Dr. Dan DeRosa was raised in upstate New York where he grew up learning the dental field from his father, spending many hours at this fathers office during his summer breaks. Dr. Dan completed his undergraduate degree at Juniata College, where he also met his wife, Chrissy. They currently reside in Douglassville, PA with their two children, Avery and Sydney, and 2 cats.
Upon graduation Dr. Dan worked for various corporations and private practices, but his dream has always been to have his own office. This dream came to fruition in May 2018 when Dr. Dan took over Temple Family Dentistry. He has been working hard to make this practice his own while continuing to provide the high quality care that patients have come to expect over the years. Dr. Dan continues his learning through continuing education courses on topics from oral pathology to root canals to implants.
When Dr. Dan is not in the office, you can often find him out on the golf course, enjoying some family time, or tweaking a recipe in the kitchen. Other hobbies include brewing beer, watching whatever sport is in season, or doing some computer programming.
Michon Koenig is one of the dental hygienists at Temple Family Dentistry. She is a Berks County native and a Governor Mifflin Grad. She attended Northampton Community College for Dental Hygiene and graduated with an associate degree in science. Michon has over 30 years experience in a general dentistry practice. She is married and a mom of two boys and three cats. When Michon is not working she likes to listen to music, shop, volunteer, garden and travel, she would love to travel the world. She is a good listener and enjoys making people smile. Michons goal is to seek out joy in every day!
Karen Hand RDH has been a hygienist for a little over 30 years now and hasnt looked back since. She knew she wanted to go into dentistry the day she got braces, back in 1983. Karen would always ask for a mirror to see what they were doing to her teeth. She was enamored with the process. She was born and raised in Allentown PA and moved to Sinking Spring 15 years ago. Karen is married to her high school sweetheart, Evan, going on 30 years. They are raising 2 daughters, ages 16 and 21, and they have a dog named Loki. Karen is very passionate about fitness. She loves to take HIT, boot camp and boxing classes and hikes with her dog.
My name is Rikermy, but I go by Riky. I was born in the Dominican Republic but was raised in NY. I am the youngest of 8 children . I have a 18 year old son who is attending Kutztown University and a 15 year year old daughter who is in a freshman in high school . I have over 25 years of dental experience. I believe that my gentle touch and friendly chair side manner help patients feel more comfortable and relaxed during their visit . My main goal as a Dental Assistant is to help you maintain and achieve a beautiful and healthy smile . I enjoy cooking, singing and spending time with family. Dr. Dan is the best!!!! His whole staff actually are great as well! They are so welcoming and you feel like you're part of the family. This is the best dentist I have had in a very long time. How do you fall asleep when a dentist is doing work? I do hahaha. His assistant Ricky and him are awesome together I'm telling you if you need a new dentist go see doctor Dan because he is the man!

I have been going here for over seven years. The staff is top notch. Karen the hygienist is the total package - knowledgeable, detail oriented, and fun to work with. The back office staff remove any friction in the system. I recently changed insurances, they took care of all the red tape and annoyances which come with switching insurers. Dr. Dan knows what he is doing and was very accommodating and skilled when I needed some non-cleaning work done. Highly recommended!

I must give Dr. Derosa an A+ on the procedure I had done yesterday. He was excellent with the needle and with the extraction, he also made sure everything was OK before I left. He explained everything and made me feel comfortable. He also called me at home later in the evening to make sure all was well. I am very happy with the experience.

I have to say the hole team from when you first come in till you leave, are very smooth. They have a great team and they work well together. Everyone plays there part and does great at there positions. They are very helpful and just different. I honestly never been in a dentist office like this. Very smooth, friendly and helpful.

Best Dentistry in Reading! The name says it all, they treat you like family. Ricki, Karen, Deb and Dr Dan are great at what they do. All are caring and extremely knowledgeable in Dentistry. Dr Dan goes above and beyond when responding to emergency situations. Very grateful for Temple Family Dentistry!

I've been going to Temple Family Dentistry for years. Dr. Dan and Karen, the hygienist that I see, are always so nice and personable. The receptionist, other hygienist, and the assistant are also all wonderful staff! Great family dentist office!

Had a tremendously positive experience with Dan and staff. Scheduling appointments was super easy, the cleaning and extraction procedures were thorough, straightforward, and brief. The staff worked to minimize discomfort both during and afterwards. I look forward to returning for my next appointments.

First time to the dentist in I dont know how long and it was the best experience I've had then any other I been to! Excellent and Courteous care; They also have an affordable dental plan for those who don't have dental insurance. Thanks to all staff for being so friendly and going step by step with me!

I have been a patient of Temple Family Dentistry for many years, and each time there is a new dentist, I always worry. Dr. Dan is truly a great dentist. He is very skilled and also has a great personality. Also extra kudos to my dental hygienists, Michon, who I have been working with for many years as well, she is a true asset to their team!

Very sweet lady Debbie answered my call on the first ring and offered me a last minute appointment. I was able to be seen with my dental emergency right before they closed. I was so very impressed by how kind and helpful everyone was right before they should've been getting ready to close for the day. I came home and bragged so much to my husband about my experience we will be making this our family dentist. 10 stars all the way around

Wish I could give a review based on my experience with the dentist, but I could not even get them to return my call. I left a message during business hours to schedule a new patient appointment and nothing. I guess they don't need the business.

This was my first time at this dentist. Everyone was welcoming and kind. Karen did a great job walking me through the steps of the cleaning and X-rays. 10/10 would recommend!

Absolutely love this Dental Team. Always treated kindly! Would highly recommend Dr. Dan and staff. I live an hour north of Temple and will travel the hour rather than change dentists. That says it all!

I am more than pleased with this practice. The service is excellent! The hygienist dedicates the necessary time to each to her job appropriately. I have been able to perceive the honesty and professionalism not only from the dentist but also from his staff. The office is always clean and organized. The receptionist is friendly and very professional.

I love this dentist office, we have been coming here for years. Unfortunately we are going to have to move on as they decided not to participate with Delta Dental. We are sad to go, but not going through the hassle of trying to get refunded.
