Dr. Bruce Smith is a 1973 Elston High School graduate. He received his undergraduate degree from Valparaiso University in 1977, followed by his graduate degree from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 1981. That same year, he began his practice here in Michigan City.
Passionate about the community, Dr. Bruce is a Paul Harris Fellow and past president of the Michigan City Rotary Club, in which hes been an active member since 1982. He also maintains a strong focus on continuing education, striving for constant improvement. He is a graduate of both the Dawson Academy, and the Rosenthal Institute for Aesthetics.
Dr. Michael Orrico attended undergrad atLoyola University and is a proud graduate of Northwestern University Dental Schoolclass of 1995. Since graduating, he has spent more than 26 years practicing dentistry, from Chicagos west side all the way to South Bend, Indiana.
Dr. Mike is a graduate of the Misch International Implant Institute. He is also a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, a member of the American Anesthesia Association and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentists,and a graduate of the Nash Institute for Cosmetics, and a recipient of the Complete Dentistry Award from the Dawson Academy, as well as a member of the International College of Dentists, 2013.

This is the only place to go for dentistry. They are the best! So accommodating. I needed to see the dentist right away and they took me in same day, two hours later. Dr. Bruce Smith is perhaps the most wonderful dentist I have ever been to. He is so gentle and knowledgeable. I have every confidence in him to do the right thing with my teeth. I cannot emphasize enough how much I appreciate the centre for contemporary dentistry! I highly recommend that you visit them for your next visit to the dentist!

I drive from Northfield (just north of Chicago) to Michigan City because the quality of care and high caliber staff can't be matched anywhere else. They are friendly, accommodating, and care about the relationship. I highly recommend Dr. Orrico and his staff - from receptionist to Dr. Mike - they are the best!

My wife and have been going to The Centre for Contemporary Dentistry for the better part of 30yrs. Dr's Orrico and Smith are two of the best Dentists I've been to in my 55yrs. They keep you at ease anytime they meet with you, and explain everything in great detail. They always have done excellent work, and there staff is above reproach. Dr. Bruce and his staff make you feel comfortable and welcome if this is your first visit or you have been seeing this Dentist for over 30 years like I have. I wouldn't go to anyone else. Dr. Bruce explains what he is doing and checks to be sure you understand the procedure and that he is not causing you pain. This is a wonderful skilled Dentist and staff.

After years of traveling 1-1/2 hrs to the dentist I have been seeing for 20+ years (it's hard to trust another dentist), I went to Dr. Smith after recommendations from friends in the area. The care and thoroughness Dr. Smith and his staff for you and your teeth is a relief. Toni is fabulous. Sparkling clean teeth with a gentle touch! I recommend them 100%.

Excellent experience! I am a new patient. I am so impressed by the professionalism of everyone on the team. I was a little nervous about my visit as it was preparation for a crown. They carefully explained each step in the process. I did not experience any of the pain I anticipated. I am delighted to have found this office!

Dr Orrico and the entire staff are amazing. I first visited them years ago for a wisdom tooth and I immediately felt comfortable with Dr Orrico and the staff, more recently I have been seeing them about cosmetic issues that really took a blow to my confidence and Dr Orrico not only made sure that I knew exactly the process but understood it, and during each little procedure they would tell me how excited they were for me and how much it was going to change my view of myself for the better, and when it was done they were all so genuinely happy for me, and let me ask as many questions as I had. Take it from someone who has always dreaded the dentist office, they are the best!
