Dr. Sweeney grew up in Youngstown, Ohio. Like his father, he completed his bachelors degree at John Carroll University. Following in the footsteps of both his father and grandfather before him, he graduated from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry. Continuing his formal dental education, Dr. Sweeney completed an elective year of advanced training through the hospital based General Practice Residency at the Medical College of Ohio. The next 13 years were spent practicing comprehensive general family dentistry with an emphasis on cosmetics and complex restorative and prosthetic treatments.
Continuing his formal education has always been important, and Dr. Sweeney has been active with The Spear Institute, The Center for Exceptional Practices and multiple study clubs. Additionally, he participated in the surgical and restorative implant fellowship with The Midwest Implant Institute. The desire to continually advance his education led to the decision to return to academics and earn a masters degree while completing an orthodontic specialty residency. Dr. Sweeneys research regarding patient satisfaction with Invisalign was published in a leading orthodontic journal.
Time with his wife, Beth, and three children is what Dr. Sweeney cherishes most. He also enjoys golfing, fly-fishing, sailing, traveling and cooking. Dr. Sweeney and his family reside on the west side of Cleveland, where they enjoy being active members of the community.

BE AWARE!!!! DR. Sweeny does not know how to do Invisalign and cheated me out of $5800. Everything of course is Invisalign's fault, not his own work!! He is so unsure of himself when preforming orthodontic services. If I could give zero stars I would!!! DONT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE YOU WILL BE HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED!!!

Both of my daughters are patients of Dr. Sweeney. He and his staff are fantastic. They're very kind and go out of their way to make my girls feel comfortable during their visits. I especially appreciate the way Dr. Sweeney explains what he's going to do at each appointment so the girls understand their treatment and know what to expect next. Highly recommend!

Dr Agronin retired and the place has spiraled downhill. I adored Dr Agronin and his staff but will not continue treatment here with my last kid. New guy and his wife are ruining the practice. Staff turnover is amazing! That is the biggest red flag when you can't keep staff! Dr. Sweeney also tried to talk poorly about Dr. Agronin to me and that did not sit well! Who does that? Dr. Agronin is a Class Act compared to this guy who doesn't even know how to do braces! Oh and I I was practically begged to do this review by Dr. Sweeney to help bump up his bad review. I gladly accepted with the truth! Those that live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones!
