With a Dental Degree from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry and Bachelors of Science in Respiratory Therapy from Creighton University, Dr. Young is uniquely qualified not only to provide expert dental care but also to screen for and identify potential airway-related issues, such as snoring and teeth grinding. In fact, Dr. Young may be the only dentist on the island with these unique skills. Airway-related issues can be precursors to future health concerns such as high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and more. Thats why our office takes the time to screen for these issues because your health is our top priority.
Signs such as teeth grinding, high blood pressure, and/or snoringto name just a fewtogether with your medical history can point to the presence of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) or upper airway resistance syndrome (UARS). If left undiagnosed, OSA and UARS have been directly connected to larger health concerns such as high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, stroke, dementia, depression, daytime fatigue, and more.
If an airway-related issue is present, we can work collaboratively with your physician and provide referrals to our growing network of medical specialists. I was having dinner and bit on something hard. A wave of electric pain shot through my jaw. I spoke to Dr Young that Friday, and he told me to come in next day, on a Saturday morning. He x-rayed and found the tooth had split. He took a 3-d video of the broken tooth, then drilled it out. No pain at all and I was prepared for the worst. He sent the video to a computer controlled robot who carved a new tooth in 15 minutes. He then glued the new tooth into the hole where the cracked tooth had been. I spent over 4 hours at his office that Saturday morning. Went in not knowing what was wrong. Came out with a new tooth. No pain now at all. I've never experienced anyone who cares as much, and who places so much effort and expertise into his patients. He's a genius and I'm fortunate to have met him. He's a gift to the patients of Hawaii. Amazing

Dr Young, Michelle, Brandon and the entire team are very knowledgeable and kind. We started seeing Dr Young to address the kiddo's sleep apnea (it seemed better than a tonsilectomy). We're on tray 2 and the upper palate seems to be expanding (that was the plan) and wearing the myobrace trainers has helped with mouth breathing, grinding teeth, tongue placement and overall straighter teeth. So far, so good!

I have been a patient of Dr. Young since late 2016 and the service and dentistry advice have been nothing but the best. From the recommendations to the superior dental cleanings, Dr. Young and staff are by far some of the best experiences I have had in the dentist seat. Add to that, Dr. Young's passion, knowledge, and background in explaining mouth breathing and the effects on the teeth and facial structure are amazing. I am a walking testimony of the before and after of the Myobrace system used by an adult in their 40's who experienced a complete realignment of the teeth and facial reconstruction from a simple and cost effective Myobrace teeth alignment system. It has improved my life, my smile, and my endurance in running and daily exercise. Yes, all this from a visit to the dentist. Amazing right? Thank you Dr. Young!

I had the best experience at this office! Everyone is so welcoming and the hygienist who cleaned my teeth was very thorough and gentle. Definitely would recommend Dr. Young for dental care.

Dr. Young went above and beyond in working with our son, who has been struggling with undiagnosed respiratory issues. He's not only very knowledgeable but friendly and works well with children. I feel thankful to be working with a doctor with such extensive knowledge in his field.

I was diagnosed with sleep apnea after testing at the hospital. But I was not able to adjust to the CPAP. My doctor then told me about the alternative which was the MAD. I would have to see a dentist. I thought that might work for me. He referred me to Dr. Young. I am so happy he did. Dr. Young is so kind and caring. He explains everything from the beginning. I was comfortable with him from the get go. The braces have helped me so much that my anxiety problems are almost gone. Chest pain have disappeared. I feel like a normal person. Also, the girls in the front greet you when you enter and wish you well when you leave. Thank you, Dr. Young
