I started taking 3 of my children to Dr. Almasi shortly after she opened the office in Rancho Mirage. All my kids have been seeing a pediatric dentist since they were toddlers. My son who is now a teen and doesn't talk much let me know when we left how impressed he was with the staff (without me asking!) Dr. Almasi has always been extremely patient and kind to my children.

I absolutely love Teddy Dental . I meant to post this review a while ago, but never the less I highly recommend teddy dental !! I work directly across the way at Eisenhower , so not only is it convenient, but it's awesome for me . My first visit was awesome , a little bit of a wait , but that's expected inside a dr office . The assistants were very friendly , very informative just like the Dr . The staff is all women , including the two Dr's there , which I LOVED !! My daughter wasn't too sure at first , because it was her first ever dental visit , but she managed to still let the Dr do her needed exams to ensure my daughters teeth were where they needed to be . I am a BLACK MOM & I seen a previous post where a black mother had issues . If you are reading this and also a black parent , don't be discouraged by what another person says because you definitely don't know to what degree they didn't follow simple guidelines. I am from Los Angeles & I can honestly say that this is the most comfortable I've been at a dental office . If I could have services here I would !!

My black son was treated with great prejudice. I went there today to get my son's teeth cared for, the dentist denied us service. I ask to be in room with him to comfort him while he is with 2 strangers who are going to cause him pain. The Dr told me "No". After she denied services she referred my 9 year old son, I repeat my 9 year old son to an Adult Dentist. Kids being afraid of the dentist is normal. Telling me to take my 9 year old to an Adult Dentist to be sedated, a dangerous practice, to have a cavities fixed is not. I watched at least 6 kids come and go before us, mine you we were there before every single one of them. Then the only black person there gets denied service. Lastly, the referral was given to me on a post it note. Since when do Drs provide referrals on Post It Notes.

Great dental office to take my daughter. The staff is very friendly, they focus solely to the child's needs and make my daughter feel safe. Dr. Almasi was very gentle, really care about my daughter and try everything to make her comfortable. They truly care about their patients. Will definitely be going back, and have recommended this dental office to all my friends and family.

tl;dr Teddy Dental planned to put crowns on my 6 year olds teeth even though he has no cavities. I brought my 6 year old in as a new patient and was told he needed dental crowns put on at least 4 of his molars (despite not getting any x rays and his exam feeling rushed and not at all thorough). I was visibly upset at this news. Holding back tears as they told me what the procedure would be like and that I would need to pay out of pocket for the the medication. I booked the appointment for his treatment that day and left a cash deposit to hold the appointment spot as I was told appointment spots fill up fast and he needed the work done immediately. After taking some time to talk with my husband and some family members about our dentist visit we decided it was a good idea to get a second opinion, just in case. I called Teddy Dental to cancel his appointment for treatment and ask for our deposit back explaining that we wanted a second opinion just in case before moving forward with any treatment. The woman I spoke with on the phone urged me to keep the appointment saying that Dr. Andis chooses the most extreme form of treatment to protect my kids teeth from future decay and that they recommend I keep the appointment. But that if I really felt I needed to cancel I could do so and told me to stop by their office to get my refund for the cash deposit I gave them. When I arrived at their office I was asked to speak the person in charge of billing. She took me to a closed room where she urged me yet again to keep with their treatment plan and questioned me as to why I felt the need to get a second opinion. When I explained that I felt like my sons examination was rushed and not thorough and that I simply wanted another doctors thoughts she got defensive and seemed upset. I found a dentist for the second opinion a bit out of our area but with good reviews so I booked an appointment and took my child for a second look. The second doctor we saw took x rays and gave a thorough examination and reported that my son has NO cavities. NONE whatsoever. So then why did Teddy Dental tell me I absolutely needed to book an appointment immediately for multiple crowns to be put on my child's teeth?? We're they planning to put crowns on his teeth as a preventative measure? For any future cavities he might get? Is it normal to put children and parents through traumatic dental work (crowns!) when the child's teeth have zero cavities in them?? Parents and caregivers please don't hesitate to seek other doctors opinions especially when it comes to your child's health!!! Second, third, and fourth opinions should be covered by your insurance!

I am in tears from sheer happiness right now. The last time Benjamin went to the dentist he came out traumatized. Today we found a new dentist and they are AMAZING. I can't recommend them enough. From the initial call, it was immediately clear customer service is an important part of this location. Then when we arrived we were greeted like family by none other than the dentist herself. As we sat in the waiting room we observed the positive interactions of the staff. Then they called the kids back and Ben was invited to watch his siblings before his turn to make him comfortable. The dentist included him, showing him how to work the chair, light and what each tool did. She showed him about X-rays and let him check out his sisters. When he got his x-ray's there were no tears and they were easy and painless. Then they showered praise and love on him they addressed concerns on the kid's teeth with love, compassion, and positivity. Showing me the why behind everything. I have never experienced this type of dentistry in my life. And guess what they work with Medi-Cal families!!!!! Don't settle for mediocre for your babies go to Teddy Children's Dental, you won't regret it.

Wow! I am so thankful we found this place. The entire staff made my daughter feel like she was so special. They were gentle and kind and made her feel okay asking questions or needing them to take a break. This is absolutely the best children's dentist around.

We LOVED visiting Teddy Children's Dental! We recommend Teddy's to all of our family and friends. Dr. Almasi and her staff are so kind! Our kids had such a fun time on their first visit and they made it very special. The facilities were clean and modern. We don't think there is a better dentist office in the valley then Teddys! Our kids are excited to go back to the dentist, when does that ever happen?!

Our daughter chose Dr. Almasi and I am so thankful she did! What a wonderful experience. The staff, the office, the doctor, her mom! Dr. Almasi helped our fearful 7 year old feel confident, informed, and safe. We made another appt. for our older daughter and I just wish she saw adults because I would sign up too! Thank you Dr. Almasi and staff!

Today was my sons first appointment. Everyone in the office was EXTREMELY KIND AND GENTLE. My son was very worried about the whole experience but these ladies were absolutely the BEST! The Dr. Almasi was so AMAZING and so KNOWLEDGEABLE. If you're looking for a calm place for your child. I highly recommend this office!

After reading gall the great reviews I had high hopes for this office. What a disappointment. Staff left my family with a 1 year old and 3 year old waiting for 40 minutes while they attempted to verify our insurance. This all could have been handled long before we got there and furthermore we could have just paid cash and dealt with the insurance piece later. At no time were we informed that we were being bypassed by other patients whose appointments were after ours. We got our first call from the remote business office regarding our insurance at 10:25 am...mind you our appointment was at 10:00 and no indication that we would have to wait was ever communicated to us. I had already spoken to Lacy twice that morning. At no time did she let us know there was an issue verifying the insurance. Ever. At 10:38 I asked Lacy if the dentist was running behind and it was the first time she mentioned that they wouldn't see us until the insurance was verified. Furthermore, she said that the business office told her it could take at least another hour to do so. She was literally going to keep my family waiting in the tiny lobby with no conversation or explanation. Now mind you, I had just spoken to her the day before to confirm our appointment and there was no asking for additional insurance information. I had also spoken to her twice before the appointment that morning. We have Cigna PPO and it is accepted by the office. Even the woman I spoke to at the remote business office said that we should have been taken back, had X-rays and an exam performed with no need to verify the insurance beforehand. She apologized but let me know there was nothing she could do. We left the office, obviously upset and when I asked for a call back from the dentist herself, well...I am still waiting. The whole thing was handled in the most unprofessional manner I am still dumbfounded. Total lack of regard for the well being of young children and no patient communication. Lacy is just plain awful to deal with and the most unpleasant person I have dealt with in a very long time. I have been in the service industry for 35 years so I have a bit of experience dealing with the public. She has no business being in customer service. Period. There was another lady who I couldn't tell you what she actually does, but she was very kind and apologized profusely. She was kind to my kids and was really lovely but again...I have no clue what she does. So, as tacky as I think writing negative reviews is, I have been left with no choice but to let others know of our experience. I will be filing a complaint with the Dental Board as well. There was no reason to have been treated this way. Except maybe because we are two dads? Nah...that couldn't be it. This is California in 2021. But isn't it odd that all the others had great experiences and we were treated so differently? Please tell me it isn't so. UPDATE: I wanted to update my review after having had lovely and lengthy conversation with the dentist who did call me back after a few days. Dr. Almasi really seems genuine and caring and I am so sorry that we had such a bad experience with one of her staff named Marlene. I had mistakenly believed it was Lacy we were dealing with but I was incorrect. While I am confident that she will continue to coach her staff on how to better treat customers, we still won't be returning based on the experience we had. This is really a shame because I can tell you that Dr. Almasi was fun to talk to, and really seemed to care about her patients. Also, the lady who I said in my previous review was so kind but I didn't know what she did--is the dentist's mother! So I want to be totally fair and recognize when a business owner wants to make things right and she really did. It's just too bad that we were left with a horrible first impression and are reluctant to return and deal with one particular employee. I wish Dr. Almasi much success in her practice and I truly hope that her staff doesn't let her or her patients down again.

The customer service at this office is horrendous. They do not understand how to communicate with customers and how to effectively express themselves. I tried to make an appointment for my daughter to have fillings done with the understanding that we had a treatment plan in place from our previous exams and x-rays. After 5 phone calls I finally had an appointment. I had expressed my frustration with my experience today and Ana brushed it off because they were busy. Then I receive a rude voicemail from the front office person (Ana) basically telling me "I told you so, you can't have that appointment. There's not clear x-rays, so you can come back for an exam". When I called to find out what she meant, because I had not been informed that the x-rays from a month before were not clear. I had no idea. So, she is lecturing me about how I'm not a doctor and she's not a doctor so I can't just demand that my daughter comes in to have her fillings done. I explained to her that it was new information to me that the x-rays were not clear. She was lecturing me, rushing me off the phone and generally being rude when no one had taken the time to explain the xray situation to me. I really don't understand why I would need to argue with somebody to make an appointment. I do not deserve that treatment and have many other options for businesses that can interact with their customers in a polite way. The staff that works in the front of house with your clients are a direct representation of the company culture. I will not take my children to an office that models such unprofessional behavior with their clients. I do not trust their judgement.

I was fortunate enough to get my daughter in this dental office for her first ever dental visit which was scary for us. I walked in prepared for a screaming toddler however to my surprise this entire team was extremely sweet and helpful and just flat out professionals! I am so beyond thankful to have found the perfect team to take care of my kids teeth. Truly recommend this office. Not too mention that they got us in and out super fast even with having to do first time paperwork.
