Amie is a registered dental hygienist who earned her degree in Dental Hygiene from Tunxis Community College. For over 25 years she has been fulfilled working with children in the pediatric dental setting. Amie enjoys family life with her husband Marcel, their children Amanda and Andrew, and rescue puppy Jennie. In spare time she likes cooking, baking, decorating, and fun on the lake where she resides in Bristol.

Receiving her degree in dental hygiene from the Forsyth School for Dental Hygiene in 1990, Beth has been devoted to dentistry as her career. She has specialized in pediatrics for over 20 years and is thrilled to be able to care for so many children and adolescents over the years. Beth grew up locally in Durham, CT and remains rooted in the area. Beth enjoys home decorating, beach vacations and loves spending time with her family - especially her daughters Jennie and Faith.

Robin is a registered dental hygienist who graduated from Tunxis Community College with a degree in Dental Hygiene. As our Public Relations Coordinator, she enjoys providing a fun and educational experience at the local preschool dental health programs she participates in. She resides in Southington with her husband Shawn and their cat Zoey. She has two grown children, Eric and Melissa. In her free time, she enjoys exploring her creative side through photography, antiquing and DIY projects.

Lori grew up in Durham and graduated from Coginchaug Regional High School. She went on to graduate from the dental assisting program at Briarwood College and became a Certified Dental Assistant. She loves working with children and has been working at this office since August 2003. Lori lives in Rock Fall with her son Kyle.

Ann Marie is a Certified Dental Assistant who graduated from Manchester Community College's accredited dental assistant program in 2016. She has always enjoyed working with children - before dentistry she was a nanny and a counselor at a children circus camp (she can stilt!). She lives locally with her husband, their two children Cecelia and Elliott, and her dog Harper.

Kate attended Central Connecticut State University majoring in Elementary Education and also has a background working as an administrative officer. She enjoys being able to combine working with children and her administrative background into the job she loves! Kate loves spending time with her husband, Gerry and three children Taylor, Andrew and Nicolette. Kate also loves to do DIY projects (mostly ones that involve painting) and exercise.

Natalie is our newest Patient Care Coordinator at the office. She grew up in Kensington and attended Central Connecticut State University for Organizational Communications and Marketing. Natalie enjoys taking her Cavalier King Charles puppy, Reese, on walks in West Hartford, where she lives. In her spare time she loves traveling to New York to visit her parents, cooking and going to the beach.

Ryan is the Practice Administrator, as well as Dr. Ericas husband. Formerly a mechanical engineer, Ryan earned his Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Duke University (where he met Dr. Erica!). He also holds an MBA from the University of Hartford, which helps him run the business side of Sweet Tooth. Ryan loves spending his free time with his son, Wesley, and Bernese Mountain Dog, Piper.

Dr. Erica Pitera, or Dr. Erica as she goes by in the office, grew up locally in Cromwell, CT and graduated from Cromwell High School. She went on to receive her BS in biology from Duke University. She earned her DMD at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine and was awarded for achievement in dental care for patients with special needs and for her leadership in the American Student Dental Association. Dr. Erica then completed a two-year specialty residency program in pediatric dentistry at Columbia University/New York Presbyterian Hospital.

Dr. Erica is a board certified pediatric dentist who specializes in providing comprehensive oral care to all pediatric and adolescent patients in Middletown and surrounding Connecticut communities. In addition to her many professional memberships, she is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a member of the medical staff at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford. She values continuing education and strives to stay up to date with all the latest dental treatments and techniques

Growing up with a brother with special needs, Dr. Erica has developed a great deal of patience and understanding for helping children of all abilities. From a young age she knew she wanted to be a pediatric dentist so she could help children like her brother have a positive dental experience. She prides herself in providing quality care in a friendly and special way, and strives to make visits to the dentist fun for all kids.

Beyond dentistry and caring for children, another one of Dr. Ericas passions is baking. Although this is a bit ironic for a dentist, she has always used baking as an expression of her artistic side and, of course, to satisfy her sweet tooth. She teaches children to maintain a healthy lifestyle, while still being able to have a special treat once in a while! Some of her sweet creations can be found on her popular baking blog Ericas Sweet Tooth.

Ive been taking my child here since she was four. We recently switched insurance and i am only asking them to post date a payment until January. Our insurance already paid 80% of that payment. They said no. I havent been able to get my daughter to the dentist for this reason. The doctor was great but thats where it stops. Money comes over my childs health. That is the message i got. 80% isnt enough to post date a payment apparently. So disappointed to have to switch dentists, we really liked them.

Was referred to Dr. Erica by my child's dentist for a challenging cavity. This was the most amazing child pediatric experience I've had. The place is awesome (they have a TV on the ceiling with Netflix and Disney+), the staff is very friendly and they exactly how to make kids feel comfortable. Highly recommended!!!

Tech was great that did the cleaning but the actual female dentist was rude and unprofessional when my husband brought my 3 years old son. She was very dismissive and stayed that she was taking time off so wouldn't treat my child. I think the 5 stars they got goes to the Techs. The dentist does not have the personality to be working with small children.

Sweet Tooth is amazing all-around!! The front office staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. The techs and assistants are very talented, warm and friendly with both kids and adults. Dr. Erica is truly amazing with kids and has a calm, nurturing energy that puts kids at ease. Both my daughters (ages 4 and 7) had multiple visits at Sweet Tooth recently with significant dental work done. Dr. Erica talked them through everything, gave them breaks as needed and let's not forget the prize box and fabulous kid-friendly waiting room. I highly recommend Sweet Tooth for all ages!

If I could give this place zero stars I would! My kids have been going there since babies. I noticed my kids weren't being treated properly. Low and behold!!! I took my kids to another place for a second opinion, one of them told only had 2 cavities. Turns out has more than the dentist could count we were shown detailed pictures and the dentist was in disbelief we were told there were only 2 cavities. Mind you my child complained of discomfort multiple times only to be told to use sensodine. I feel ever since Dr Carter passed this whole practice including reception has done down hill! Now we are left with the repercussion of their neglect or lack of knowledge. Spare your teeth! You've been warned

I would strongly recommend this pediatric dentist! The office is so clean and colorful, and very child-friendly. The staff is incredibly friendly and great with kids. My son recently had his first visit, and it went so much better than expected! Everyone really took the time to make us feel comfortable. By far the best dental office in the area!

My children squeal with excitement when I tell them its time for us to go to Sweet Tooth. From the moment you walk in everything is tailored for children: great waiting room with fun kids activities and cute photos on the walls of other children posing and being silly. I really enjoy how interactive each visit it. The children pick their own floss flavor, tooth paste, stickers and even toothbrushes. I have a 2 and 5 year old and I am able to have both seen at the same time which is a huge win for convenience in my book. I find Dr. Erica's dental exam very thorough and I am given insight into baby teeth, adult teeth and teeth placement. The office does a good job with social media and my children enjoy seeing the office in silly costumes and photos the office posts.

My daughters teeth where left in poor condition, all they did for a cleaning was brush her teeth with a regular tooth brush. Tons of plaque and tartar left behind. Will not please!!!!!!!! Finding a new dentist. They act like they don't even care, when your concerns about your kids teeth!!!

My little guy had his first dentist appointment this morning and we wouldn't have changed a thing! All of the staff were friendly, welcoming, interacted with us and went above and beyond! The environment was bright and appealing to kids. They even write their little names on the welcome board! Robin took her time with us and even went on a hunt for paw patrol items after learning that he loves them! She kept reassuring me that he was doing a great job and showed him all the little tools before she used them. Dr. Erica was friendly, informative and encouraging. If I could give 10 start I would! Thank you Sweet Tooth team for such a positive experience for my little guy!

Sweet tooth was amazing. It was our first visit, and they were all so welcoming and nice. I loved that we sent in a consultation room first before we were brought back and just started going right into looking in my sons mouth. They made sure we were both comfortable, we knew what they were going to do, and asked if I had any questions. Sweet Tooth Dentistry is amazing, and all the staff was wonderful with my son, and they are so welcoming. Definitely recommend them if you're looking for a pediatric dentist.

Today was my daughter's first appointment and she was so nervous. Kept asking if it would hurt. Beth, along with the entire staff, went above and beyond to make sure she had a wonderful experience. By the time we left, she loved going to dentist and is asking when she gets to go back Highly recommend
