Raised in Severna Park, MD, Dr. Shawn Samad is the proud son of Fred and Mary Samad, a working class couple that raised their children in a humble household. Dr. Samad grew up to be an avid sports fan. He still plays soccer regularly and is a HUGE Ravens fan! He went to college in Westminster, MD, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree with majors in Biology and Chemistry with a special focus on Physics.
He then continued his education at UMBC where he worked on a Masters degree in Biology. He then attended University of Maryland School of Dentistry where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree.

Yesterday I had emergency dental work at The Bowie Dental Group I was suffering with major pain and they were able to get me in the same day, the staff was kind and polite an absolute pleasure to interact with. Dr. V is amazing, I needed a root canal done and I must say, she did wonderful job. She was gentle and thru the entire process, I didn't have a lot of pain after the procedure and I was able to get my crown done less than 24hrs later. I will be going to BDG for all of my dental needs moving forward. They really have a GREAT TEAM in place.

I was in so much pain with my tooth I went to the dentist for help. I do understand I have to get a tooth removed and work done. Dr. Samad seen me and told me he can to everything the same day. I couldn't open my mouth for him to look at the tooth because of the swelling and he forced his way to open my mouth wide and made the pain worst. I had explained I can't afford $10,000 for a removal and implants on the same day. I asked if he can give me something to help with the pain like antibiotics or pain meds and he said no. I wasted my time going there for help. It's about money instead of the patients care. So now my face is more swallowing with a infection. I will never recommend this place!!

Bowie Dental Group is the office to visit. The staff is very welcoming and accommodating, also to mention very friendly. I was having excruciating pain on Monday and they were able to diagnose and treat my tooth the same day! I definitely recommend anyone to make an appointment with them.

I found this office after a horrible fall and needed my front tooth fixed. The young lady at the front desk was very helpful. They were able to see me right away. I was seen by Dr Hansen and he was extremely patient with me as I was very distraught post accident. I am pleased with the outcome and will be returning for regular care!

I called this place today based on the positive reviews from previous and current clients but definitely did not receive the same high-quality and kind customer service that patients claim. Currently, I am shopping around for good dental insurance, so I am paying out of pocket for my expenses at this time and when I called this establishment for a price estimate for a simple dental cleaning, I was transferred to a very rude receptionist who immediately gloated in informing me that a simple dental cleaning for a new patient would be $700 and up, which is completely outrageous. As a fellow worker in customer service, the receptionist needs more training in learning how to not only work with people but to also learn how to speak to people, as well. Thankfully, I was able to find a much more kinder and inexpensive dentist in the area.

Melissa the Dental Hygienist is fire. Her customer service is 5 star diamond. The entire staff is excellent and making going to the dentist office a great experience.

This was a gem of a find. I had a broken tooth and needed help immediately. The front desk staff, the techs, assistants, and Dr. Chin were very helpful and got my tooth fixed quickly.

Bowie Family Dentist is the best place to bring your family and friends for their dental needs. A few weeks ago I called for an emergency appointment and I was given a same day appointment. The staff front front desk to back was exceptional. They stayed past office hours to care for me as I need an immediate root canal. Dr. Samad did excellent job with the root canal. The office is clean and aseptic techniques are used by the entire staff. Lala called to check on me afterwards. Thank you all for making my experience great.
