Dr. Nielsen grew up here in Parker. After dental school, she completed two advanced dental residencies, one at University Hospital, and the second at The Children's Hospital in Denver. She has been practicing Pediatric Dentistry for over 15 years. Combining the knowledge gained from her dental training and the patience and practicalities earned from being a mom, Dr. Beth has mastered the art of Dentist providing superior dental care with a compassionate chair side manner.
Dr. Beth is a Diplomate, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and an active member of the Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Colorado Dental Society, Metro Denver Dental Society, Southwest Society of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Parker Chamber of Commerce. She is also an active member in the community supporting our local schools with donations, sponsorships, hosting field trips to our office, and providing educational school visits in the classrooms. Dr. Beth encourages healthy life choices by supporting various school walk a thons and fun runs. Although Dr. Beth is generous with her service here in our community, it does not end there-she has a heart for children all over the world. Her donations to world projects include Haiti, Peru, Ecuador, Ethiopia, and countless other countries that have need for better oral health care.
Dr. Beth Nielsen's practice, Sweetpea Children's Dentistry, opened in June of 2007 and is conveniently located near Jordan Rd. and Lincoln Avenue. Our 2300 sq. foot facility is colorful and clean. We offer a spacious reception area equipped with video games, toys, movies, and books. We have a large open bay where children can enjoy the company of parents and siblings as they receive a thorough cleaning by our excellent staff. The office also provides two comfortable quiet rooms for patients with treatment needs. Hospital care is available when needed; Dr. Beth has surgical privileges at The Children's Hospital, one of the nation's top 5 hospitals for children.
Dr. Ashley Barefoot is a mother of two and an experienced board certified pediatric dentist. She treats each patient like a member of her own family and understands that your child is unique. Identifying each familys individual needs helps Dr. Ashley provide fun, comfortable, and educational experiences for children and parents alike.
Dr. Ashley earned a Bachelors of Arts in Biology at the University of Missouri-Columbia and graduated Cum Laude. Immediately following graduation, she was accepted into dental school at the University of Missouri-Kansas City where she earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery and was awarded Dental Student of the Year for her hard work and commitment to the field of dentistry. She then went on to complete her pediatric dental residency at the prestigious Childrens Hospital Colorado. During her residency she received specialized training in treating healthy and medically compromised infants, children, and adolescents. She specialized in treating those with special healthcare needs and craniofacial abnormalities. She is also trained in emergency dental care, hospital dentistry, and the growth and development of children.
Highly regarded in her profession, Dr. Ashley is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She has been voted a 5280 Top Pediatric Dentist and is on staff at Childrens Hospital. She is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Colorado Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Metro Denver Dental Society. She has lectured to general dentists, pediatricians, and other professionals on current topics in pediatric dentistry. To stay current on the latest dental technology and techniques, Dr. Ashley regularly attends continuing education courses and keeps updated with the newest research. She also stays active in local community outreach programs to further educate families on the importance of oral health.
In her personal life, Dr. Ashley is married to Dr. Brooks Barefoot, a local orthodontist, and has two daughters. Her family enjoys all things Colorado. They love to ski, hike, mountain bike, watch Disney movies, and enjoy spending time together as a family.
Our office provides specialized dentistry for children and adolescents in a warm, caring and child-friendly environment. As pediatric dentists, our 2-3 years of additional training after dental school has prepared us for the unique dental needs of each child we serve.

My son (8) had major work done at another dentist and has been extremely afraid of dentists offices. Our first visit here he was so afraid of the dentist that I had to carry him in, and he had an anxiety attack. We hung out played video games and took a tour of the office once he calmed down. We are here at our second attempt and here is the result, he was clearly nervous but not only did he walk in by himself but you can see he was nervous in the first picture but was a rockstar!! Took my son for his first cleaning and had a great experience. He had a lot of anxiety before we went in but he felt comfortable in the waiting room and during the exam. Everyone was very friendly and nice to him and the exam/cleaning was quick.

I highly recommend Sweetpea to other parents! We had our first dental cleaning/xray visit with my 2 kids this week (3.5 yr old and 22 mo old) and both kids were done simultaneously! I came in honestly expecting to be stressed out managing 2 young kids and can honestly say I never felt stressed even once. Staff was fantastic with my kids and got their full cooperation. My 22 mo old of course fussed a little and I focused on him mostly, while the other dental assistant had my 3.5 yr old giggling, happy, and proud of himself. HE LEFT SAYING, "I LIKE GOING TO THE DENTIST"! He also loved the really cool video games in the waiting lobby of course. All the staff is so nice and their office is just all around high quality. Dr. Ashley was very kind and so personable; we had a great conversation and she is passionate about children. You feel really welcomed here. I'm just blown away and want to say thank you Sweatpea for such a great experience and we look forward to our next visit!

Sweetpea Children's Dentistry is nothing short of amazing! Our 4 year old daughter had a dental emergency which as a Mom, left me filled with fear, anxiety, and worry. Sweetpea Dentistry (Dr. Ashley) alleviated all of my fears! I left feeling reassured and comforted that we had found the dentist we had long been searching for and dreamed of. When we asked our daughter how she felt the visit went, she gave it a million out of 10! I would consider that a success! I can say as a Mother of two young children, this IS THE PLACE you only dream of when searching for the perfect dentist for your child. The grace, gentleness, and kindness shown is truly unrivaled. Every child should be lucky enough to experience this much love, attention, and compassion during their dental visits.

We love this office. The facility is clean. The staff is friendly, efficient and informative. Our four kids get cleanings all at once, which is very convenient. We've been coming for a couple of years and have had both Dr. Beth Nielsen and Dr. Ashley Barefoot, who are both great. Highly recommend.

Took my boys (four and two) here today and could not have asked for a better experience! The staff was all so sweet and welcoming, they made them feel comfortable so the cleanings were a breeze! My oldest needed x-rays and the girls were so kind and fun with him through it. Then Dr. Ashley saw them, quick and painless! Cannot recommend them enough!

I absolutely love this place, had to get 4 teeth removed before getting braces to make room for my teeth to move. The doctors and staff were very friendly and informative. I was super nervous but by the end of the process I felt so comfortable, and it ended up being a breeze. Thanks Sweetpea!!

I took my niece here for a consultation regarding her tooth that had been giving her problems for a couple of weeks. Everyone here is so friendly and caring, they really care about their patients and do everything they can to make sure they're comfortable! Doctor Ashley was very sweet and patient with my niece and her dental anxiety. I will be coming back!

I took my nephew here, and he absolutely loved it. The staff was very understanding and patient with him. He can be very energetic and they handled him perfectly. He was so happy, now he likes to play dentist and keeps asking everyone to open wide lol.

Doctor Ashley is wonderful with children, their staff is so friendly and inviting. Took my twin brothers here, because they kept complaining about their mouths hurting. Turns out their wisdom teeth were coming in sideways! Doctor Ashley was able to refer us to a great orthopedic surgeon to take care of their needs. Thank guys!

I took my 2.5 year old daughter to her first dental appointment with Dr. Beth. Marisol and Dr. Beth were amazing. My wife and I were so nervous and didn't know if my daughter would be scared, or start kicking or screaming during the cleaning and examination, but she had so much fun and enjoyed her visit. Will be bringing in my 1 year old together with her sister at the next visit.
