Dr. Tangredi graduated from Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. During his time at dental school, Dr. Tangredi visited Africa to promote Global health and provide dental care in the Kenyan region. Dr. Tangredi then went on to complete a one year General Practice Residency at Brooklyn Veterans Affairs Hospital where he received extensive training in all facets of Dentistry. He completed his post graduate training in Endodontics at the Advanced Education Program in Endodontics at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine. He currently serves on staff at Winthrop Hospital as an Endodontic Attending.
Dr. Tangredi was trained in the highest quality microendodontic technology. He is trained in all aspects of surgical and non-surgical endodontics to provide his patients with the highest quality care and comfort.
Dr. Tangredi is one of the only board certified endodontists in Garden City, having satisfactorily demonstrated to the American Board of Endodontics (ABE) examining board a high degree of knowledge, skill and experience in the science and art of endodontics.
Digital x-rays reduce the amount of radiation needed as compared to film x-rays. The improved diagnostic capability of digital x-rays and the ability to view the x-rays on a computer screen allow the patient to better understand and follow treatment. Digital x-rays are instant, there is no longer a need to develop the film. Digital x-rays save time and increase patient care. Its also a very green technology. By eliminating film, developer and chemical waste it is better for you and the environment!
The use of specialized operating microscopes means that the doctor is able to get a detailed look at the work they are doing during all phases of your endodontic treatment. The additional magnification and illumination allow them to work with great precision and see small details such as calcified canals and fractures. The Endodontist is able to more accurately diagnose and treat the patient using a dental surgical microscope to improve the potential outcome of the treatment from good to excellent. Further, some microscopes may be equipped with high resolution video and digital photography allowing the doctor to enhance patient communication and document treatment.
Using Electronic Medical Records our practice is able to quickly and accurately access patient information in order to provide the utmost in patient care. This helps to ensure patient confidentiality as well as reduce the need for paper. Using a digital format allows for quick access to your information when needed for insurance records yet provides a secure filing system.
This device is used to obtain the proper length of the root canal, from which the doctor can determine the position of the file relative to the apex of the root. This can help ensure that the canal is completely free of debris, reducing potential future complications.
These handpieces provide less vibration and noise than traditional dental drills. Not only are they quieter, but also more efficient in tooth preparation making dental procedures shorter and more manageable.
These monitors are found next to every patient chair. Patients can watch a movie or TV show. Patients can also view their dental radiographs when speaking to the doctor about the findings for a better understanding of their oral health.

Everyone who works here are very nice and pleasant. The place is super clean, you don't have to wait long, and doctor Matthew A. Tangredi is a very very good, I did not feel any pain. I will recommend him to all my family and friends, which I already did and my husband is going to make his appointment for his root canal ASAP. Thank you!!!!!!

I needed emergency root canal work yesterday and was able to get an appointment the same day. The office staff was very courteous and efficient. Dr. Salierno was wonderful explaining what needed to be done, and very concerned about my comfort. And then the office called me this morning to see how I was doing. A very good dental practice!

Tangredi Endodontics is an amazing practice. My husband and I are both patients there. The office is spotless and modern. The staff is super friendly and professional and make you feel comfortable. Dr. Tangredi is at the top of his craft as well! He is very professional, but makes you feel calm as he explains what the procedure is and what he will be doing. The whole root canal was actually pain free during and afterwards. No issues ever again with this tooth actually! Same for my husband! I highly recommend Tangredi Endodontics. We will never go anywhere else! I would give 10 stars if possible!!
