Before being educated and trained as a dentist, Dr. Phillips received her BS degree from UCLA School of Public Health in Nutritional Science and spent five years as a dietary consultant. She directly recognizes the value of correct dental function as it pertains to chewing, diet and total health. Dr. Phillips graduated from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in 1975. She started coming to San Luis Obispo in 1978 pursuing her interest in Arabian horses. She is an avid rider and former breeder. Following graduation, Dr. Phillips continued studying implant dentistry and began placing implants in her own private practice. In 1984 she decided to make San Luis Obispo her home and the Swiss Dental Center was born.
Dr. Phillips believes in Swiss techniques for replacing teeth and developing characteristic smiles. Each patient interacts with us to combine their personal and family characteristics with the sound principles of harmony and golden proportions found in nature, mathematics and art.
She and Les, her husband of fifty-three years, have two grown sons, a commercial pilot and a film editor. She and Les share a love of motor sports, cycling, Arabian Horses and their two grandsons Corbin and Alden. As avid cyclists, they attend the Amgen Tour every year.
She enjoys many creative outlets drawing, photography, cooking, playing the piano and continuing to grow in her knowledge and application of the latest innovations in implant dentistry. She is a passionate student and instructor after 30 plus years of dentistry she continues to commit a large portion of her time to the latest research and development in her field.

I've been in this office three times and every time, every single employee is SO kind and accommodating. They give you a tour of the office your first visit and even a little gift bag and they have a comfort menu they give you with things like blankets, pillows, ear plugs, lip moisturizer, tea...etc. They truly care to make you comfortable. I have panic disorder and they were happy to give me sedatives so the experience would be smooth. I was able to have two fillings and prep for a crown yesterday all at once. The temporary crown is so comfortable and well made. Like a real tooth but just with a temporary crown texture. The only soreness I have today is being mildly tender from the shots. I'm already able to eat soft foods on that side today. I would strongly recommend going here if you have anxiety at the dentist. Best dental experience hands down. I will not be going anywhere else from here on out!

I have been a patient of Dr Phillips at Swiss Dental for more then 20 years and I can't recommend her services highly enough. I can smile confidently now and I always get compliments on my "pearly whites". If you want 5 starr dentistry this is the place.

The staff has been amazing! My kid has a anxiety disorder and they are so gentle with her and let her take breaks or whatever she needs. They also have a tv in each room so you get to pick whatever you what to watch on Netflix lol you have to check it out! It's unbelievable

I love the staff at Swiss dental they changed my life. Dr Phillips is the best in the business I would not go to anybody else but her. They treat me with respect I love the cleanliness and the atmosphere I just love the people there I love their work I would recommend it to anyone

The work I had done at Swiss Dental changed my life. Broken and missing teeth along with an infection had my health in a state of decline. I was embarrassed, in pain and very afraid. The staff at Swiss Dental clearly explained my different options and plans, and worked with me to make things happen. I had never been so frightened, how ever the staff was prepared, compassionate and reassuring every step of the way. My final results were absolutely amazing I couldn't be happier I wish I had found Swiss dental earlier. Thank you Dr Phillips and staff at Swiss Dental for restoring my life and my smile!

I wish I had gone to Dr Phillips years ago! I've had issues with a terrible partial on the bottom from a prior dentist. I found Dr Phillips through the wellness show. I'm so thankful for my new bottom implants. Then I saw her again talking about permenant dentures so I made an appointment to talk about it and Swiss dental made it happen for me. The procedure was almost painless as I had to have bone grafting. Permanent dentures are Great because I was able to Design my own Teeth!! I highly recommend Dr Phillips to my family, friend and co-workers!

Greatest Dental Office Ever! Dr. Carol Phillips is a highly skilled implantologist oral surgeon. Her Swiss Dental Center handles all phases of treating or replacing teeth. I have been a patient there for over 30 years. There is never a reason to look elsewhere. Dr. Phillips and her staff will have you SMILING FOR LIFE!!
