Dr. Mireya Imitola grew up in Barranquilla, Colombia where she did her Doctorate of Dental Surgery at Fundacin Universitaria San Martin. Dr. Imitola earned her certification in Prosthodontics from the University of Puerto Rico School of Dental Medicine. She has 15 years of experience in both hospital and private practice settings and received certificate in Prosthodontics from the University of Puerto Rico .
Dr. Imitola devoted her career to providing the highest quality of evidence-based dentistry to her patients. Her work includes helping individuals with oral cancer, crowns, veneers, whitening, dental implants, dentures and All on 4. She believes the most rewarding aspects of her profession as a Prosthodontist, is the opportunity to help others live life with more confidence and give them a beautiful smile.
Dr. Bruce Barbash chose to specialize in Prosthodonticsbecause it provides the opportunity to solve challenging dental problems. He is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University Dental School in Cleveland, Ohio. Upon graduation, he practiced General Dentistry in Ft. Worth, Texas for three years. During that time, he was profoundly influenced by the struggles of completely edentulous (no teeth) and partially edentulous (some teeth) patients to find treatment that restored both complete oral function and facial appearance. This led him to a residency in Prosthodontics and a fellowship in Maxillofacial Prosthetics at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
Upon completion, he joined the faculty at the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston as an assistant professor in the Fixed Prosthodontic department. When Dr. Barbash moved back to Dallas, he established a private specialty practice limited to the following treatments: dental implants, restorative/cosmetic, dentures and dental oncology.
Dr. Barbash has always had a strong interest in academics and continuing education. In 1987, he cofounded the dental implant program at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center with Dr. Richard Finn. For nine years, he was the Director of Prosthodontics and Chairman of the Dental Implant Program at the Dallas Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. During that time he was involved in the training of residents in both Prosthodontics and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the surgical, restorative, and laboratory phases of implant dentistry. He also participated as a clinician and lecturer with the Head and Neck Cancer programs at both the University of Texas Southwestern Medical center and the Dallas Veterans Administration Medical Center. Currently, Dr. Barbash maintains a full time private practice and serves as a clinical assistant professor at both the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and TAMU Baylor College of Dentistry. Additionally, he is a member of several of the major head and neck cancer treatment teams in the metroplex.
Dr. Barbash has maintained his board certification status with the American Board of Prosthodontics. He takes continuing education courses to remain on the leading edge of his field. He is an innovator who has been involved in clinical advances in implant dentistry. He regularly shares his knowledge with other dentists and physicians as a lecturer for continuing education programs.
