For many years now, weve also collaborated with the Helen Edwards Early Childhood Center to ensure that children receive needed dental checks. In addition, we often go to local schools to present about oral care in health classes and support contributions for oral hygiene kits donated to those in need overseas. We are always looking for other ways to be involved in meaningful organizations, events, and causes in our local community!
Texas Dentistry had very humble beginnings that included Dr. Erik Harrington, his trusty 1989 Ram Charger, and some long, enlightening drives. Years ago, he visited various dental offices in small towns and communities throughout Texas to provide specialty treatments for patients in need. It was clear that these underserved areas needed high-quality oral healthcare, inspiring the idea of Texas Dentistry!
Above all else, Dr. Harrington wanted to provide reliable and affordable dental care that is accessible to families and individuals in the rural and suburban areas outside of Dallas and help them keep their smiles happy and healthy. Today, Texas Dentistry has convenient dental offices in Mesquite, Terrell, and Kaufman, reaching more people and making his goals a reality.
Dr. DeLeon has enjoyed going the dentists office ever since she was a little kid she always found the environment to be very calm and relaxing! While in college, she shadowed a dentist who encouraged her to consider becoming a dentist; there was a lack of minority and female dentists in the field who could help bridge the gap for similar patient populations. This discussion inspired her to start the necessary schooling, and all these years later, shes very happy with her decision. Her family, which includes a long line of educators, also supported her every step of the way with a lot of enthusiasm.
Dr. DeLeon completed her undergraduate degree at Southwestern University before moving onto Texas A&M University College of Dentistry, where she achieved her doctorate. She was also a post-baccalaureate fellow. Today, she is certified in both Invisalign and Level 1 Minimal Sedation while continuing to pursue advanced training on a routine basis. Staying up-to-date with the newest techniques in dentistry and expanding her knowledge are important priorities for her!
When Dr. DeLeon has spare time, her favorite hobbies include enjoying nature on long hiking trails, going on runs, and doing Pilates. She is also very passionate about tennis and has even played at the collegiate level before.
