Because Buffalo Grove is so near and dear to their hearts, Dr. Capezio and Dr. Loiben dedicate a lot of their free time to doing outreach, providing free dental education and basic services to local children. They both support nearby schools, such as Stevenson High School, and have also partnered with a few youth sports teams. Dr. Loiben is a big hockey player, so youve likely seen signs for our pediatric dental office at the neighborhood rink!
One of the biggest concerns our parents have is the radiation their child will be exposed to when we take X-rays. Thankfully, our digital radiography quickly puts those worries to rest. Not only are digital X-rays faster and sharper than traditional film, but the process also emits 80-90% LESS radiation. Its also easier to catalog the images and refer to them regularly, allowing us to see subtle changes in your childs teeth and jaws over time.
Dr. Nick grew up in Glencoe, IL and is a graduate of New Trier Township High School. After high school, he attended Tulane University in New Orleans, LA and earned his dental degree from Boston University. Eager to come closer to home and be near friends and family, he returned to Chicago to complete his pediatric specialty training. It has always been Dr. Nicks dream and aspiration to have a personal, intimate dental office. He could not be more thrilled to partner with Dr. Ted to treat patients of all ages in our Buffalo Grove Pediatric Dental Office
If you ask Dr. Capezio, hell gladly tell you that he has his dream job. He loves working with children, and having the opportunity to serve the community where he grew up is extremely fulfilling. For him, our dental office is like a second home, and hes eager to help you and your child feel the same way when you come to see us. To start getting to know Dr. Nick, read on below.
Both of Dr. Nicks parents are physicians, so he knew from an early age that he wanted to have a career in healthcare. As a freshman in college, he worked in Skokie for an oral surgeon. This experience showed him that dentistry offered the perfect blend of art, science, and patient interaction. He eventually decided to focus on pediatric dentistry because he saw it would allow him to have a lasting, positive impact on his patients lives.
After graduating from Tulane University, Dr. Capezio earned his dental degree from the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. From there, he went on to receive his Advanced Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry as well as a Masters in Oral Health Sciences from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Capezio is a Board eligible pediatric dentist, and is in the process of completing his pediatric dental board certification.
While in dental school, he won the International College of Dentists Humanitarian Award and the Quintessence Award for Outstanding Dental Achievement for a project where he helped implement a dental prevention program for children in Estel, Nicaragua.
Dr. Nick likes to stay active in his free timehe is an avid bike rider, hiker, Peloton user, and water skier. He is also a big Chicago sports fan and closely follows the Bulls, Bears, and Blackhawks. He speaks Spanish after living in Ecuador for 10 months before going to Dental school. Despite traveling all over the world , hes proud to call Chicago his home and is eager to plant roots here.
Dr. Ted Loiben (pronounced LoyBin) grew up in Lincolnwood and is a graduate of Niles West High School. He knew at a young age that he wanted to be a dentist like his father. He received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Tulane University in New Orleans and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Loyola University School of Dentistry in Chicago.
Dr. Loiben also completed a one-year general practice residency at Mt. Sinai Hospital Medical Center in Chicago, which included extensive surgical and anesthesia training. He worked briefly as a general dentist, where he found that he especially enjoyed working with younger patients and creatively utilizing his personality as well as his dental skills to put children at ease.
While working in a well-established pediatric dental office, Dr. Loiben decided to pursue this specialty. He then went back to school at the University of Nebraskas highly regarded two-year residency program to earn a certificate of specialty in pediatric dentistry. This training included all phases of a childs psychological development and extensive hands-on experience in treating even the most apprehensive of children requiring routine check-ups through complicated procedures.

Dr. Loiben's office is fantastic! Every staff member treated my 2 year old and myself with respect. The front desk is helpful and understanding. The dental hygienist was great with her, and helped her get through the cleaning with minimal difficulty. We started going to Dr. Ted when my daughter was 1.5 years old, and all three of our visits went well. The first one was difficult because it was her first time and she was so young, but they handled it well. Now she's doing great and actually likes to go for the kid friendly environment and staff. Highly recommended pediatric dentist! All the good reviews are true.

Front desk was rude. Dental assistant held my son down without my knowledge. They treat the parents just like the kids. I do not recommend this place at all.

The staff at Capezio Loiben Pediatric Dentistry are wonderful! They're friendly and caring! They make sure children (and parents) are comfortable before they begin. My two year old had a tear free experience! Highly recommend!

We've been taking our boys to this practice for 13 years! Dr. Ted is the best pediatric dentist we know and Dr. Capezio is right up there too! Every single time a very nice experience for our boys (who are now teenagers) and peace of mind for my husband and I knowing that our kids were always given the best care and treatment. Highly recommend!!!

Dr. Nick and Dr. Ted don't just care about teeth, but they also care about their patients! We have been going to Dr. Ted since our oldest had his first dental exam! For parents with little ones, rest assured this place IS the best! My sons loved their first exams. They had their own room and was introduced to all the tools. They chose their cool sunglasses to keep the light out of their eyes, picked a movie they wanted to watch, laid back and enjoyed their movie (screen was on the ceiling AND wall so they could watch it easily no matter what position they were in)! Dr. Ted was patient and understanding about our nervousness. He truly cares about the his patients and remembers nice little nuggets my kids tells him. He brings it back up 6 months later and they walk out feeling like they're special! For us that fun first time experience was 10 years ago and my kids are still excited about their dentist appointment! Dr. Nick has joined the practice with his happy laughter and caring tone. My sons don't get the private room but they do get everything else, especially the attention and care from the doctors and staff! Dr. Nick is so knowledgeable and friendly. My sons love sharing new tidbits they learn about him and sharing details about themselves with him. The staff, dental assistants, hygienists, and doctors are kind, caring, friendly, patient, and knowledgeable! Their attention to details and warm personalities sets the tone for a positive dentist experience - so positive that my sons look forward to seeing Dr. Nick and Dr. Ted for their visits (cleanings, exams, cavities, etc...) no matter what the visit entails! That's a high 5-Star review for me!

Took my 5 year old Grayson to get a cavity filled, Dr.Ted is absolutely amazing. He was was just awesome with my boy that was a little scared. He is hands down the best pediatric dentist and I can see why kids love coming here. A trip to the dentist is now fun thanks to the entire office.

They goofed up big time in insurance coverage..I had a valid Cigna HMO Dental. I submitted my insurance card BEFORE the visit. They never mentioned that they dont cover cigna HMO for Dental..But post the visit, they asked us to pay in full..Cheaters !!!
