A family oriented individual, skilled dentist, active youth leader, and community volunteer, Dr. Thomas Sims makes the dental experience a personal one. His 25+ years of dental experience and continued education in the dental field ensure you will receive painless, top quality care. He strives to keep up with the latest technology and bring up-to-date equipment into his beautiful dental practice. Dr. Sims is a proud member of the American Academy of Cranial and Facial Pain, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and has successfully completed education in Motor Nerve Reflex testing, Dental Sleep Medicine and Temporal Mandibular Disorders. In his practice, he provides dental treatment including crowns and bridges, composite fillings, implant dentistry, full mouth rehab, treatment of craniofacial pain, temporomandibular disorders, sleep disordered breathing, and obstructive sleep apnea.

Dr. Sims might be a familiar face to some as he is a third-generation Arizonan. He graduated from Saguaro High School and continued his education at Arizona State University. Dr. Sims then spent two years in South Africa volunteering for his church. Upon returning, he relocated to California and attended dental school at Loma Linda University. Dr. Sims is now calling the valley home, to be near his family and give care to the community.

Outside the dental office, Dr. Sims enjoys spending time with his wife, son, daughter and their families. He shares dedication to the community by volunteering his time to provide free dental work for under privileged children. In his remaining time, Dr. Sims finds relaxation boating on the lakes around the valley. Dr. Sims is truly an asset to the community.

After leaving Colorado in 1998, Kim found a new home as the office manager at the Centre for Progressive Dentistry. For the past 20 years she has brought her knowledge and compassion to our practice. She loves to interact with her dental family and our patients help everyone have a great experience. She goes above and beyond to keep our practice running smoothly. She has over 25 years in the dental industry, and has seen things evolve for the better. Kim is the proud mother of two beautiful daughters and two dogs. Her history crosses several borders. She was born in Canada, lived in England, and now calls Arizona home. Kim looks out for all of us and is an invaluable part of our team!

As our treatment coordinator, Kathleens role in at the Centre for Progressive Dentistry family is to help our patients understand their treatment needs and financial issues. She has been with the Centre for Progressive Dentistry since 1999 and has been in dentistry for even longer. She is happily married and she and her husband enjoy traveling around the world, visiting family, and spending time with their grandchildren. Her only children still at home are furry since she has three dogs Genney, Kiah, and Micco. Originally from Vietnam, Kathleen is bilingual. Her quick smile and easy laugh put our patients and our team at ease and we are lucky to have her!

Susie has been in dentistry for over 26 years and is currently working as our dental hygiene coordinator. Originally from Show Low, Susie graduated from the dental assisting program at the Bryman School in Phoenix. Susie is a texting master and does a great job of making sure we all keep up with our cleanings! If you ever get a text from her youll know shes looking out for you! Susie loves the outdoors and you can often find her hiking, kayaking, or mountain biking. The time she spends outdoors makes us envious of her tan. Her friendliness and warm smile make her an awesome addition to our team!

Our hygienist Heather has been a part of the Centre for Progressive Dentistry family since graduating from Rio Salados dental hygiene program in 2001. She has a passion for creating a positive, comfortable experience for our patients, and in our unbiased opinion, she is very good at it! She worked as a dental assistant for four years prior to finishing hygiene school and has a love for dentistry. She is happily married to her high school sweetheart, and is a mom to Aiden and McKenna. She loves to travel with her family and much of her spare time is devoted to her husband, children, and to volunteering at her kids school.

Born in Page, Mell is an Arizona native and a rock star in our hygiene department. She began working with the Centre for Progressive Dentistry in 2004 after graduating from White Mountain School for Dental Assisting in 2000. As many of our patients can attest, she is an x-ray wizard and has been certified by the Dental Assisting National Board. Family is important to Mell, whether its her work family (including patients you mean a lot to her!) or her husband and three beautiful sons. She is also close to her sisters and enjoys the time she gets to spend with them. In her free time, Mell enjoys running the mountain. She is also learning sign language with her hearing impaired son.

Michelle works as an assistant to our doctors. Her helpful and easy-going attitude puts our patients at ease and helps our doctors provide the best possible care. She joined the Centre for Progressive Dentistry team in 2013 immediately after graduating from the dental assisting program at Carrington College. She has been a valuable team member ever since. Her true passion is working in the area of chronic pain and sleep disordered breathing; and helping patients find the same relief from issues that she has personally experienced. She is bilingual and speaks Spanish and English. She married her high school sweetheart and is the mother of two beautiful children, Alex and Emily. In her free time, you will find her spending time with family and friends. If she is really lucky you will find her at her favorite vacation spot the beach!

Michele is a woman of many talents and has the ability to assist in various administrative tasks in the front office and the required expertise to sit chairside and assist our doctors. With over 30 years of experience in dentistry, you can rest assured that you are in good hands whether you need her to help with a billing question, or she is helping our doctors provide you with the quality dental care. Michele enjoys camping, hiking, and any activity that involves the beach. Her true passion is her family: her husband and two sons. She truly loves the work she does and will provide you with the best possible experience!
