Reinhard Lugalia, DDS, says hes always had a passion for making an impact on peoples lives. Giving a patient a smile and the confidence they have been longing for brings me gratification and purpose in life. As a general dentist, Dr. Lugalia will see patients of all ages and will work to diagnose oral health issues to restore patients smiles.
Originally from Nairobi, Kenya, Dr. Lugalia attended Friends University in Wichita, KS on a football scholarship and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the Indiana University School of Dentistry. My upbringing has taught me its always better to give than to receive, says Dr. Lugalia. Being in a position as a dentist brings many opportunities to have lifelong influence on individuals and on the community.
When hes not delivering exceptional care for his patients, Dr. Lugalia and his wife, Dr. Yona Rasynouvong also a dentist at Tallgrass Dental, enjoy spending time with family, hiking, cooking and trying new places to eat. The couple currently reside in Salina and are excited to be a part of the Abilene community.
Yona Rasynouvong, DDS, finds her purpose from helping others. I love working with people and helping others has always been a strong passion of mine. I knew I wanted to pursue a profession that allows me the ability to do that and at the same time make a difference in someones life.
Originally from San Jose, CA, Dr. Rasynouvong has lived in Kansas for more than 20 years. She attended Wichita State University in Wichita, KS and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene. After practicing as a hygienist for more than eight years, Dr. Rasynouvong earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. Having experienced all the different perspectives of oral care starting as a patient to becoming a dental assistant and hygienist the role of a dentist is where I am able to provide the most comprehensive form of dental care for my patients, says Dr. Rasynouvong.
As a general dentist, Dr. Rasynouvong will provide Tallgrass Dental patients with comprehensive dental care, creating treatment plans that are tailored to their individual wants and needs. She is involved with volunteer organizations including the Kansas Mission of Mercy (KMOM), the ADAs Give Kids A Smile program, and most recently, TeamSmile.
When shes not serving patients, Dr. Rasynouvong enjoys cooking and spending quality time with friends and family, including her husband and fellow Tallgrass dentist Dr. Reinhard Lugalia and four children Joey, Toby, Shyla and OB. If given the opportunity to take a year off with pay, she would travel to Laos to experience the culture of her parents native hometown of Southeast Asia.
