. Be sure to let them know! They truly want to help and I've never been so impressed with the care provided anywhere else. Thank you for all that you all do. You are truly appreciated

I had one of the most horrible experiences I have ever had at any doctor or even business establishment . I have not had good dental hygeine. And I have high anxiety about the dentist in general. I needed to go in for two cleanings, because my teeth were in bad shape. The first few times I had been there it was a great experience . There communication was wonderful, they were non judgemental. They made sure I was comfortable. And the lady even told me not to feel bad and she was glad I was there . That I had to start my healthy teeth journey somewhere. However this morning I had made a last minute appointment yesterday to get my second cleaning. The dental hygienist started by shaming me for not brushing which I was like yea ok shes right . However, when she started the cleaning she didn't numb anything . Everytime I jumped she didn't care. At one point she hit a nerve and I about jumped off the table started . Still didn't care. In comes the doc.... DR HINGST.... this lady sat there and hard-core shamed me . She was like idk if you want to waste your time amd money if your not even going to tale care of your teeth. At that point I began to break down and cry. She was like I can't make you brush your teeth. Just humiliating me . I said well I want to be better I will take care of them , can we just do it all in one appointment. And she was like oh no this is many appointments . She went back to the idk if you want to waste your time and money. At that point I said I was done being treated in humanly. She said ok and left. I left in tears .

Dr. Chris & staff, thank you so very much for helping me with the horrible situation I had. I had been in pain for 14 months after that dentist messed up my 12,13,14,15 teeth. Dr. Hagaman, I want to say thank you, from the first day you made sure my teeth and the care you provided were above all else. Even money, I am truly grateful and look forward to coming to you for many, many years. Thank you again, to all of you there at both Dental Centers in Hiawatha & Mt. Vernon Rd.

Dr. Haganman and Sandy have exceeded my expectations in care and professionalism. I recently began Botox injections for concerns with TMJ and frequently grinding my teeth at night. This treatment has me no longer grinding my teeth and has been life-changing. Thank you!

Love the dentists. Billing, on the other hand always gets things wrong. I always have to pay more than what my insurance actually pays. Always have a credit. X-ray's are always taken and my insurance doesn't pay for them as often as they they take them. Will keep a closer eye on them in the future

I have been going to The Dental Center for 10+ years and I have never met more friendly and welcoming people in my life. From the front desk, dental hygienists, to Chris H!!! They are all genuine people who care about your health and well-being. I can't say enough how amazing Ami W and Amy M (hygienists) are, they always go the extra mile for me everytime I have an appointment. I would recommend anyone looking for a dentist to look into The Dental Center!!

Between the estimated cost and what it actually cost. The amounts were way off. I was happy with them till I got a bill saying I owe more $$ when I called to ask about it they also informed me they no longer take my insurance. Makes me wonder if they would have let me know before my next cleaning. I highly doubt it. It's obvious by the over the top lobby and rooms that this is a place for the wealthy not the middle class. Would not recommend unless you have money to throw around.

Great service and not judgmental on state of teeth, as I had not been to the dentist since moving to Cedar Rapids four years ago. On top of this, I am a new mom with an 8 week old that I had to bring along with me. Of course, as babies do, he started getting fussy and wanted a bottle in the middle of my appt. The staff were great and doted on him while I had my teeth cleaned! They put in his pacifier when it would fall out and eventually they gave him a bottle for me! As a new mom, and having to bring your baby with you to appts while on maternity leave, you can feel pretty embarrassed when your baby starts fussing and you are unable to help them since you are in the middle of your appt. I am so happy I picked a dental practice who loves having babies around and want to willingly help you out! Highly recommend!

My fiance was supposed to have a procedure done today to get his wisdom teeth removed. We received no call the day before for pre care instructions. Only a text to confirm the appointment. The nurse or whoever we were talking to was very snappy at us when she found out he had drank water this morning meaning we had to reschedule for a different day because you can't go under if you've had water within 6 hours. Which we would've known if the dental center would've actually called to prepare their patient. The snappy nurse/assistant whatever said she gave him the pre care instructions at their consult which was 6-12 months ago at this point and no appointment was ever set up until 1-2 weeks ago so why assume the patient still knows what to do? Mistakes on our part and the dental center but the lady was just so rude talking to us explaining why we can't do the procedure today. Sorry maybe you should actually prepare your patients and call them before surgery so you don't waste our time and the surgeon's time. She could've at least not used a nasty tone.

Amazing work! I lost confidence in my smile because I was so self conscious of my teeth. The dental center staff was patient and explained everything before they did anything. They explained billing and made sure I was comfortable before they proceeded. It was a little bit since I had my teeth cleaned due to horrible past experiences at other places. I am grateful for the work the dental center staff did. Both of the offices! Jenna and Amy are amazing!!! Highly recommend!

I recently visited The Dental Center to have a crown procedure performed. I had all 8 teeth on the top completed and they turned out marvelous!! Chris Haganman and his assistant Sandy were nothing short of miracle workers. Kind, patient, and excellent at what they do, I would recommend them 100 times over for anything you need done! I especially detest the dentist and they made this experience so pleasant and the results were amazing. Thank you to everyone at The Dental Center for helping me gain my confidence back with a beautiful smile!

I LOVE THE DENTAL CENTER. Everything about it! I've been a client for 25 years. I love how thorough Drs. Hagaman, Stovie, and Hingst are. Our family has been able to experience all doctors techniques and talents. They work so well together and communicate if one of our family members needs to see the other partner. The facilities are amazing. Completely state of the art! The entire staff at both locations are SO awesome. They are kind, friendly, and helpful. I can't imagine a better experience anywhere else. So blessed to be a patient at The Dental Center. Keep up the GREAT work. ALL OF YOU!

I ha e had bad teeth for over years. Only 30 yrs old. Ive been to many different dentists and developed basically dentist ptsd because of how many bad experiences I've had. This place is like night and day difference. I was nervous during my consultation but by the end of it I wasn't anymore. Went today to actually get work done. Was terrified, when I got in and talked to them, they listen understand and make you feel 100% better! I can honestly say this place is taking my fear of dentist away! You guys are amazing!!!

In my past, I have had some very poor encounters amongst the handful of dentists I've had growing up. I also did not take my dental care seriously growing up and even went 5+ years without seeing a dentist. Needless to say I was embarrassed and needed work when I finally took this area of my health seriously. When I moved here I was dreading finding a dentist. Dr. Brad Stovie and the hygienists here at The Dental Center have blown my expectations out of the water. They truly care about you as a patient and make you as comfortable as possible. I feel very confident in their hands and that I'm getting the best care. I also feel very reassured and supported in areas I feel very embarrassed about. Things are explained to me and I feel very knowledgeable of my care from start to finish. I couldn't be happier with my experience and care here. I also really enjoy the hours of availability. They work great with my work schedule for someone who works typical day hours M-F so I dont have to use much benefit time off.

Over the past five years due to terrible pain getting novocaine, I had three of my teeth pulled while under sedation. I couldn't keep this up, so I made an appointment with Dr. Shannon and I've had the best dental experience of my life! She prescribed valium along with the nitrous oxide, which made me relax and I was able to have dental work done without any pain! They are all wonderful, kind & helpful! I won't be going anywhere else for my dental care, they are the best!

Dr. Chris saved my life and I say that sincerely. Over the course of my life I have had a lot of dental work done. To say the least all the work took a toll and left me with a smile that I hated and anxiety about the future of my teeth. I had asked dentist after dentist to help me and it was always the same answer, " well I have to do a study first " and the study never happened. I live in Chicago and a friend from CR referred me to Dr. Chris. On my very first visit he listened to my concerns and did an examination. By the time I left the office he had given me a treatment plan and I had appointments booked for the next two days. Literally , within 10 days I had a smile I was proud of again and my mouth was free of pain. I am now in segment two of the treatment plan and am delighted to say the least! If I drive from Chicago to CR (4 hours) to be under his care than you can rest assure there is no decision to be made except call and make an appointment! Great clean locations, friendly staff with a wealth of knowledge and experience. Thank you so much Dr. Chris for alleviating my stress, anxiety and at times depression in regard to my teeth. You have made a life long patient.
