Dr. Alberto Taylor practices the highest level of dentistry I've ever experienced, with brand new state-of-the-art equipment and a highly-trained, friendly staff. His manner is informal but professional, and he is uncompromising in the quality of his work. He communicates in detail with me with recommendations, options and costs, and with the digital photo and x-ray monitors, I can see exactly what he sees. I feel totally comfortable in Dr. Taylor's care and highly recommend him.
Dr. Taylor graduated as a Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1983 from Universidad Autonoma de Tamaulipas, Mexico. In 1991 Dr. Taylor received all his certifications to practice dentistry in California from Loma Linda University. He is a member of the California Dental Association and the American Dental Association. He has had a private practice in Santa Paula, California from 1992 to 2007. Since 2008 he has practiced dentistry in Arcata, California. He is active locally in the Arcata Rotary Club. Dr. Taylor lives in Arcata and enjoys the free time he spends with his family.
Dr. Taylor is a member of the Dawson Alumni Association and recently graduated from the core curriculum and advanced training courses at the prestigious Dawson Academy on the proven 'Concept of Complete Dentistry'. Our Hygienists, Dental Assistants and Receptionists, who are committed to their continuing education, have also attended the Dawson Academy to learn the skills necessary to better assist and support Dr. Taylor in diagnosis and treatment planning. Dr. Taylor has also completed mini-residencies in Cosmetic Dentistry and Implants from UCLA. Other courses attended include periodontics, endodontics, TMJ, advanced restorative cases that involve a multi-disciplinary approach, oral-systemic connections and integration of modern technology in todays dental practice for more predictability and longevity of dental treatment.
Dr. Taylor 's philosophy of comprehensive care is founded on the 'concept of complete dentistry' approach learned from Dr. Pete Dawson at the Dawson Academy in St. Petersburg, Florida. This philosophy has proof that 'complete dentistry' must begin with a thorough understanding of the occlusion and the functions of the masticatory system. Dr. Taylor is implementing this approach in his practice especially when a patient presents symptoms of TMJ or other dental problems. When diagnosing and treatment-planning Dr. Taylor takes into consideration the complete masticatory system, which includes the patient 's jaw joints, teeth, head and neck muscles. Dr. Taylor learned from Dr. Dawson that taking into account the interrelation of the whole oral system gives results in more predictable dental work, offers comfort to the patient, and superior esthetics. Finding harmony between the upper and lower teeth is the cornerstone of this philosophy and what mother nature intended for us.
Dr. Taylor is the best dentist I've ever encountered, and I've been to a lot! He is always so gentle yet very thorough and complete. The staff is polite, funny, professional and I appreciate that they let you know what they are going to do before they do it! I would refer all of my friends to Dr. Taylor!
In our office we are fortunate to be able to work as a team. Professionally, we are all committed and look forward to our continuing education. Dr. Taylor is a wonderful dentist. He has detailed directions for before and after difficult procedures that all but eliminate your pain. I've had cleanings more painful at other dental offices than Dr. Taylor's crowns. Absolutely the best. Bar none.

WARNING. Don't get ripped off for something that you don't need!!! They pushing people do to any kind a work doesn't matter if they don't need because they need a money to cover there expenses!!!

The people who work here are rude and bad. They lack basic empathy and are only interested how much cash they can immediately extract from you. If you get anxiety or just don't enjoy power tripping staff who think it's appropriate to yell at patients look elsewhere.

I spent 8 thousand dollars at doctor taylor. I had a implant. The implant failed in 13 months. Dr. Taylor left me in the chair mouth open for three hours while he got a part. Now his secretary has extreme attitude problems. Go elsewhere. I am posting a complaint and suing the doctor

I have had many terrible experiences with dentists in my past. From that, I would get anxious at dental appointments. The entire staff has helped me to have a better experience with my dental care. Everyone is so kind and considerate. I now have almost no fear with going to see the dentist. Thank you all for being so warm and inviting. Dr Taylor is the best dentist that I have met in my 37 years. I am confident that choosing this office was a great decision.

Ask the community This was literally the best dental experience I've ever had. I am a college student who didn't (up untill now) have a primary dentist in the area. He and his staff were professional, kind, and knew what they were doing. Also the environment was spotless. I can not believe how great the quality of work Dr. Taylor produces is. I am so grateful.

Alberto Taylor Did all of my cavities... and all the time was caring and attentive to my needs.. he did such a fine job and there was so little pain, no more than I could bear, even in a place where I just had a bundle of nerves just ripe to give me pain I only had like a 5 on the scale of 1 to 10 in pain.. he is very skillful meticulous, and gentle in his work, and did such a fine job!!! therefore I give him a 5 star rating!! thank you Dr. Taylor!!

WARNING WARNING WARNING What a joke. The poor front desk iNs their front of a pompous money hungry establishment led by a gross rude and throw up your lunch hygebist/office mmgr. They'll charge you more the less work you need done. If they don't you get you for the "extra extra x-rays" then the various random charges for everything's from your 5 minute late arrival to a overlooked question on your exam they nickel dime for everythibg. The hygienist overweight and unhappy was the rudest of the entire awful experience. In fact her odor was worse than her condescending attitude. And my crystal who knows probably blurry. Didn't even follow the doctors orders instead insisted i make a follow up appointment, me coming to back here .... I'd rather get run over by a bus. Keep away go next door to the other dentist the people who came out of that place were smiling. WARNING TERRIBLE TREATMENT AND DENTISTRY

Fortunately, Dr Taylor's office was taking new patients when I had to flee my last dentist because he re cemented a crown in a tooth "with just a little decay in it." Don't we all know this doesn't work? It got very infected and, fortunately, I was able to get in with Dr Taylor who had to extract the molar! Since then, I have gone to Dr Taylor for x-rays and he has found a problem with another crown that my previous dentist missed. I would say that Dr Taylor is a no nonsense dentist who is extremely thorough. 5 stars so far!. And, the staff is delightful.

I was grinding my teeth in my sleep and even while studying, I couldn't concentrate or sleep well until he made me a custom night guard, worth every penny even as a broke college student. I have been using it consistently for a few years now, and I can't imagine if I had kept trying to use over the counter mouth guard products that never worked or fit my mouth. He also put in a crown for me that was actually fun! He 3D prints beautiful crowns in his office, and it can be installed in one visit instead of two. All of the work and cleanings has been painless, comfortable and top-notch. Dr Taylor's attention to detail and quality is priceless, I highly recommend him and his staff.

Growing up in a military family, I moved many times and had to endure numerous dentists. Dr. Taylor is by far the best dentist I've ever been to. He is caring, direct, intuitive, and efficient. He is very professional, yet still cares about each patient individually. He was very straight-forward in letting me know about what work I needed done, and I appreciated his direct style of communication. He really does care about what's best for each patient. I am so thrilled to have finally found a dentist I hope to stay with for a long time!
