Dr. Alberto Taylor practices the highest level of dentistry I've ever experienced, with brand new state-of-the-art equipment and a highly-trained, friendly staff. His manner is informal but professional, and he is uncompromising in the quality of his work. He communicates in detail with me with recommendations, options and costs, and with the digital photo and x-ray monitors, I can see exactly what he sees. Dr. Taylor graduated as a Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1983 from Universidad Autonoma de Tamaulipas, Mexico. In 1991 Dr. Taylor received all his certifications to practice dentistry in California from Loma Linda University. He is a member of the California Dental Association and the American Dental Association. He has had a private practice in Santa Paula, California from 1992 to 2007. Since 2008 he has practiced dentistry in Arcata, California. He is active locally in the Arcata Rotary Club. Dr. Taylor lives in Arcata and enjoys the free time he spends with his family.
Dr. Taylor is a member of the Dawson Alumni Association and recently graduated from the core curriculum and advanced training courses at the prestigious Dawson Academy on the proven 'Concept of Complete Dentistry'. Our Hygienists, Dental Assistants and Receptionists, who are committed to their continuing education, have also attended the Dawson Academy to learn the skills necessary to better assist and support Dr. Taylor in diagnosis and treatment planning. Dr. Taylor has also completed mini-residencies in Cosmetic Dentistry and Implants from UCLA. Other courses attended include periodontics, endodontics, TMJ, advanced restorative cases that involve a multi-disciplinary approach, oral-systemic connections and integration of modern technology in todays dental practice for more predictability and longevity of dental treatment.
Dr. Taylor 's philosophy of comprehensive care is founded on the 'concept of complete dentistry' approach learned from Dr. Pete Dawson at the Dawson Academy in St. Petersburg, Florida. This philosophy has proof that 'complete dentistry' must begin with a thorough understanding of the occlusion and the functions of the masticatory system. Dr. Taylor is implementing this approach in his practice especially when a patient presents symptoms of TMJ or other dental problems. When diagnosing and treatment-planning Dr. Taylor takes into consideration the complete masticatory system, which includes the patient 's jaw joints, teeth, head and neck muscles. Dr. Taylor learned from Dr. Dawson that taking into account the interrelation of the whole oral system gives results in more predictable dental work, offers comfort to the patient, and superior esthetics. Finding harmony between the upper and lower teeth is the cornerstone of this philosophy and what mother nature intended for us.
Dr. Taylor is the best dentist I've ever encountered, and I've been to a lot! He is always so gentle yet very thorough and complete.
