Prior to the foundation of Swift Creek Dental Center, Dr. Matthew Estes completed his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the Virginia Commonwealth University in 2011. After some time spent at a private practice in Lynchburg, he returned to his hometown of Midlothian to offer his dental services to those in his community. Dr. Estes takes pride in providing advanced services to his patients, and that is why he holds certifications in Laser Dentistry, Invisalign, and Clear Correct.
Dr. Jefferey Koelmel completed his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the VirginiaCommonwealth University in 2011. Upon completion of his education and a residency in New York, he began practicing at a dental office in Williamsburg. It was at this point that he joined Dr. Matthew Estes at Swift Creek Dental Center. Dr. Koelmel is passionate about providing his patients with a high level of care. He carries certifications in both Laser Dentistry and Invisalign to ensure those who he treats have access to up-to-date treatment options.
When Dr. Koelmel is not in the office, you can find him spending time with his wife Dana, his two children, and their pug Barney! He also finds himself cheering on the Buffalo Bills and the Buffalo Sabres. Dr. Koelmel likes to stay active in his free time by golfing and exercising. In addition to his leisureactivities, he also volunteers with Caritas, the MOM Project, and the Jamaica Project.
Melody graduated from Wytheville Community College in 2004 with certifications in the safe administration of local anesthesia and nitrous oxide. Shes been working in dentistry for well over a decade and says she loves working at Swift Creek Dental Center because everyone is a team player with the same goal of providing high-quality dental care to every single patient who visits the office. Melody will tell you that she chose a career in dentistry because of the registered dental hygienist that she had growing up. She inspired her to help others feel healthy and confident. When shes not busy at the office taking care of teeth, Melody likes to stay busy having fun with her husband, their two children, and dog. She also enjoys cooking, running, skiing, and going on fun adventures with her kids.
Courtney has been with Swift Creek Dental Center since it first opened its doors well over a decade ago. Shes been working in dentistry for over 30 years and is still going strong. Courtney will tell you that one of the best things about working here for so long is all of the beautiful, confident smiles shes helped over the years. She loves being a part of a team where everyone goes out of their way each day to make patients feel comfortable and at ease during treatment. Courtney is loyal, compassionate, and enjoys spending time with her family outside of work. Shes married with two daughters and three granddaughters.
Sharon brings nearly three decades of dentistry experience to the Swift Creek Dental Center family and says she loves her job because she wants to help people feel good about themselves and their smile. When shes not taking care of smiles, youll probably see Sharon keeping busy in the office as a clinical coordinator and as a specialist for all things insurance. Sharon says shes proud to be a part of our dental family for two reasons: (1) we take great pride in caring for patients and treating them like family and (2) we go the extra mile for our patients. If you have questions, ask Sharon. Shes worked in almost every job in the office. Youll most likely find Sharon volunteering with Clover Hill Church, spending time with her family including her husband, two kids, and their dog. Sharon also loves kayaking, fishing, and reading.
Alida has been working in dentistry for close to two decades, and shes been part of the Swift Creek Dental Center family for over ten years. She decided to pursue a career in dentistry after undergoing orthodontic treatment when she was younger. She also loves her job as a dental hygienist because she genuinely helps people get and stay healthy. Youll probably see Alida helping patients, doing cleanings, and assisting her fellow team members to ensure everyone has a happy, comfortable visit to the office, no matter what their treatment need may be. Outside of the office, Alida loves volunteering with Caritas and the Goochland Free Clinic, hiking, traveling and reading. She also enjoys spending time with her husband, two kids, and the family pets.
