Dr. Tom Popp has been providing orthodontic care in Chattanooga for over 25 years. He is one of the most experienced Invisalign providers in the area and was an Assistant Professor of Clinical Orthodontics at Vanderbilt University. He graduated from Hixson High and UTC before his dental education at Emory University in Atlanta. He practiced general dentistry for five years before his orthodontic residency at the University of Washington in Seattle. Dr. Popp loves outdoor activities and spending time with his wife Starr, and their four adult children. Of course, he is thrilled to have his son, Colton, with him at Team Popp Dental.
Dr. Colton Popp joined Team Popp Dental in the summer of 2018 to provide quality pediatric dental care for Chattanooga area families. He graduated from Baylor School and UTC before completing dental school at UT Memphis. Colton and his wife, Leah, traveled to Pennsylvania for his pediatric dental residency at Geisinger Medical Center. He also enjoys outdoor adventures and coaching youth sports. Colton is excited to be back in Chattanooga and practicing with his dad.
Dr. Gill grew up in the Chattanooga area and Soddy Daisy. He attended the University of the South at Sewanee. Upon graduation, he attended Dental School at The University of Tennessee at Memphis. After receiving his dental doctorate, Dr. Gill went on to earn a Masters in Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Sam Gill has been practicing pediatric dentistry in the Chattanooga area since 1969. When not in the office or participating in continuing education, Sam spends time playing tennis, riding motorcycles, boating, and spending time with his seven grandchildren.
Dr. Popp was born and raised in Nashville, TN. She is proud to be a second-generation dentist that was inspired to pursue dentistry after witnessing first-hand the impact that her father had on his community.
Dr. Popp attended Lipscomb University where she received a Bachelor of Science in biology in 2011, graduating cum laude, while balancing her life as a collegiate soccer player. After graduating from college, she then went on to dental school at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN. In Memphis, she met her husband, Dr. Colton Popp, who is a pediatric dentist and native of Chattanooga.
After graduating from dental school, Dr. Popp worked as a general dentist at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania while her husband was doing his pediatric dental residency. At Geisinger, she gained experience in treating patients with extensive medical and dental needs.

The entire staff at Popp Dental are warm, welcoming, and most of all caring! As someone who was uneasy about going to the dentist, this is the dentist to visit.

I loved taking my daughters here 3 and 6 in the past. Today I'm here with my 15 yr old son. This is his very first visit. Well the blonde hair lady that brought him back said I couldn't go back there. I really hope you all know his history she looked down at my 3yr old and said they even take 3 year Olds in by themselves well news flash I wouldn't trust NO one with my kids I could have went back to tell you his history and came back out to the waiting room. Blonde chick you are rude and have no common sense for first patients. And you all let me in with my 3 and 6 year old at there first and second apt. I'm not impressed at all with your funny little attitude

I am consistently astonished at the kindness of efficiency of the front end staff as well as the efficiency and talent of this dentist. We waited for less than a minute, and Dr. Popp finished 4 cavities on a 5 year old in less than 45 minutes. And my kid was comfortable and had a good time. Thank you guys. So much.

Their scheduling is terrible. When I arrive with my son I honestly have zero concerns for any other patient so please don't tell me "It wouldn't be fair to the other patients" when it concerns my youngest. We had our cleaning Jan. 26th and he needed a filling and cap on his left and then his right sides. You schedule his appointment for May 18 for one side and then November for his second? After 12 years and 3 kids with Dr. Gill this is not the service I expect from my pediatric dentist. I guess we were spoiled before? Either way we're gonna be searching for someone new to take care of our needs. So frustrated at the moment....

We were referred to Team Pop after our dentist no longer accepted our insurance. The ladies behind the desk are amazing and so was the dental assistant. Dr Pop himself was super friendly and incredibly nice. My son remarked after left, "Wow! He is so awesome!" Suffice to say we have found the dentist we will stay with. If you're looking for a kids dentist I would 10/10 recommend.

Just not a big fan of the office. We were patients of Dr. Gill for 12+ years and always had wonderful experiences. When Dr. Gill retired and his patients were transferred to Team Popp we gave it a chance for at least a year! First visit with Colton Popp was pleasant but it just seems like they have an overload of patients and the office visit is very impersonal in general. When I have asked questions at the front desk I've gotten sort of snide replies. Not to mention, scheduling an appointment for a cavity shouldn't be 4 months out. Maybe I got spoiled by the small office feel but I'd take it over feeling like a number any day.

My 5 yr old son is Dr. Popp s patient so we have only been a couple of visits . I am very satisfied with both of those visits. The staff has always been super friendly . Thank you Dr Popp for your patience in explaining things to my son. He always says he is so scared before we go but when we get there those fears disappear instantly. I was a dental assistant for 15 yrs and I know that kids can be very challenging sometimes as patients and you do a great job! I have highly recommended you to all of my friends and family!!

We have had the pleasure of having Dr. Colton popp work on my daughters teeth. From the very first interaction with the entire staff it had been delightful and the work he did on my daughters mouth was absolutely wonderful. She had four caps put on and three extractions and this is one day later no pain and the work was clean and presise. Wonderful wonderful dentist office!! Thank you Colton popp!!

I am happy to share my recent experience with Team Popp as I can honestly say I received the absolute best dental care from Dr. Leah Popp, Dr. Colton Popp and Laura Hobart. Dr. Leah Popp evaluated my situation promptly, answered all my questions thoroughly and professionally prior to treatment and completed the procedures in an efficient, confident manner without pain. Dr. Colton Popp is a breath of fresh air, and he worked with her to ensure that I was comfortable throughout the procedure. They both went above and beyond to treat me with expertise, compassion, and skill. After my initial appointment, I returned to the office for a complete dental cleaning, and I had a very thorough ultrasonic cleaning and was in great hands with Laura Hobart. I am so happy to have found excellent dental care in the Hixson area and can 100% recommend this practice to anyone looking for modern dental expertise combined with a pleasant environment. It is also important to note that this practice is following all the Covid precautions, masks required of all patients/staff, temperatures are recorded, and the staff was vigilant in taking care of patients in this regard. I felt safe.

Not pleased. We were referred from another dentist because my son needs anesthesia for work to be done. We waited almost 2 months, with a referral may I remind you, to be examined and then they want us to wait another 4 months for the work. My sons teeth will be falling out of his head by then! His cavities have already progressed significantly while we've waited for this appointment. I cancelled the work and scheduled with another dentist that can get us in next week.
