For Dr. Thaddeus Michalski, dentistry is the ability to change the way a person feels about themselves through a change in their smile. Its a blend of science, artistry, healthcare, craftsmanship, and good decision-making. Thats why Dr. Michalski has invested so much in his post-graduate training and continuing education, which give him comprehensive expertise in general, restorative, and cosmetic dentistry.

Dr. Michalski values creating long-term relationships with his patients, often treating entire families and watching them grow over the years. He believes that preventative care is key. That means he focuses on protecting and preserving your teeth, so you need as little dental work as possible.

Dr. Michalski is a native of the Harford area, having grown up in South Windsor, Connecticut. When he graduated from high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. After four years traveling the world on active duty, Dr. Michalski began his education at the University of Connecticut and then continued at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine.

After graduating, he completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the University of Florida College of Dentistry. He has been practicing dentistry since 2001 and since that time has undertaken extensive advanced training.

Dr. Michalskis interests include restorative and cosmetic dentistry. He knows that for patients in need of extensive rehabilitative dental work, he can rebuild their smiles and make their everyday lives a bit better. He also understands that for some patients, a past bad dental experience has put them off coming in when they need care. He enjoys proving that dental treatment can be done with genuine empathy and comfort, as well as skill and thoughtful execution.

There is one best way to find success, happiness and fulfillment in dentistrylearning how to serve our patients with such expertise that we are able to predictably solve their problems. Peter E. Dawson D.D.S.

Dr. Michalski lives with his wife and two little girls in the Hartford area, where they are active members of their church and community. For fun, the Michalskis like exploring new adventures as well as spending warm days at the beach or cooking out with friends and family. Dr. Michalski is an outdoor enthusiast who spends his free time biking, hiking, camping, swimming, skiing, snowmobiling, and riding his motorcycle.

When I first went into practice on my own, an office that I acquired from a dentist that unexpectedly retired, there was quite a bit of updating and remodeling that was needed behind the scenes. Fortunately, my dad was a very experienced carpenter and skilled craftsman. We spent nights and weekends upgrading and rebuilding cabinets, counters, and the framework of the office.

One area of the office that took some time was the small sterilization room, in which we installed a custom-sized and designed countertop that needed extensive adjustment to fit the room. We finally got it right, and just before we were to set it in place, my father directed me to smooth out the underside brackets and supports where we adjusted, so they were finished nicely and were not left rough and bumpy. At this point, Im thinking, This fits well and nobody is going to see under hereever! And thats exactly what I reminded my dad, as I was ready to put this project to rest.

He paused and reminded me that I would see under there, and I would know the job I did, and asked if this is how I wanted to leave it even if, in fact, nobody else ever saw it. His point was clearly made, and while my father is gone, it continues to stick with me from that day, well over 20 years ago. We all have a choice on the standards we set for ourselves and our work, regardless of our profession, and taking pride in our work doesnt just begin when others can see it. To this day, I am forever grateful that he reminded me of this, and how it has influenced the procedures I perform daily for my patients.
