For nearly 15 years so far, Dr. Fitzgerald has been devoted to helping patients feel more confident about their smiles while also boosting their overall health and sense of self-esteem. She loves getting to know each new arrival so well over time she wants everyone to feel like they are valued and a true member of the Sweet Family! While in undergraduate school doing pre-med training, Dr. Fitzgerald was part of a research team in Anesthesiology. The head anesthesiologist had her do all of the surgeries during this time because she had a very steady hand, as he told her. While he recommended neurosurgery as a possible future career, she eventually chose dentistry instead because she liked having the ability to do very detailed work while constantly learning new things. Many years later, she still feels very happy that she made that decision because she always looks forward to helping patients achieve their dental-related goals!
After attending both the University of Arizona and the University of California, Davis for her undergraduate degree, Dr. Fitzgerald achieved her dental doctorate at the Creighton School of Dentistry. From there, she opened a start-up dental office in Castle Rock, which grew so fast that she realized there was still a lot she needed to learn about the dental field! To that end, she sought out the best world-renowned teaching centers, attending advanced courses with Partners in Synergy, the Kois Center, Progressive Orthodontics, and the American Orthodontic Society.
In particular, the Kois Center allowed Dr. Fitzgerald to learn a great deal about planning and executing complex cases with not only a high success rate, but a good long-term prognosis. She also came to realize how essential facial harmony was for the stability of natural teeth and new restorations. This led her down the path of pursuing orthodontic training and eventually airway/breathing treatment. She has attended courses to treat sleep apnea and sleep-disordered breathing, both in children and adults.
A Tucson native, Dr. Fitzgerald came back to this area from Colorado to be closer to family, and shes thrilled to be serving the dental needs of her childhood community today. Her oldest son Trevor is attending college in Colorado at the moment, while her youngest son Gavin is in high school and really wants a career in baseball. As for personal hobbies, she spends her free time doing lots of outdoor activities like skiing, kayaking, hiking, and gardening. Exercise in general is very important to her! Other interests include cooking, baking, painting, fixing things around the house, and learning new things in whatever ways she can.
Mariela originally hails from New Jersey, where she attended dental school. Today, her career in this field spans over five years. She loves her job because everyone in the dental office shares the same vision, which creates an amazing family environment where the entire team looks out for one another. At home, Mariela is happily married and is the proud mom of three rescue dogs. Away from work, you can typically find her reading a good book or playing with the pups!
Our dental office is conveniently located off of I-10 near the Quarry Pines Golf Club. Take exit 246 and turn onto N Cortaro Rd. Youll drive past the Continental Ranch Retail Center and take a right onto N Silverbell Rd. From there, just keep driving until you see our dental office, which will be located on the left, right past Coyote Trail Elementary School.

This is one of the best and most professional dentist offices I have ever been to. They truly care about providing the best most comfortable care for their patients. Melanie is AMAZING, I can not say enough great things about her. She ensured I was comfortable throughout my whole treatment while walking me through what was being done. She is so nice and personable. Dr. Fitzgerald is also great she makes sure you under your treatment plans along with what she recommends while making things optional. Overall great experience every time!

This is the best dental and orthodontic clinic in the country! I've been coming here for 3 years. I did 2 years of traditional braces and could never be happier with my smile. Dr. Fitzgerald is the sweetest, most caring doctor and her assistant Melanie is so friendly and helpful! Both are incredibly knowledgable. Mary at the front desk is always so cheerful and easy to talk to. All the staff treat you like family and never rush you to get in and out. They are very honest and always give good advice. The office is always spotless and very welcoming. Things run very smoothly here. I love coming for cleanings because I know I'm receiving the best care in town. I can't recommend this place enough. If you need a good dentist or orthodontist, look no further. All your needs will be met right here.

Mixed thoughts on this review, but feel it needs to be shared. The work itself and friendliness of the staff is there its not a place I would not recommend on actually completing the work. However, upon my first visit there I was immediately taken through more photos than I've ever encountered at a dentist. Was not told that the images they were taking were outside of my insurance plan up front. When I left, I asked if there were any additional charges, and was told there were none. Also as I checked out, I got the hard sale on an extra cleaning....which had me feeling like more like they were pushing the sale than actually needing the work. But, again my opinion. It just felt like overkill. A few weeks later, I received a bill from them for the work. This was particularly frustrating, because for the most part all my trips to the dentist have been a cleaning, a check up, and review of images once a year. I also do not carry a poor plan. But, this was an over the top amount of images taken and literally overkill. So my only recommendation I can make is get things 100% squared up before you use their service to assure you plan can carry the extra work. I did pay the fee to close out my bill, but I requested my photos to be transferred to me, as I can't use their service again, mainly because my trust was broken. Had they been truly up front on the costs above and beyond my plan, then it would not have been an issue.

I was very fortunate to find Sweet Smiles Family Dentist. My 11 year old daughter needed an emergency extraction and they had us in within the hour. Very affordable and super friendly. I highly recommend this place.

Allison is a modern day messiah of the tooth brush. Pain free and so relaxing you could sleep in the chair, I almost did. They are also very up to date on technology and masters of all things enamel.

Highly recommend Sweet Smiles for dental health. Their office is clean and everyone is friendly! I had a filling chipped off and wanted to have it fixed pretty urgently, I'm impressed that they were able to schedule me in the very next day. Dr Fitzgerald attended to me and I must say the whole process was excellent. I never like gg to the dentist but Dr Fitzgerald was very professional and gentle the whole time. Really calm my nerves, didn't felt any pain/discomfort and the end result is beautiful. Their charges are also reasonable. Amazing work Sweet Smiles! I will definitely be bringing my family in for their dental needs too.

Great Doctor and Assistant! They are very through, patient and caring! I'm recommending them to my family and switch to her. I went in for a second opinion and was very pleased with the outcome. I saved $1,300 On a treatment that I didn't need!
