Originally from North Syracuse, New York, Dr. Joseph A. Sweet earned his Bachelor of Science at the School of Information Studies (ischool) at Syracuse University. He completed his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, and his Post-Doctoral Certificate in Orthodontics from the Eastman Dental Center at the University of Rochester.
Dr. Sweet is a Clinical Associate Professor at the Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at the Eastman institute for Oral Health University of Rochester, School of Medicine and Dentistry. He enjoys interacting in an academic environment and sharing his knowledge and experiences with the residents in training.
He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontics, American Dental Association, Northeastern Society of Orthodontics, New York State Dental Association, and the Onondaga County Dental Society.

Dr. Sweet and staff go above and beyond expectations to give excellent quality care to all patients every single encounter. The front end staff is very helpful and knowledgeable when calling for any need. got my top braces on, the doctor was very fast and professional, staff is very nice, highly recommend them for braces, I broke a bracket off and the staff scheduled me very soon and the women that answers the phone is very sweet

Had a consultation over a month ago with Dr. Sweet, everything went great. They said they would call me to discuss further detail about getting braces. A month later still haven't received a call. They ignored email and when I called the office they would answer and once they heard my name they would hang up. Very rude and disrespectful.

Dr. Sweet provides such excellent service to his patients. Our son had to have braces put on, and from the first consultation to the day braces were put on and continuously-Dr. Sweet and his staff have been nothing short of wonderful. We are very glad we chose Sweet Orthodontist.

My son has his braces done there . I couldn't ask for a better experience! From the front desk all the way to Dr Sweet it is such a joy every time we visit. I would recommend to everyone to visit Sweet Orthodontics!
