Dr. Kobak was born in Brooklyn, NY and attended college at New York University. He completed dental school at the State University of New York at Buffalo, graduating in 1989 near the top of his class. After graduation, Dr. Kobak was accepted into North Shore University Hospitals general practice residency, and he continued there as chief resident for a second year.

Dr. Kobak became an associate dentist in one of the more prestigious general practices in the area, and he worked in that capacity for three years. In 1994, he opened a private practice in Plainview, NY. In 2011, he built a new facility, to incorporate state-of-the-art dental technology, in Syosset, NY. Dr. Kobak has been a volunteer clinical instructor at Northwell Hospital since 1991 in their general dentistry division and has received many outstanding attending awards including the 2017 Attending of the Year recognition. He lectures and mentors recent dental graduates as they continue their post graduate training.

Dr. Kobak has a passion for dentistry and he invests many hours in continuing education. In 1994, he was one of the youngest dentists to be awarded Fellowship with the Academy of General Dentistry, which recognizes an extensive commitment to advanced education. His Fellowship required over 500 hours of coursework, in which he focused on cosmetic and implant dentistry. Dr. Kobak participates in several dental study clubs and is president of the Greater New York Dentists Association and a past president of the Long Island Dental Study Club. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, The New York State Dental Association, The Nassau County Dental Society and is active on several online dental forums.

Dr. Kobak has been married since 1989 to his wife Amy, who is a physical therapist who works with children with special needs. He has two daughters, Jaime (and a son in law; George) and Blake. He enjoys playing golf, bowling and sports in general.

Dr. Diamantakis was born in Queens, New York and moved to Long Island when he was 8 years old. He grew up in Port Washington for the remainder of his youth and adolescence. Dr. Diamantakis is a graduate of NYU College of Dentistry. He entered his residency program near home at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY. After completing a General Practice Residency at North Shore University Hospital, he accepted a position to stay an additional two years to pursue a chief residency and implant fellowship. During his additional time at the hospital, he gained proficiency in advanced prosthodontics and all aspects of implant dentistry including implant surgery and prosthetics. He is a member of the ADA, AGD, and NYSDA.He is continually broadening his scope of dentistry by being an active member of the Nassau County Dental Society, Mid Island Spears Study Club, and Long Island Study Club.

Dr. Diamantakis family has been a big influence in his life. He is the eldest of three siblings, and a member of a large devoted family. He is married to the love of his life, Dr. Erin Diamantakis, who is an Orthodontist in the Long Island area. They are growing their own family, and have a 2 year old son, Leo. Leo keeps them very busy with his inquisitive and spunky nature. Leo loves reading and playing with his trucks.

Dr. Diamantakis and Dr. Kobak have partnered together to provide quality, state of the art dental care to their patients. Growing their practice in the Syosset area, provides an office that can reach out to many patients around Long Island. By surrounding himself with people that support his ideals, Dr. Diamantakis can focus on his mission in practice to provide a compassionate and comfortable atmosphere, and offer patients the foremost care in all disciplines of dentistry.

Dr. Raxenberg graduated from Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine in 1983. She then completed her general practice residency at Long Island Jewish Hospital (now Northwell Health) in New Hyde Park, NY, and attained her Masters Degree in Public Health from Stony Brook. She has also gained extensive experience providing geriatric care at Parker Nursing Home in New Hyde Park and Margaret Tietz Nursing Home in Queens, NY, as well as attaining a certificate as an associate in the Long Island Geriatric Education Center Consortium.

In addition, Dr. Raxenberg has served as a panelist at Hofstra University during a National Public Health Month event, where she spoke about dentistrys importance to public health, as well as to general health. Subsequent to that, she designed and teaches her own course at Hofstra, Oral Health through the Life Cycle, to students interested in a career in health. Dr. Raxenberg has also been recognized as a Fellow by the Academy of General Dentistry and has previously served as a Board member for the NYS Academy of General Dentistry. She is on staff at Northwell Health, and has served as an instructor to dental residents at LIJ, treating developmentally disabled adult patients.

Dr. Raxenberg is a member of the ADA, AGD, Nassau County Dental Society, American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, and Academy of Laser Dentistry, and volunteers for the Lean on Me support group. Her gentleness, concern, and empathy help her provide a level of care that focuses not only on a patients smile but on the patient as a whole person. She loves taking care of patients, and making them happy to smile again.

Dr. Raxenberg has been married for 38 years to her husband Larry, a CPA, and has two sons, a daughter-in-law, and a granddaughter. Outside of the office, she enjoys crafts, exercising, bicycling, tennis, boating, dancing, decorating, antiques, traveling, theater, and doing volunteer work.

Heather has been a part of Syosset Dental since 2003, and is certified in CPR and AED. She also volunteers with Long Island Harvest. Heather loves meeting new patients, and she cherishes the friendships shes made over the years with our long-term patients. When she isnt helping patients in the office, Heather enjoys reading, writing, and watching The Walking Dead.

Kim graduated from Nassau Community College with an associates degree in psychology and applied sciences. She joined Syosset Dental in 1998, and is certified in the administration of CPR, AED, and first aid. Kim volunteers with Lifes Angels nonprofit organization, helping those whom have been dealt a tough hand. Kim loves helping patients understand and maximize their insurance benefits for necessary treatment. She also enjoys being a part of an office that allows her to watch families grow and be a part of it. Outside of the office, Kim is involved in PAL intramural volleyball, and considers the beach her happy place.

Nikki joined our team in 2021, and formerly worked as a professional Cosmetologist and Makeup Artist. She has earned certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Infection Control. Nikki loves learning about the dental field. She also loves the fact that her patients feel like family. Outside of work, Nikki often volunteers her time receiving and distributing food for the homeless. Her hobbies include all things beach related, traveling, indoor painting, and playing with her dog.

Kerri graduated from SUNY Farmingdale in 1989 and has been a part of Syosset Dental since 1994. She is certified in CPR, AED, and Dental Infection Prevention and Control. Kerri also has a certificate as an OSHA Safety Manager Specialist and is an OSHA/Infection Control Consultant. She is a member of the Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention and the high school PTA. Kerri has treated many of her patients for more than 25 years and is fortunate to have wonderful relationships with them, with many even feeling like family. She loves coming into the office each day and having the opportunity to work alongside the most skilled dentists in the field. She, and the rest of the Syosset Dental team, always strives to provide patients with the highest standard of care in a friendly environment. Outside of work, Kerri enjoys playing tennis, baking, and spending time with family and friends.

Dana graduated in 2005 from the New York University College of Dentistry, and joined our practice in 2020. She has obtained special certifications in local anesthesia, nitrous oxide sedation, CPR, and AED. Dana is dedicated to delivering the highest standard of care to her patients, and loves being part of their journey to full systemic health. She appreciates the opportunity to educate our patients about their oral health, and looks forward to making them feel comfortable and ensure they enjoy their experience. She always takes the time to truly get to know our patients. When not in the office, Dana enjoys tea parties with her daughter, as well as kayaking, reading, and playing Mahjong.

Originally from So Paulo, Brazil, Cristiane moved to New York in 2006 where she later joined our team in 2021 with 18 years of experience! She completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of So Paulo and then finished her Associate in Applied Science from the New York City College of Technology. Cristiane has also obtained advanced certifications in CPR and the administration of nitrous oxide and anesthesia.

Cristiane has volunteered with SOS EB Kids since 2018 and helped create a dental department in the NGO. She also co-authored Dental Protocol in Patients with Epidermolysis Bullosa. As a dental hygienist, she provides the highest quality dental care with an emphasis on patients needs and developing long-term relationships with them. Cristianes hobbies include hiking, road biking, yoga, baking, and she is an avid animal lover, too!

Nikki has been a part of Syosset Dental since 2007 and is certified in CPR and AED. She studied anatomy/physiology and nutrition at PBCC. Nikki loves the science behind dentistry. She is always learning something new and enjoys the feeling of having a second family at our practice. She also loves getting to know her patients and watching them and their families grow up through the years.

Denise has been a dental assistant at Syosset Dental since 2014, and is certified in CPR and AED. She loves having the ability to help others, making patients feel at ease and seeing them smile on the way out of the office. Denise also enjoys birdwatching, live music, arts and crafts, animals, and anything outdoors.

Lauren joined our team in 2021. She earned her degree in Business Administration from Suny Suffolk County Community College in 2004, and has completed certifications in CPR, the use of the AED, and infection control. Lauren loves working alongside great dentists in a friendly environment and doing something that matters. She enjoys listening to her patients stories and making sure they feel comfortable and important when they are in our care! When not in the office, Lauren likes baking, concerts, attending Mets games, going to the beach, and spending time with family.

We wanted to inform everyone of some of the details regarding the logistical and physical changes we have instituted to keep our patients, staff and doctors safe, healthy and comfortable going forward. Our dental team has all had the recommended testing and we will be doing daily temperature checks. If any staff member exhibits any signs or symptoms of illness, they will be asked to stay at home.

We will have limited, spaced seating in the reception area and try to bring you directly to the treatment room. Once seated in the treatment room, we will be utilizing a rinse for every patient, which significantly helps reduce germs prior to treatment. After treatment we will expedite the checkout process to minimize interactions with others. Additionally, we will do as much as possible after you leave the office on the phone.

As most of you know, our practice has always utilized universal precautions and we will continue to meet or exceed all CDC and OSHA infection control guidelines, but we have now also added many extra layers of protection.

We hope this information answers many of your questions and alleviates any of your concerns.
