Making a difference in someones life begins with building a relationship with them. I enjoy asking my patients questions and really listening to their answers. Hearing about their experiences, goals, and dreams gives me a connection to each as a person and also helps me understand how best to address their dental needs.

I appreciate the opportunity to get to know each patient personally, listening to their joys and sometimes their sorrows, and sharing in their lives through the years. I love developing relationships with my patients and treasure each connection we build.

I was interested in dentistry at a young age, as I had braces when in middle school and made many trips to my local dental office. Then, in college, I was influenced by Dr. Michael Ridley, a local Oral Surgeon. He encouraged me to reconsider teaching and coaching and go into dentistry.

Dentistry, like all areas of healthcare, is constantly advancing. Research leads to new technologies, materials, and methodologies, which have the potential to improve patient care and outcomes. As a professional, it is my responsibility to stay current on the latest developments in order to provide my patients with the quality, conservative dentistry they deserve.

I am an active member of the Kentucky and American Dental Associations and through these organizations I have access to numerous avenues to learning. In addition to in-person and online courses, I regularly attend meetings, seminars, and lectures. I have completed a range of training in everything from general dentistry to OSHA updates, opioid abuse/KASPAR courses, and Invisalign certification coursework.

Samantha Shipley and her husband Zach are both Murray State University graduates. They live in Jonesboro, Arkansas, and are on staff with Campus Outreach ministries. Ann Young and her husband, Jordan, are also graduates of Murray State. Ann is working on a Masters in Speech Pathology and Jordan is an Engineer with Barnhart Crane of Memphis. And Gabe Taylor, our youngest, is attending Murray State with eyes on dental school.

Time with family and loved ones is a priority when Im not at the office. I also enjoy working on my angus cattle farm, boating and fishing at Kentucky Lake, and teaching adult Bible school each Sunday at Hardin Baptist.

Through Hardin Baptist and Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), I volunteer in college ministry at Murray State. I also speak to athletic teams in our tri-state region through my non-profit, 46Power, which provides FCA bibles and devotionals. I currently serve on the FCA board, along with my wife; we are helping launch this group onto Murray States campus.

Dr. Richard L. Vonnahme is a 2005 graduate of the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. Dr. Vonnahme grew up in Campbellsburg, Kentucky, then graduated high school from St. Xavier in Louisville. He received his Bachelor of Science from Murray State University in 2001.

Dr. Vonnahme is married to the former Deanna D. Davenport and they have two daughters. After graduating from the University of Louisville, Dr. Vonnahme and his wife moved to Laramie, Wyoming where he practiced and provided dental care to children and the underserved population. He has also been to South America to provide dental care in Georgetown, Guyana, and the Amazon River Basin of Brazil. Dr. Vonnahme also contributes in activities with the Purchase Area Health Association providing care to children. He is a past board member with the Angel's Community Dental Clinic and is an active member of Hardin Baptist Church.

Dentistry provides a unique opportunity to build relationships with all ages and people from every walk of life. Its a blessing to see patients and their families grow and mature, to see their anxieties disappear while their oral health improves, and to build real relationships with those in my care.

I enjoy getting to know my patients, personally, and learning what theyre passionate about: their families, hobbies, interests, and how they spend their days. I am a people-person and dentistry allows me time to create connections while helping others.

I have practiced dentistry for nine years. The field appealed to me as a great opportunity to work with people every day, to work with my hands, and to ultimately help people lead healthier and happier lives.

My Bachelor of Science was received in 2008 at the University of Oklahoma. Dental school came next and I was awarded my Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) at the University of Louisville in 2012. Remaining at the university, I then completed a General Practice Residency before going into private practice.

I enjoy learning and am constantly seeking ways to further strengthen and expand my knowledge and the services I provide. By staying up-to-date on the most current research, techniques, and products, I ensure I am offering patients proven, safe, and effective dental solutions.

I am an active member of the American and Kentucky Dental Associations, and the Christian Medical & Dental Association. Through these organizations I have numerous opportunities to learn from leading researchers and practitioners, as well as my peers. Every year I complete many hours of continuing education, in both general dentistry and orthodontics, through online courses and attending lectures, seminars, and meetings.

I grew up in Elizabethtown, Kentucky and have considered Murray to be my home for seven years, now. I love this community and the area and take advantage of every opportunity to be outside: gardening, hiking, biking, and traveling are among my favorite pastimes.

Instead, Dr. Randy K. Taylor, DMD, Dr. Richard L. Vonnahme, DMD, Dr. Anna M. Jayjock, DMD, and our team take time to get to know you and your family. We want to understand who you are, and by learning about your life and dental expectations, we are able to design care to your situation.

While our doctors and team members are highly-experienced and skilled professionals, we are equally as warm, friendly, and kind. Dentistry is how we serve the Murray community, helping our friends and neighbors achieve optimal oral health and then ensuring those smiles stay bright and healthy, one person at a time!

Our goal is to provide you and your family with high-quality dental care in a caring, gentle manner. Our team works as one, with the shared desires of helping you obtain and keep a healthy mouth and smile.

Dr. Taylor and his wife, Lee Ann, opened our office in 1996 with the desire to serve our community and make it a happier, healthier place for all. Over the years our practice has grown through referrals from our patient family; we are honored to be known as an honest and ethical dental practice that provides advanced and accommodating service.

Taylor Family Dental feels like a welcoming home. From our inviting lobby with cozy furniture, including antique area rugs and wall art, to our warm and comfortable treatment rooms, we strive to help you to feel at ease.

Our doctors and staff are attentive, accommodating, and genuinely want you to be relaxed in our care and confident that you are in competent, gentle hands. If there is ever anything you need to make a visit or procedure easier for you, please let us know!
