Dr. Farhan Syed was born and raised in the South Bay Area. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Biological and Agricultural Engineering from the University of California, Davis. He went on to obtain his Doctorate in Dental Medicine (DMD) from the University of Pittsburgh, in Pennsylvania. After completing his dental education, he joined his mother, Dr. Rafia Syed, at Syed Dental Care. He is an active member of the Santa Clara Dental Society.
Dr. Farhan Syed is a part-time clinical and preclinical faculty member at the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry. He also keeps himself updated on the latest technologies and treatments by frequently taking dental education courses. He takes pride in providing a comprehensive, caring, and individualized approach to treatment that will meet your specific needs.
Dr. Rafia Syed (Retired) established Syed Dental Care in Santa Clara in 1991. She obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) with Honors in 1975 from the University of Sind, an accredited educational institute located in Jamshoro, Pakistan. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her 10 grandchildren, sewing, and volunteering at our local mosque.

Today, I visited Syed Dental for one of my regular cleaning. I met a new Dental Assistant, Asmahaa (I hope I spelled her name correctly). She polished, flossed my teeth one by one. I could not resist but to tell her that she is very meticulous in her work. Dr. Farhan appreciated my teeth being pretty well maintained and find them in good shape. I kind of cheated and didn't tell him that it was his DA who made my teeth look so good right before he walked in. Syed Dental has helped me maintain my teeth since 1992 and I can attest to their professionalism.

Great service, great staff and great doctors. This is a family business and they care about their patients and their well being. I have come to this office for 21 years and only had amazing dental care and service for me and my family. I cannot recommend them enough.

There were some recommendations given and a couple cavities found. Costs are very affordable and there was no pressure on getting anything done at their convenience as per time or money, things I have experienced from others in the past.

Today, I visited Syed Dental for one of my regular cleaning. The fact that Syed Dental is open on Sundays is a huge advantage for me. Dr. Farhan Syed has a very soft hand. He cleans my teeth with no pain at all. If it were not for him, I would not be as motivated to visit dentist office. I met a new Dental Assistant, totally forgot to ask her name. She flossed and polished my teeth thoroughly. It was evident that she was working on maintaining high customer satisfaction score. I must also extend my gratitude to the office manager for inculcating "customer first" attitude in the every staff member.

I really enjoy continuing to utilize their services. Their professionalism and explanation of the service is helpful and their flexibility in schedule, sternness in what is needed to keep your teeth healthy and chomping on good food is the big sister I never had. All staff are warm and welcoming! Dr. Farhan was very thorough and friendly. He listened to all my concerns. He explained the diagnosis and the treatment process. Also, he did some research to see if a specialist will be required. Highly recommend Dr. Farhan Syed!! Already recommended him to my family and friends.

I have been going to 'Syed Dental' for last 18+ years and can only offer nothing but the high praises for this practice. The entire staff is professional, courteous, caring, and knowledgeable. I have been treated by Dr. Rafia herself and am now seeing her son, Dr. Farhan. He is very knowledgable and communicates well about existing issue(s) / treatments or any signs of potential issue and its remedy. He is always conscientious of what is best for his patients and tries to be understanding and accommodating of his patients' needs. I strongly recommend this Dental practice.
