Tavares Dental offers comprehensive treatment planning covering all aspects restorative and cosmetic dentistry including cleanings, fillings, crowns, bridges, and extractions. Dr.Potterhas the expertise to offer many complex procedures in-house, including endodontic treatment (root canals), wisdom teeth removal and surgical extractions, as well as dental implants. We offer cosmetic smile design with Invisalign clear braces, teeth whitening, and cosmetic fillings as well as partial and full dentures.

When Im asked what I like most about being a dentist, its always a simple answer: my patients. Im grateful to have a profession where I get to interact with wonderful people every day and provide a service that helps them be happier, healthier, and more confident.
I was raised in small town Colorado, and before calling Florida home I spent several years in both Utah and Arizona for schooling. I took a two-year hiatus from school to serve as a missionary in Brazil and am still fluent in Portuguese (and pretty proficient in Spanish). I met my wife Erika while studying at Brigham Young University where I received my bachelors in Exercise Science. We moved to the Phoenix, Arizona area to continue graduate schooling and I finished a masters degree at Midwestern University in Biomedical Sciences, then continued with my DMD degree at the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health in Mesa.
Erika and I have been happily married for 10 years and have a three-year-old daughter, Addison. I like to say I have three ladies in my life: Erika, Addie, and Summer (our blonde mini dachshund). As a family we enjoy traveling, golfing, and spending time with extended family here in Florida and out West. We are active in our church and I enjoy teaching Sunday school in our local congregation.
Even if you dont like going to the dentist, I can promise you a great experience at Tavares Dental. Our team works hard to make sure every patient feels comfortable and listened to, even if youve had dental anxieties in the past. I hope to see you in our office soon!

Five stars are not enough. I went to Dr. Potter's office today, after visiting several dentists for opinions; I have a lot of work to do, and I needed to find the 'right' dentist. I was very skeptical after receiving many different opinions. From the start, Theresa at the front desk was super kind and comforting on the phone, Wendy took me back and made me feel immediately safe, but Dr. Potter Is, by far, the kindest, most patient, understanding, and professional dentist (or doctor) that I have met in my life. He took the time to explain everything, answering my zillion questions. His heart is huge, and his knowledge is large. I hate dentists, and I adore Dr. Potter and his staff. I know, without a doubt, that they are the right choice for my dental needs, and you know what, I cannot wait to go back... I do not believe I'm saying this about a dentist. I believe 110% that Dr. Potter is, without a doubt, the best dentist in the world (not just in the state of Florida) and his staff are over-the-top wonderful. I am lucky to have found this office, and I recommend them without any hesitation. Thank you, Dr. Potter, Theresa, and Wendy, for easing my fears; you have made more of a difference than you know!!

Dr Potter, Theresa (front desk) and Cheryl (my hygienist) are all top notch. Professional yet caring, up to date on all dental techniques and only wanting the best results for their patients! I feel like family there always ! Added nicety- They give sunglasses to wear so no light in your eye.

I highly recommend Dr. Potter and all of his wonderful staff!! I have not been more impressed with how incredible they all are. They all make it fun to go to the dentist and I could not be happier with the work that Dr. Potter is doing for my wife and I! We both have some major things that we are dealing with, and I can honestly say that Dr. Potter is the best dentist I have ever seen. He is genuine, kind, caring, and he does excellent work! If you are looking for the best dentist in the nation, and if you are looking for the best, most professional customer service, look no further, Dr. Potter and all of his amazing staff do not disappoint!

We recently moved to Tavares and was looking for a local dentist. I had an issue with one of my molars. Dr Potter and his staff are remarkable. He's very gentle and took care of my problem. No pain, no scare. His staff couldn't have been nicer and more patient. I'm so thrilled to have found such a wonderful place. Thank you Dr Potter, Wendy and Theresa.

I was so scared to go into the Dentist today because Covid kept me away from dental places being closed and medication has caused 4 teeth to break off. The office staff Emily and Theresa were so nice and when I met the Dentist Dr. Potter, DMD he was so kind and really tried to calm my fears down. They took impressions and even adjusted the tray for the bones in the bottom of my mouth. I had a flipper that broke and was not able to get fixed again because of Covid and I had to superglue and use acrylic to keep it together. The Doctor did not talk down to me but only treated me with kindness. I would 100% recommend this office. This was my first visit and I am so thankful they allowed me to be a client.

I'm so grateful for being referred to Dr. Potter. I was unknowingly visiting a corporate dentist practice. After a bad experience, I visited Dr. Potter who was gracious to take over my treatment. From every bad comes a good and Dr. Potter and his staff are that blessing! From the way you are greeted by Theresa, Wendy and the other staff, and then Dr. Potter is amazing. Their interactions with each other are genuine and caring. There is not a single action that is not explained before it happens. His bedside manner is amazing and has a kind soul. The all-day anxiety feeling of going to the dentist has disappeared, I highly recommend. Support your local professionals.

Dr. Potter is absolutely fantastic! He and his staff are knowledgeable, super helpful and super nice! I have terrible anxiety about my teeth and getting dental work done, but I never feel uneasy going here. I especially recommend this facility if you need any crowns done!

Dr. Potter was friendly, has good chairside manner, and appears to have a genuinely caring and gentle manner when maneuvering tools and implements inside my mouth. This is important to me. His staff are knowledgeable and also caring. I enjoyed the television screen showing playful pets and the overhead music was good, both distracted me from the sounds of the filling removal and crown procedure and reduced my anxiety. I'm planning future work with Dr. Potter and his staff. I recommend trying them.

Best Dentist on the Planet!!!!! Seriously Dr. Potter is Amazing! To be honest I was feeling apprehensive to get dental work after many previous dental experiences in my past. I was definitely not looking forward to more dental work! Within minutes of my arrival any previous anxiety or uneasiness that I had previously felt had completely vanished and I was so happy knowing I was truly in the hands on extremely competent, caring and talented professional. I recommend Dr. Potter to everybody! I have no doubt that he and his staff will meet , and more likely exceed your expectations! Again Best Dentist On Earth!!!!!

I had my first appointment with Dr. Potter and what an experience! I've NEVER experienced such a dental appointment as I did on 26 August! Any other dental appointments I've ever had have ALWAYS been with MUCH ANXIETY! From the moment I walked in the door as a new patient to the time I walked out, I felt NO ANXIETY. The office staff, the techs who work with Dr. Potter, and Dr. Potter himself couldn't have been nicer and put me at ease immediately. Dr. Potter is a quiet, calming man and takes time with you, explaining everything in terms easy to understand. His name came HIGHLY recommended to me via a patient of his. After my appointment, I understand the HIGH RECOMMENDATION!!! Thank you Dr. Potter and your outstanding staff for such a pleasing (can one say that ABOUT a DENTAL APPOINTMENT?! Yes, in this case definitely!), and non-stressful appointment.

This dentist is fabulous! Emergency filling..Explains what needs to be done, very reasonable priced and pain free. Staff is friendly, professional and patient. First time in my life i am not afraid to go to dentist. Highly recommend this dentist and staff.

Dr Potter is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I broke my front tooth composite and he fixed it quickly and efficiently. I'm so grateful that I have a dentist that I can rely on. I finally have someone I can trust with my teeth! Highly recommend.
