Honolulu dentist, Dr. Wade Takenishi graduated from UCLA dental in 1996. He completed a mini residency in Esthetics and Cosmetic Dentistry and was accepted to the Advanced Education in General Dentistry also at UCLA. For one year he studied advanced techniques in Cosmetic, Implant, Restorative, Hospital dentistry, Crown and Bridge, and Removable Dentures. He then returned to Hawaii to join his father Elmer Takenishi in practice in 1997. He has been practicing ever since. Dr. Wade is also one of the two doctors that is a certified CEREC instructor. His focus is on comprehensive care and treating patients like family. He loves what he does and hopes to continue helping care for his patients teeth for many years to come.
Karen is an integral part of Dr. Takenishi's dental practice. Her knowledge of dentistry is only surpassed by her kindness. She has been working with Dr. Takenishi since 2005. Karen is always friendly and ready to help patients. She loves music and doing lab work.
Junko has been in the dental field for over 8 years. Her knowledge of insurance and treatment options makes her extremely valuable to our patients and the staff. She is a fantastic mother and wife. She enjoys traveling and is an avid foodie. She has never had a loco moco.
Momi has over 7 years of dental experience and a heart of gold. Nothing is more important to her than the welfare of our patients. She loves sushi! She is super busy with her husband and family on the weekends. Soccer mom during the weekend and assistant during the week. She is our Cad/Cam specialist and scanning expert.

Postponed my appt due to COVID but finally went in for a cleaning. They did a great job of establishing a system to keep you safe... air purifiers, more PPE, contactless online payment and scheduling. Thanks Dr. Wade and staff!

I broke a tooth and needed a crown. They booked my appointment for the same day. Within 2 hours of arrival, I had my crown and had permanent resolution to the issue. Great people, great work and great service.

I've been avoiding the dentist for years out of fear and anxiety due to some not so great experiences. In fact, before today, I'd only been to the dentist twice in the last 6-7 years. BUT, my experience at Dr. Takenishi's office today changed everything. My hygienist was very warm, always checked-in with me to see how I was doing, and actually took the time to speak with me about what she was seeing/doing. Dr. Takenishi was the same way. And even though I have some issues we'll be working to address in the coming weeks, they always shared with me the positives and it made a huge difference. I never thought I'd say this, but I'm actually looking forward to going back and getting my teeth and gums back to where they should be. Thank you guys very much!

If you are a cash customer without insurance, fillings are more expansive than average. Or if your insurance only covers silver fillings and you want white, the cost is high and they were unwilling to negotiate. Very friendly staff.

I was headed to Honolulu from Minneapolis and my front tooth (veneer) broke in the airport. I emailed Dr. Wade and he welcomed me to an after hours appointment one I arrive in Honolulu. Though it took him until 8:30pm, he stayed and got my veneer replaced. It looks better than my original veneer and he took great care to make sure it matches my other teeth perfectly. Great Dentist, Great Dental Assistant, and even the receptionist was top notch. I would recommend this business to anyone, and I might fly back to Honolulu to get further dental work, simply because this office is top notch.

I don't know about you, but typically I don't walk out of the dentist's office thinking "What a wonderful experience!" but that is exactly how I felt after seeing Dr. Takenishi, Tracy, and the rest of the staff this morning. I had gone in for a second opinion and as you can imagine, that usually isn't a pleasant experience either. However, Tracy made me feel totally at ease, taking the time to ask questions and commiserate about my previous less-than-stellar experience at another dentist's practice that led me here. Dr. Takenishi then came in and after completing his own examination, spent time asking me about my concerns and preferred approach to dentistry. There was no pressure or sales pitch from Dr. Takenishi, and I felt that this is the right fit for me. *Bonus* they also have Japanese speaking staff!

I don't mind going here, though. Everyone is very friendly--reception, hygienist, dentist--and they seem to genuinely care. The great service is much appreciated. This office is impressively up to date in technology, offering crown milling while you wait. How cool is that?! Anyway, we all need a dentist. I choose them.

Dr.Takenishi and his staff are very friendly and good at what they do. I never experience pain when I go in for routine procedures and it helps that he has TVs everywhere to keep your mind occupied. Also, parking is never a problem.

I have been going to Dr. Wade for many years now and just wanted to say that he and his ENTIRE staff make the entire dental process a breeze!! My root canals and crowns along with fillings and filling replacements have been a painless experience. Doc Wade makes sure that the patient is fully comfortable and "numb" so there is no pain and stress!! Plus you can watch ESPN and other live TV shows while you are being worked on! His recent renovations in September give his office a "modern" and contemporary feel....beautiful! I will be sure to not miss any more appointments and my twice a year cleanings!!

My experience at Dr. Wade Takenishi's office was incomparable to any other dental office I have ever been to. He and his staff are very friendly, and willing to go above and beyond to help each patient on a better path to healthy oral care. I'm a little embarrassed to say that all of my previous dentists and their entire offices never gave me the proper education on taking care of my teeth, and now I am paying for it. Dr. Wade and his staff have been so persistent in helping me improve my oral health, and I could not be more thankful for these changes in the right direction. As for the dental appointment experience, his staff are very welcoming, there is little to no wait, and all including Dr. Wade are informing you of what is going on all the time. (No frightful guessing!) The dentist has always been a tense experience, but now that I see Dr. Wade, all of that has changed. I can eagerly say that I recommend Dr. Wade Takenishi to anyone; he and his entire staff are THEE BEST!
