Dental insurance is one of many ways to pay for dental treatment, but it is not the only way. Many of our patients pay for their treatment with card, cash or check. In addition, ourIn-Office Benefits Planis a very popular alternative to traditional dental insurance.
Our doctors are in-network PPO providers for most major dental insurance plans. If we are not in-network with your dental insurance, we will file on your behalf as a courtesy. Unfortunately, we are not HMO or TennCare providers at the moment.
Tennessee Family Dentals dental team consists of 20+ hygienists, assistants, front office administrators, dental & medical insurance experts & dentists with decades of experience. Our multiple locations allows us to see any patient with a dental emergency 6 days a week regardless of our availability. No one loves going to the dentist but our team makes it as comfortable and efficient for the patient as possible.
Upon receiving his Doctor of Medical Dentistry from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2012, Dr. ONeill moved to Nashville to begin his dental career and founded Tennessee Family Dental. He is happily married to his wife, Shaylee, a local singer-songwriter in Nashville. In his spare time, Dr. ONeill enjoys traveling and learning about different cultures throughout the world. Hes traveled to over 40 different countries and is actively involved in global mission work. Currently, Dr. ONeill sees patients at theGreen Hills location.
Ashley J. Humphrey, D.D.S. is from Dallas, TX but has made The Music City her home. Before joining the Tennessee Family Dental Group, Dr. Humphrey served as a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Oral Diagnostic Sciences at Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry.
Dr. Humphrey attended Oakwood University in Huntsville, AL earning a B.S. degree in Biochemistry. After completing her B.S. degree she attended Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry obtaining a D.D.S. degree. She then completed a General Practice Residency at The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH. After completing residency, she moved to Los Angeles, CA, and practiced for several years before deciding to return to Nashville.
Dr. Humphrey is an active member of the community participating in various volunteer events locally and internationally. She is a member of the Capitol City Dental Society, MMC Metropolitan Nashville Chapter Alumni Association, and Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society. Dr. Humphrey is a newlywed to DaMarrus Miller, and they have a dog named Drizzy. In her free time she enjoys traveling, Pilates, reading, and shopping.

I had an absolutely AMAZING experience with Dr. Ashley and her team! Came in with a chipped front tooth for a consultation and walked out with a heavy top lip (due to numbing) and the ability to smile without looking like a scarecrow coming out of Halloween. Thanksgiving will be a lot of smiles and good eating thanks to Tennessee Family Dental!

Although my time in the chair was long, I can only praise everyone working at this office. Very up to date with technology and so very nice. Always making sure I was comfortable, being very honest regarding my procedure, being different than I originally came for. They took time today to make the process shorter. Can't say enough nice things about this office. Thank you for treating me as an important person and explaining everything along the way. See you in 2 weeks and regular appointments after that.

Brought my 11 year old son here for the first time since we moved to the area. He absolutely loved Mrs. Rachel who done his cleaning and he has already said he wants to go back and see her. Dr. Humphrey was very thorough with his exam and treatment plan.

My daughter was having pain so I took her to see Dr Humphrey. She was awesome with her, very thorough and kind. My daughter has high anxiety when it comes to going to the dentist. Dr Humphrey made her feel very comfortable:) we will definitely continue coming here! I highly recommend!!!

Please please get a second opinion before you have any work done here. The office manger and the front desk person continue to blame the dental hygienist for inputting codes and teeth wrong. Tooth number 15 was extracted last year and on treatment plan needed a filling. The prices went up over 600 dollars due to "Douglas" inputting it wrong. The dentist is very unprofessional and came running out saying she pulled two teeth instead of one for a patient. Who does that . Also so concerned about paying the extra $500 before they started as a filling turned into a crown. Had to pay prior to getting it done.

Dr. Humphreys diagnosed me with 5 cavities, I got a second opinion because I was very skeptical based on the questions I asked. The other doc strongly disagreed with two, said two were imperfections in the filling that didn't need redoing, and that one was a slight demineralization of the enamel. I had zero actual cavities. It's sad that we have to protect ourselves from the people that are supposed to be caring for us, but this is the world we live in. The assistant did do a great job of cleaning my teeth, but I would strongly recommend going elsewhere for your actual examination.

Nothing but good to say! The team here is so sweet and knowledgeable. Checking in mid procedure to make sure I was still feeling okay, as I told the ladies I was pretty anxious. They make you feel safe and in good hands. 10/10

Been going here for years. Scheduled my follow up appointment at my last office visit (6 months ago). the office decided it was gonna be closed on my appointment day 4/22. But instead of calling me to reschedule due to the inconvenience & so we could get in sooner. I received a text on 4/19 stating I needed to call & reschedule like I hadn't already taken off from work. Very poor customer service. Who does that?

I highly recommend this dentist office to anyone with some sort of anxiety due to being at the dentist. They are so sweet and make you feel safe. They tell you exactly what they are doing and make sure you are feeling okay in between dental work. They offer different types of helpers such as neck pillows, weighted blanket, and allow you to pick your own music. Micaela was the one who did my cleaning and she is amazing. Highly highly recommend to everyone.

I am no longer a patient here because I moved out of state... (went to the Brentwood location) but I loved all of the dentists here and one of the dental hygienist in particular (wish I could remember her name). I'm someone who naturally has weaker teeth, so I am always needing dental care. The dentist here and everyone else I've dealt with here have always been so accommodating, understanding, and judgement free. I highly suggest them if you are someone anxious about the dentist or your teeth. If I lived in state I would definitely be a patient again!

I've been going here for my dental needs for over 3 years now. They're professional and personable. My experience with Invisalign with them went smoothly even during the middle of the initial lockdowns, and other routine work is always well done. Great team, definitely recommend them.
