Dr. Dobbins is one of the few dentists in North America to be residency trained in orthodontics and pediatric dentistry. The result is an engaged, better-aware, and informed parent who becomes an active partner in the treatment plan and design.
Dr. Dobbins is an active member in many dental associations including the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) and the American Association of Orthodontics (AAO). Dr. Dobbins is always eager to learn the latest and most innovative techniques to assist in treatment. He has an individualized approach and the compilation of extensive dental expertise that plays a vital role in smile design.
Dr. Dobbins was born and raised in Mesa, AZ where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 4.00 GPA from Arizona State University. Following his undergraduate education, he took a two-year hiatus to volunteer as a missionary for his church in Boston, Massachusetts.
After which he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree from SUNY Buffalo School of Dental Medicine and later earned an orthodontic Certificate from The University of Oklahoma, the #1 orthodontic training program in the country. He followed this time by working as an orthodontist in Overland Park and then finishing a pediatric dental residency at New York University (NYU).
Dr. Dobbins enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. His hobbies include an array of sports and outdoor activities. He and his family are active members of their local church and feel blessed to call Overland Park their home.
Dr. Mullenaux was blessed with the privilege of being a twin. His twin brother taught him to love life and find joy in it even while his twin suffered from both mental and physical disabilities resulting from birth trauma.
While in his youth, Dr. Mullenaux learned to see and love the greatness of those with disabilities. This has driven his passion for dentistry, working with children, and especially children with special needs. Dr. Mullenaux obtained a bachelors degree in Biological Sciences from ASU, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He then attended the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health where he served as President of the Pediatric Dental Study Society and as Co-Chairman of the Universitys Give Kids a Smile committee.
After dental school Dr. Mullenaux attended New York University (NYU) Langones Pediatric Dental Residency Program in Yakima, Washington. He then began work as a pediatric dentist in Leavenworth, Kansas before moving to Johnson County with his family and joining Sweet Tooth. Dr. Mullenaux truly enjoys working with children and more importantly, learning from them. Dr. Mullenaux is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Kansas Dental Association, the American Dental Association, and is a Pediatric Dental Specialist.
Dr. Mullenaux and his wife, Dustynn, have four very active and fun-filled children. As a family, they love being outdoors, making friends, and serving in their church and in the community around them.

This is the most accommodating, clean, professional and expert level dentist and orthodontic business I've ever had the pleasure of bringing my 4 kids too. My kids love the staff and feel safe and at ease when they get their teeth worked on. I'd recommend to all!

I scheduled two appointments for my two sons, I provided all the information in advance including the insurance information and the team (including their manager) did nothing, they did not check the information even though they say they would, they blamed my insurance company when everything is in order, and they basically wasted my time and my family's and instead of apologizing they tried to blame it on me. Worst service level ever. UPDATE It is INCREDIBLE how people lie just to to try to make you delete your comment, (which was asked to me in a text message sent by owner directly). Because I didn't delete my comment now they are trying yo make me look as the bad guy. Nobody offered me anything for free nor I asked for free service (I would have payed for it if that had been an option), and my Insurance is active and valid, so is the case that my sons already went with a much more capable dentist. Finally, yes, I was impatience because I sent the information of my insurance 5 days in advance before the appointment via text message, I got confirmation that you received it and nobody contacted me after that nor did anything with it, please don't lie you just make yourself look so un-profesional.

The staff at Sweet Tooth Pediatric Dentistry is amazing! Everyone from the from desk staff to the dentist put my apprehensive child at ease immediately and were kind and professional throughout the appointment. I highly recommend the practice.

It's a very nice dental office for children to feel comfortable and confident about getting their teeth taken care of. Initial experience with Front desk would I say OK as I was told the insurance wasn't taken taken but not really research until I asked and it ended up being covered however young lady was nice but just needs to be a little bit more thorough and always research. My daughter liked the hygentist who cleaned her teeth and dentist was nice and friendly! Office was clean and so pink! My dsughter loved she gets a prize after your service a chance to spin the wheel, for children this is well worth a little dental work.

If I could give this less stars, I would. We've been Dr. Prater patients for 8 years. Sweet Tooth came in and ruined everything. We waited for over an hour. The office has been sloppily repainted and "remodeled" which looks terrible and rushed. They have no idea what they are doing as they were training staff as they went. They never checked us in and we didn't even show on the schedule. I had to approach the desk twice before being seen. While taking X-rays I got 10 minutes of excuses that they never make anyone wait longer than 5 minutes. We will never return. I didn't even make it to the car before I was calling a new dentist for my kids. The only bright side was Mandy, our favorite dental hygienist, but since she is also leaving, we will never return.
