Do NOT take your children to this place. This is not a child friendly dental practice. I heard the way my 10 yo daughter was spoken to (I was in a space across from her and I had assumed they were berating an adult, which would have been bad enough). When she asked for me to be present they refused. She left in tears and was visibly shaking. The dentist actually asked me if I was "going to cry too" right before he examined me. Also, extremely outdated equipment. The water pick leaked from four different places (hygienist's words, not mine) and completely soaked my face and my shirt. WTH? The overhead light went out and had to be "reset" and the apparatus for X-rays didn't reach the chair so I had to contort my head. It was physically painful. All of that pales to the way the dentist treated my daughter. Shameful.

Update-tried calling Oct 11 and recording says "office closed due to inclement weather'- what? Skies are sunny today. Recording said leave a voicemail YET voicemail not working. What is going on with this dental office??? Is this dental clinic now associated with the former Venice Dental Care that switched their name last month to Prime Dental Care and now again changed their name to Tarpon Shore Dental? If so you have really screwed up my dental care. Dr Angell and this crown she put on me is NOT set right and causing me severe pain since May 9th. I repeatedly told them even when they put the temporary on that my tooth was in severe pain. They told me once the permanent crown went on the pain would go away and it did not. I've been living through hell since May 9th with pain and not able to chew. They referred me for root canal. That Dr was booked for one month but I finally got root canal last week BUT the horrible pain persist. Endo Dr saw no root crack so pain is no doubt caused by poor fitting crown. I am requesting a refund of the $400 I paid and reimbursement to my insurance so another more reliable dentist can replace this poor fitting crown that still might have caused the destruction of my tooth. I see another dentist soon over this nightmare BUT I need my dental insurance reimbursed so another crown can go on. I want nothing to do with Venice dental. Aks Prime Dental aka Tarpon Shore. I repeatedly told that dentist and her staff that something was wrong with the way the crown was fitted on my tooth. And hear all this time I've been waiting for it to calm down and heal like they said it should and it never did and their referral to a root canal doctor and the root canal has not alleviated the pain and I still cannot chew on my left side at all, since May 9th I have not been able to chew on that side. And that tooth never ever ever hurt me until Dr Angell prepped the tooth for the temporary and that caused terrible pain and then the permanent crown was put on and the terrible pain continued. I left several voicemails and emails to Venice dental care yet I received no response from them. I felt totally abandoned. I went to the endodontist last week to have the root canal and none of my files or the referral was sent to them like they promised me one month earlier. They finally got the referral but it was after I left a voicemail Thursday morning the morning of my root canal when I found out none of my records are the referral was sent to the endodontist as promised by that office one month earlier. I still may lose this tooth. It still may need to be pulled and then I will take that up with I guess tarpon shores regarding that if that happens to my tooth

Perfect. In the past I have been terrified of dentists and hygienists even more so. I now go every three months and all is great. However as a statistician this is NOT generalizable to all dentists and their staff. I am only willing to attest to this dentist and office professionals. Donna Lee Gambino PhD

1st dental appointment since moving to Florida. Very pleasant experience from the front desk,to the assistant, to Dr Velenti. Every thing g was explained, charges and insurance payments Office was clean,organized and eye appealing. Would definitely recommend to others.

Submitted a new patient inquiry on their website - waited over a week and didn't receive a call like the form said. Then called the Venice office - no answer and had to leave a voicemail. Called me back 5 hours later while I was at work and then I called them back Monday morning. Again no answer and left a voicemail and no one ever called back. If it's this hard to schedule the initial appointment then it's going to be a no for me.

No long waits at Tarpon Shores Dental. Marina is pleasant is a very thorough hygienist! Highly recommend her!
