I don't know why the ratings are so low, but I highly recommend this dental practice. They are all so kind and friendly and actually get excited with you about any upcoming events you have in your life. They understand and listen to you about concerns and make sure you have all your questions and concerns answered. I'm having a baby tooth removed due to it finally becoming loose and never having an adult tooth to push through and I talked about implants and bridges as I have a bridge for the same tooth on the other side. They checked over the other bridge work and made sure it was still healthy and strong as I had it done when I was 16 and am now 25. They informed me more about bridges and implants than any dentist I've ever been too. They didn't push implants on me, in fact they told me I'd probably be better off with just another bridge and it'd be cheaper too as well. If I had gone the implant route I'd have to go and get braces all over again to move my teeth around. This is something no one told me at my prior dentist who pushed and pushed implants on me and made me scared of my bone health in my upper jaw, where this place has eased my anxiety and fear.

The most ignorant staff! Refuse to pull my tooth because they make more on a root canal! They don't understand what NO means and even try to put their hands on you when you finally have had enough and walk out ! PLEASE KEEP YOUR FAMILY AND LOVED ONES FAR AWAY!!!!

Don't listen to the low rating! This is the best dental office I've been to thus far. The receptionist was very nice and both the hygienist and dentist were amazing! As someone with anxiety about the dentist, I felt comfortable and relaxed. They weren't judgmental about my cavities as like some of my previous dental encounters and made sure to make small talk during my appointment. They took the time and effort to ensure that x-rays and cleaning were covered by my insurance and kept my cost low. Before I even arrived they had already viewed my x-rays sent over from a previous dentist and were prepared to give me the best possible treatment plan. I highly suggest this office if you're someone looking for affordable care and great bed side manner.

I want to say Thank You to ALL the Staff !!!! Your the Best. Calling and making Appointments is a breeze. My X-rays and Cleaning was a wonderful experience we set up a care plan that day and my second visit to have two extractions of what was left of teeth that have been broken for years was so smooth I was told what was going on and asked how I was doing every step of the way. It was such a relief to have these removed they also both had small infections in them So happy I finally Made the call. I was in slight pain after the numbing wore off and a little the next morning. I can't wait for the rest of my Journey with you : ) 10 * Stars If I could

Had a tooth pulled on lower left bottom side. (My first ever tooth pulled) They had a younger man that was still a dental student perform the procedure. I wasn't comfortable with it from the start. My blood pressure was up and I couldn't stop shaking. Yet he decided to continue. He did 3 shots of novacaine. Said it was enough and started cutting the tooth down. I felt EVERYTHING. Told him my tongue and lips were NOT numb and to stop. He called in the older dentist who put the novacaine needle where it was needed and it kicked in instantly. The student dentist did not put it on the correct spot. 3 times! The older dentist left the room. If I knew what was to come I would have rather he stayed and finished the work. 45 minutes of pulling, breaking, yanking, and more pain... he wasn't even halfway done getting one tooth out. Shift change of assistants and he finished. Or so he said. Refused to give any pain medications or antibiotics and said "Ibuprofen will be your best friend". Not an issue. I had Ibuprofen, ice packs, heating pad, and soups ready for this. Very next morning TREMENDOUS PAIN. I call in and he reluctantly sends in a tylenol 3 script & a z-pack the pharmacy. The meds didn't even begin to touch the pain. There were tooth fragments growing out of my extraction hole. 4 days went by before the office would return a phone call. Said they wouldn't do anything but that he is curious to see what it looks like. F THAT. 1 trip to the ER, 1 trip to Dr. Neil in wolfeboro (amazing man) who referred me to an oral surgeon in Portsmouth. I had a half inch of straight JAW BONE exposed and the gum kept receding down making straight bone exposure the absolute worst pain I have ever experienced in my life. Stronger, antibiotics and a few extra steps my gum is almost fully grown back to its proper place. The pain is non existent. It took 17 days to eat something, to breath through my mouth, to drink something that wasn't room temperature without having intense pain. I'm footing the bill for everything because I signed a waiver before the procedure??? So they can break your jaw (as I read before I signed it) and they aren't held liable? They could really mess up your mouth and never have to return a phone call or get you in right away? They refuse to take responsibility or care after they are at fault. I followed the aftercare instructions to a T. I took the medication as directed. I do NOT recommend anyone go to this office. Dr. Neil in wolfeboro went above and beyond for me. Even after Tamworth Dental did a hack job on my jaw.

TLDR: this office isn't bad. Don't let the reviews scare you. Painless and comforting. Today I had a tooth removed. As someone with panic disorder the thought of going to the dentist for any procedure gives me anxiety. Today was no different. I was nervous and anxious from all the reviews I read about this place from the past year. Not to mention at the time of writing this a 2 star rating. I was pleasantly surprised! Doctor John and his assistant Hope were wonderful! They communicated very well and most of all made me feel safe! They gave me a numbing anesthetic on my gums before I received my derivative of novacain. (I learned about that from John). They walked me over every little detail of the procedure, and made sure I was 100% comfortable and most of all NUMB before they started working on my extraction. I might also add they are very kind and easy to talk to. Unlike other dental experiences I've had, this one was my most comforting. I didn't feel a thing when I was being worked on. It was virtually painless outside of the small pinch from the numbing agent. I was very impressed by the communication between Hope and John. And the fact that they made sure that everything was done properly to set me up for the smoothest recovery. At the time of writing this It has been 90 minutes post op and I am feeling fine. This office is nothing to be feared! They have done great work! Thank you again to John and Hope for your fantastic work! It has been a pleasure to have met you both!

I had been a patient at Tamworth dental center since before Covid hit for a few years Before covid hit this place was not too bad of a place to go but since then it has kind of deteriorated No communication about them not having any hygienists And because of that I had multiple appointments cancelled And just all around bad service The last time I was supposed to go in they gave me a call the day before to let me know I was gonna need x-rays And I tried explaining to them it would have been really nice to know that I was gonna need x-rays so I could have saved the money And when I tried explaining to that they said that they didn't need to notify me that I should know And then hung up on me So I decided to go to my appointment the next day drove an hour there only to find out they had cancelled my appointment

I have low income and was referred to TDC because of that. I had a tooth causing pain and they said an extraction would be free. I got the old dentist and I was glad because he was experienced. Then during the extraction he broke the tooth next to the problem tooth, and the filling came out. I had to pay $1200 for a crown and come back 2X more. They told me $1200 was a discounted price and they made me pay for the crown! Horrible experience, and I ended up spending 4X what I would have (quoted $300 for the extraction by another dentist) if i had gone to a regular dentist. 2/14/21 Update: my crown that I paid $1200 is not fitted properly and has caused decay to the base, so I have to get that crown redone and the cavity it caused filled. Cost is $1500. So a simple extraction has now risen from $300 + $1200 for the broken tooth crowning, + $1500 for a filling and replacement crown. Total cost for extraction at Tamworth Dental is $3000!!!!

Would put zero stars if possible they lie to people about whats going on behind the scenes and try to break up your dental work into as many trips as possible to scam more money and then lie about you missing appointments to not have to deal with you if you don't let them scam you will be contacting a lawyer after what they pulled today

My biggest fear when coming into this place was receiving sub par care. Within 10 minutes that became true. Judy came into the back and immediately got an attitude over the fact that I wrote I needed extractions, crown and a cleaning for work needed. When I made the appointment I explain I was in extreme pain and had been receiving care but couldn't afford to get a crown. There was miscommunication about me having a prior dentist, which is fine and only takes a few minutes to be resolved. What I was told as I had a 30 minute appointment I could get my tooth pulled or receive antibiotics. Throughout the whole process Judy became more agitated. I stated I would no longer like to talk or work with her and was informed she's the primary dental assistant so therefore I will not be receiving care at this location. Which is probably great considering the reviews on terrible dental work. The rest of the staff seemed nice. Incident reported to supervisor.

I had broken a tooth and the cheapest way out of it for me was to get an extraction which I was fine with seeing as how this tooth is a molar and wouldn't disrupt my smile line. I went to Tamworth Dental Center in hopes of an easy extraction but I was entirely wrong. They had a very new dental student preforming the work needed and I tried to give the situation the benefit of the doubt which was my mistake. NEVER have I ever had anxiety about dentists but this guy changed that for me entirely. I was given the maximum amount of Novocain and he began trying to yank my MOLAR out. I was bawling, shaking, and visibly in distress but he proceeded. I could feel everything he was doing and it felt like my jaw bone and my face were literally going to break. I had enough and left with my broken tooth still in tact and in even more pain than I initially had. They had the audacity to say it was just "anxiety". This experience traumatized me for life when it comes to dentists...the days following I couldn't open my mouth because my jaw was so sore and swollen. I'm now consulting a reputable oral surgeon who informed me that I need a sectioned extraction because of the root length of my broken molar and he should've never did what he attempted to do. I'm in disbelief this is allowed.

I brought my daughter and the older dentist scared her so they recommended taking her to a pediatric dentist which I gladly did. Then I myself went a few years later when I cracked a tooth because they help with low cost dental work. It cost me just under $700 for a filling to fix it and I got the younger dentist. He was not confident in his work at all left gauze in my mouth. Bad bed side manner. Said you have to look at it what do you think? Does it look ok? The filing color didnt match my tooth color at all. He asked if it felt numb enough after just a minute of using the meds and when I said no he said well do you want to be numb for hours?? He just had no confidence in his work at all. You should be proud of your work, not asking if its good enough. I am now going to an amazing dentist and not even 2 years after having this work done my new dentist is having to fix this ones work. I am so sorry I wasted my money and time here. I wish I had known.
