I am product of the community I serve: I know how caring, strong, and resourceful it is; I know the challenges we face and surmount; I know the diversity of experiences and life paths, and how each persons stories and knowledge enrich us all.
Growing up, I knew I wanted to be a healthcare provider in some form. At the same time, I was drawn to art and loved doing crafts that involved creating with my hands. I chose to enter the dental field after I was introduced to the craft by my older brother, Dr. Edward Mack (Mack Endodontics in Memphis, Tennessee).
As a dentist, I do not take my role as a healthcare provider lightly: I have seen the effects a lack of access to dentistry can have on a person. It is my mission to change the view of dental care in underserved communities, as well as give those same communities access to the latest technologies and procedures that are able to properly assess and address their fundamental needs.
One of the most fascinating aspects of dentistry is the ongoing advancement. I seek to constantly challenge myself in all aspects of my craft to ensure that I am at my best to face any dental need my patients may have.
I am particularly interested in technological innovations, and incorporating those the best of those into patient care. I am excited to offer leading-edge dental services to underserved populations, improving individuals health and wellbeing.
These professional organizations offer numerous opportunities for continual learning. I take advantage of all that allow me to broaden my knowledge and hone my skills in order to best serve those who trust me with their care.
I am honored to be able to help others beyond providing dental services. I am a co-founder of Project DReam, a non-profit created to get kids in underserved communities interested in careers in healthcare.
I am also active in the AGF Academy as a volunteer mentor. In this organization, we mentor young African-American males whom are products of broken families and communities, serving as supportive male figures in the many facets of their lives.
I am passionate about artistic expression in multiple ways, so I created two companies to satisfy those needs outside of dentistry: Eye of Elohim is my photography and videography company and SweetGrass Clothing CO. is my clothing brand.

My experience at SweetGrass Dental was phenomenal. The office was clean, and the staff was very friendly. Painless dentistry all around. Dr Mitchell is the best dentist ever.

This was by far one of the best dental experiences I've had in a while. I definitely appreciate quick and to the point service. Dr. Mitchell and team are extremely professional and provided exceptional customer service. The girls up front keep the place moving like a well oiled machine, which is very important to people like me who are always short on time. This was my first visit to a dentist in a minute and they made this the best experience! I was freaking out on the inside, but Kalani and Dr. Mitchell were so thorough and explained everything in detail before doing it, so it helped calm me. Never have I had a dentist so thorough and friendly.I highly recommend Dr. Mitchell and his staff!

Thanks for telling me that the Dr said that he doesn't do rootCanals on back molars when I had an appointment the next day now I have to struggle to find another dentist that takes my medicaid smh

Amazing experience, the team was very professional, polite and very knowledgeable about sharing the details of my check up. They even put up x-ray's on the tv and explained the condition of my fillings, how over time the materials have changed and the importance of being able to understand the X-ray and identifying early cavities and potential root or gum problems. They even had an x-ray scanner that you stand up at and it takes your x-ray by circling your head. Again great experiance, and I will be recommending friends and family to go! Thanks Dr. Mitchell and team!

My teeth were in awful shape because as a single mom, I put off my needs in order to pay for braces and the dental health of my children. I was referred to Dr. Mitchell by my cousin Shamar who recently had work done & his teeth looked amazing ! I had two ( very damaged) fillings that fell out years ago along with a chipped tooth and discoloring. I was hopefully optimistic that my teeth could be salvaged? It took about 3 appointments and after a painless procedure ( because my mouth was numbed perfectly ! ), I can smile without holding my head down !!! Dr. Mitchell always explained to me what he was about to do and the staff was very professional ! Ms. Benita was always willing to answer any questions needed and made everything pleasant! I am a VERY HAPPY customer for life!!

Due to the pandemic, before scheduling my dental appointment I spoke to Dr. Mitchell and asked about the measures that were put in place to protect patients from Covid 19 while in the office. I was assured that there were ample measures in place such as all persons continuously wearing masks, regular sanitizing, social distancing, etc in order to reduce a patient's and the staff's exposure. I was satisfied with the information that I was provided and decided to move forward and made an appointment. When I arrived for my scheduled appointment I immediately saw that the receptionist was not wearing a mask after being assured that all staff would be. When Dr. Mitchell entered the room to attend to me, I noticed that his mask was pulled down and positioned such that his nose and mouth were fully exposed while he was speaking to me. I politely asked him to please wear his mask correctly and he did not honor the request right away. During the examination he did properly wear the mask however I noticed that he was clearing his throat as if to stifle a cough. In essence the ONLY reason I scheduled the appointment here was because I was assured that I would be somewhat protected due to their active preventative measures. This did not happen and I left my appointment feeling very uneasy that I may have exposed myself and consequently my family to Covid 19. Unfortunately I will not be returning for care.
