Dr. Joseph Bedich and his dental team in Cortland, OH offer comprehensive dental services. As the owner of The Center for Progressive Dentistry and its lead dentist, he has centered his skills on the latest, most promising treatments.
Because Dr. Bedich believes in providing his patients the best dental care available, he is constantly taking continuing education courses to improve his skills and give his patients the newest advances in dental treatment.
Dr. Joseph Bedich graduated in 1984 from Miami University, Ohio with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Zoology. Dr. Bedich went on to The Ohio State University College of Dentistry where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) Degree in 1988. After graduation, he was a resident from 1988 to 1990 in the General Practice Residency Program at Buffalo General Hospital, S.U.N.Y. Buffalo, New York where he was appointed Chief Resident in his second year.
Dr. Bedich went into private practice in 1990. Always a student looking to learn the latest cutting edge trends and techniques in dentistry, Dr. Bedich has taken over 2000 hours of continuing education in many dental disciplines that include: I.V. and Oral Sedation, Implant Dentistry, Head and Neck Pain Management, Botox Treatments, Sleep Apnea, Endodontics, and Cosmetic Dentistry.
Dr. Bedich earned Fellowship and Mastership status in the Academy of General Dentistry, Fellowship status in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, and Diplomate status in the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry. He also holds a permit to provide I.V. Sedation to patients.
Dr. Bedich married his high school sweetheart, Robin, in 1985, where they both attended Howland High School in Warren, Ohio. They have two sons, Joe and Daniel. During his time off Dr. Bedich enjoys traveling with his family and scuba diving. He is a member of the Cortland Rotary, where he was a past president. Dr. Bedich is also a lector at Blessed Sacrament Church in Warren, Ohio.
Over the last five years, Dr. Bedich has committed over two thousand hours to continuing education in implant, cosmetic, and other restorative dental care. Additionally, his training has focused on providing complete comfort during treatment, including various forms of sedation dentistry. If you are afraid of the dentist, I highly recommend you give The Center for Progressive Dentistry a chance. I am terrified of the dentist, and it had been years since I'd seen one when I made an appointment with Dr. Bedich. I was met with polite and caring staff that took my phobia very seriously. The initial exam was done expeditiously; which was HIGHLY appreciated. I was asked first if certain tools could be used during the initial exam. I never felt rushed or dismissed. Most importantly I never felt shamed for the years I neglected my teeth. Dr. Bedich and his dental assistant walked me through what needs done tooth by tooth. It was very thorough, and I never felt rushed. The Dr. and his assistant answered every question I had clearly and in terms I could easily understand. The treatment plan provided was comprehensive and clear. The cost of treatment was transparent and itemized. I received a copy of every paper I signed and looked at. I really appreciated that. Which brings me to my next point. If you don't have dental insurance, I still recommend you reach out. I'm paying out of pocket, and I feel that for the work I need done the cost is fair and reasonable! Especially for the level of care you will receive here. 10/10 I would highly recommend this office to any of my friends or family members. The only thing I regret is that I didn't call sooner. Edit: I had the fillings I needed, and I'm really blown away with the level of care I received. I have never had a dentist and their team be so understanding to my sensory processing needs and fears like here. They were patient with my needs and never made me feel like a burden or ridiculous. I HIGHLY recommend for dentalphobic people AND autistic people. I felt comfortable enough to share my autism diagnosis, and accommodations were made above and beyond what I expected. I wish every provider I went to was like Dr Bedich and his team.

I have never been to a dentist office like this one! Everyone is so friendly and reassuring. I have extreme dental anxiety. I had to get a LOT of work done, including wisdom teeth extraction. I was advised by Dr. Bedich that the IV sedation dentistry would be the best option for me. It was WONDERFUL. I don't remember a thing about my procedure. I'm healing up wonderfully and I have already scheduled my next dental cleaning (which will be the first in a LONG time). I highly recommend everyone visit Dr. Bedich and his staff

Had a procedure under sedation. I experience a lot of anxiety and the staff and doctor made me feel very comfortable. The procedure went great and follow up was awesome. Staff and doc called to check in afterwards and I'm healing nicely! Highly Recommend!

The office staff were efficient and friendly. I felt welcome and seen.... even dressed kind of bummy after a day hiking :-) I had the best experience EVER with cleaning by Courtney and exam by Dr. Bedich. Both were very gentle & effective. I avoid dental appointments in general bc my mouth typically will hurt for days afterwards. At this appt there was no excessive pressure during the cleaning or exam, and no uncomfortable stretching my lips or pulling on my mouth. They both used lighted magnifying "goggles" that enabled them to clearly see each tooth surface as well as the gum junction. There was no "catching" of my gums that leads to bleeding and soreness. This technology, combined with excellent technique, made all the difference in my comfort, and ability to actually relax in the chair. That has *never* happened for me. I will never procrastinate getting dental care again. I promise!!!

Dr. Bedich is a perfectionist with the interest of his patients a priority. Dr. Bedich is also the leader when it comes to using the most current treatments and techniques. His staff is very thorough and kind. No doubt the best dentist/office personnel in the area.

I cannot say enough great things or thank Dr. Bedich and his staff about how AWESOME they are! I had struggled for years with so many problems with my teeth. The entire staff is kind and courteous but must of all....thoughtful and extremely helpful!!! The girls go out of their way to fit me in each time I have a different issue. I would absolutely recommend this practice to anyone who is looking for TOP NOTCH CARE!!!!

My visit to Dr Bedich and his staff was nothing like other experiences I've had. Dr Bedich and his staff are gentle, patient, and educational. I was very impressed by the technology used in the office. I recommend the Office of Progressive Dentristy to all.

This was my first time visiting this dentist today. I have nothing but good things to say. The staff were so friendly and made you feel welcome right away. Courtney did my cleaning and was so nice and gentle. I met Sarah in the hallway and she was so nice and friendly which made me feel at ease. Dr. Bedich was very nice as well and so knowledgeable. I have finally found a dentist and his staff that I look forward to seeing and it's been a long time since I've said that. I highly recommend this office without hesitation.

Went to the office for the first time today. Very clean, bright and welcoming! The hygienist, Courtney, was very kind and gentle- she was amazing. Dr. Bedich was very friendly, accommodating and caring. The staff worked very well together. I am very impressed and would definitely recommend this office to anyone.

I was greeted by Sarah when entering- she gave me a mini tour- and then took her time asking me about my medical history, and was very kind and knowledgable. Dr. Bedich had an excellent, professional bedside manner, that made me feel very comfortable. He was quite thorough and even took pictures of my teeth to show me what he saw...and what needed fixed. They both knew how to handle a very nervous (with dentistry) patient. Update- I went back and received my treatment(s) with Dr Bedich and staff- wonderful work- very detailed and it will last a long time. Who do you trust with your teeth? For me- Dr Bedich and staff. I've been afraid of the dentist for my whole life, and for the past 10+ years I have simply avoided treatment and dealt with the associated pain and embarrassment. My wife found this place and insisted that I give them a try, and I couldn't be more grateful to the staff for giving me a stress free way to reduce my pain and be proud of my teeth. Sarah and Dr. Bedich make sure that you know what's coming next and there is never any pressure to do things in a way that that any comfortable. The front office staff is excellent as well, and made sure we knew what was happening financially every step of the way while being accommodating to my schedule. I won't go anywhere else, and you shouldn't either.
