I am a New Jersey native who grew up right here in Bergen County. My family and I are avid travelers, and if we are not at the office, then you can usually find us on some adventure. Whether its skiing on the slopes or hiking in parks, we enjoy staying active.
Giving back to the world around us is something we also take very seriously. I personally have been on dental mission trips like the one I took to Costa Rica, where I was able to provide dental care to those without access to it. I have volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, where I was able to help build homes forfamilies less fortunate than mine.

I have been working in the dental field for 13 years and practicing as a Registered Dental Hygienist for almost 6 years now. In addition to being an RDH I also have my Masters Degree in Biomedical Sciences with a focus on Oral Biology. It is my passion to educate my patients on their oral health and make sure they understand their individual needs as well as what they will need to accomplish outstanding oral health. During daily practice I find myself working side by side with my patients and their doctors creating healthy and proud smiles. I also attend continuing education courses regularly to stay up to date on all the latest developments in the dental field.
In my spare time, I enjoy various seasonal sports and activities accompanied by great friends and my wonderful husband. Also I have a great love for my Mini Bull Terrier, Sophie and enjoy taking her on hikes.
My main goal is to help both the patient and the doctor work together so that each and every patient can achieve the best dental health possible. I work alongside our doctors, and explain to our patients the steps of any treatment they may need. Our team is made up of a close-knit group, and they really feel more like family to me than coworkers. I feel very fortunate to spend my days with them!
I have been a Dental Assistant for 10 years and pursued an education in the field since my personal experience in the dental chair. My desire is to educate our patients about their oral health and all the great new innovative techniques used at Tenafly Dental Spa. I thoroughly enjoy working chairside with the doctors and enjoy making patients feel at ease during their visit with us.

Our dental offices offer the latest technological advances in dentistry. We only utilize digital radiography (x-rays), which means we use a sensor to take the radiographs. This means that the image is generated in seconds as opposed to the 15-20 minutes it traditionally takes with dental film. Not only can the images be manipulated and enhanced on the computer, but whole process reduces a patients exposure to radiation by more than 90%.
As we all know not every patient can take traditional radiographs, whether it is because of limited jaw opening or a gagging reflex, so we have invested in a Panoramic radiograph machine. This machine takes the x-ray of the whole mouth in a single pass and allows us to diagnosis and evaluate the entire oral cavity with zero discomfort.
One of the main concerns patients have is that they truly dislike the sound of traditional dental drills. We appreciate these concerns and have outfitted our dental chairs with electric drills that operate with almost no sound. Our patients continuously comment on the difference in the sound and how it makes their dental experience much more enjoyable.
We have numerous patients with dental phobias and a general anxiety about visiting the dentist. We pride ourselves on catering to those patients and we provide Nitrous Oxide Sedation. Nitrous oxide, sometimes called laughing gas, is a safe and effective anti-anxiety agent that is mixed with oxygen and inhaled through a small mask that fits over a patients nose. This sedative agent greatly reduces anxiety and stress associated with dental treatment.
Our patients are always asking for more pain-free alternative treatments and we have answered the call with our Laser dentistry. We have a dental laser system that is approved by the FDA for hard and soft tissue procedures. These new lasers allow us in certain circumstances to complete traditional dental procedures in a virtually painless environment.

I paid cash as part of their dental plan for 2 cleanings, and xrays a year. I went in for my 2nd cleaning on that plan that should have been covered by cash, this was prior to me having dental insurance. I went in for a visit in March, or April for a problem I was having w/one of my teeth, apparently my insurance only covered the xray, and I had to pay cash for the procedure that's how they got my insurance info. I went in a couple weeks ago for my cleaning which the cash on my file should have covered. They kept my cash, and I received an invoice today where they also, charged my insurance for that visit. Idk but, that sounds like fraud to me. I had a text exchange w/the office staff about this subject when I got insurance, and they told me they would not, refund my money, and said they could charge my insurance as well if I wanted. Of course i said, no. What do I get out of them getting paid twice? They did it anyway. At the time I thought about not going back there but, I've been going to Dr Julia for years, and I respect her so, I know she has nothing to do with this but, unfortunately after this I will be looking for another dentist.

I am actually horrified of dentist. But thanks to Julia Igdalev I am now able to visit the dentist and actually enjoy my visit. She's an expert putting injections. She has a little trick she does entertaining you and before you realize it, she's injecting your gums several places and you didn't feel it. I have also had extractions by her. The extractions were clean and very quick. She's extremely patient and understanding. The place is spotless and the staff is amazing. Everyone is friendly and caring. All procedures and prices are explained in full details. No surprises. If you're looking for a modern immaculate place with top of the line equipment and service, THIS is the place

Today was my first visit and I have found my forever dentist office. Everyone there was kind respectful knowledgeable courteous. All new technology, ez-x-rays done in office, the dental assistant knew her stuff and made me feel extra comfortable. Every step of the way, she informed me of what was being done. Dr. Nathan was so gentle in his touch, I felt nothing he explained what was needed and going to happen. Alina printed up everything that need to be done, how much my insurance covers and what my OOP will be. Dental Spa has made my experience with them totally worth while. I now look forward to making dental appointments, knowing that I will not walk out with a sore mouth and no surprise bills.

I want everyone to know that i'm a retired dentist, and extremely picky. There is no place I would rather go for my dental work. The hygienist Julia was so gentle and amazing, the office is so clean and modern, and the entire staff is beyond warm and welcoming. There was no waiting, and my entire family of six was in and out with cleanings for the whole family, and 5 painless filling in 2 of my children. If you are a new patient deciding where to go, this is the place for you! They will take great care of you here. Look no further!

I was greeted by Alina, she was very nice and professional, then I was treated by dental hygienist Rachel, and she did a fantastic job, the team perfume the X~Ray very professional then I saw Dr, Nathan and explained to my my procedures that coming up, I was very happy and impressed by the overall experience.

If anyone out there is looking for a dentist please go to Tenafly Dental Spa. I had a root canal done yesterday and I didn't have to take any pain killer after the procedure. This dentist was so calm and patient during the process that all my fear and nervousness was gone before he was finished. Had three root canals in the past and this was by far the best dental experience. His assistant was great and the staff made you feel very comfortable and so I would highly recommend Tenafly Dental Spa to anyone out there who's looking for a dentist.
