Newly established in 2021 by Dr. Mariel Petruk, Tarpon River Dental is the leading practice to serve all neighbors and friends of the greater Fort Lauderdale community. This new state of the art dental facility was designed to make its patients feel like they are relaxing at home. You will access an ample reception area with comfortable seating and a beverage center to grab a cool drink and view plenty of tropical foliage. Once inside the treatment rooms, the comforts continue; with ceiling mounted televisions to catch up on your favorite shows during your procedure, individualized radio stations if you prefer music, as well as additional blankets and pillows. We strive to ensure your comfort.
The technology we chose to incorporate puts our patients first. Digital x-rays minimize radiation exposure, allow for rapid diagnosis, and eliminate fumes from the ambient air. Cameras in every treatment room allow you to see your teeth the way that we see them, so that together we can make the best decisions for your oral health. We also have plans to continue to upgrade and incorporate the best equipment and supplies, such as an intra-oral scanner that would eliminate uncomfortable impression molds. We strive to continue improving ourselves!
Patient comfort is not the only place where thoughtful design was implemented. As an associate dentist, Dr. Petruk was astounded by all the waste that one dental office produces each day, and vowed that when opening her own office, it would be as environmentally friendly as possible. An amalgam separator was installed to prevent any extracted silver fillings from entering our delicate water system. A dry vacuum system was installed in order to conserve water, and new impact windows and doors placed to reduce our energy use. Wherever possible, autoclavable stainless steel instruments are used as opposed to single use disposable plastics. We believe these decisions can have a sizable impact.
Dr. Mariel Petruk is a Fort Lauderdale resident and is thrilled to serve the dental needs of her community. She graduated from Florida International University in 2010 with her Bachelors degree and from New York University College of Dentistry in 2014. Dr. Petruk considers herself a lifelong learner and participates in extensive Continual Dental Education courses, including implant placement and restoration. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, and the Broward County Dental Society.
Dr. Petruk was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and speaks fluent Spanish. When she is not in the office creating beautiful smiles, Dr. Petruk spends a lot of her free time exercising, especially in yoga practice. She loves being out on the water and has her SCUBA certification. She has a variety of orchids that she is trying to learn how to make happy, though not always successfully. If you really want to be impressed, she will show you how to fold a fitted sheet next time you come in for your check-up!
One of the first faces youre likely to encounter when you come into the office is that of Diana. She really is the behind the scenes director that ensures that your visit exceeds your expectations in terms of quality and comfort. She is also our problem-solver extraordinaire so if you have any concerns, please let Diana know and she will do her best to take care of it right away!
Diana is a Fort Lauderdale local, living in Tarpon River. She received her Bachelors Degree from Florida International University and her Masters Degree from Barry University in Miami. When she is off the clock, she loves to enjoy the South Florida sun and sand, as well as taking care of her many many plants!
Ana has grown to become Dr. Petruks left hand woman, quite literally! They met many years prior to the opening of Tarpon River Dental, and developed such a good working relationship, that it only seemed natural to continue to grow together. Ana is the master of keeping the doctor running on time and on schedule, ensuring your valuable time is not wasted in a waiting room.
In her off time, Ana is most likely found cruising out on the water with fiance, Greg, and their dogs. They are members of the American Powerboats Association and race Class 5. The pig mostly stays home because its a little to big for the boat.
