Dr. Cynthia Young is a top graduate of the renowned Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC and has been practicing dentistry for over 5 years.Prior to attending dental school, she completed a B.S. degree in Molecular Cell Biology from UCLA . She harbors much passion for the underserved populations and has gained much experience from her work with underserved children and adults. For the past 4 years, she has been an active leader with many organizations which serves the underprivileged populations domestic and to the far reaches of the world including Mexico, Honduras, Colombia, Guatemala, and Kenya.
Dr. Young grew up in Livermore, CA which is why she decided to establish her practice in the East Bay Area. She loves her community and enjoys a variety of things and activities such as going to First Wednesdays in Pleasanton, hiking, and working on her philanthropic project, 1000SMILES PROJECT.
In her free time, Dr. Young enjoys making custom cookies (check out her instagram @cynfull.sweets) and spending time with her husband. She also has a plot of land in a community garden where she is growing a growing a wide array of organic veggies.
Dr. Young believes in the principles and practices of conservative dental treatments. She stays up to date with the latest technologies and strives to only bring the best of everything to her patients. She is proudly serving as a part-time UCSF Dental School Assistant Professor which allows her to be at the forefront of new treatments and technologies.She is passionate about her profession and believes that education of her patients is the most important key. One of her favorite sayings is, 'The power of a smile is such that even drawing a happy face on a piece of paper makes your lips turn up.

We put our patients first and treat each patient as the unique individual that they are. We work together with our patients to come up with a plan that will result in a healthy, beautiful smile for life!
Our office was built with the purpose in mind to provide you with the best care possible in this day and age. We put thought into every aspect of your health from x-ray technology, to the types of materials we use, to how we sterilize instruments that go in your mouth, all the way down to the quality of water we use!

I have been going here for about a year. I have been very happy with my experience every time. The office is clean and comfortable. Dr Young is friendly, informative and makes the visit great. She is very thorough and seems enthusiastic and passionate about her care.

Dr. Cynthia Young is GREAT. I highly recommend her excellent work. She's a go-getter fresh out of dental school. I was impressed with Dr. Young's work ethic and enthusiasm for building her business. Dr. Young's practice incorporates 10 essentials for a successful dental practice, listed below. Go see her! 1. Good communication - Dr. Young kept me informed and answered questions every step of the way. 2. Positive attitude - Dr. Young was upbeat and open. 3. Clean office and clean technique - The office was beautiful and clean, and the way Dr. Young worked was great. She gave me these little sunglasses to dim the bright lights and there was no water or tooth gunk flying around. 4. Friendly staff - Taylor, Dr. Young's assistant, made me feel welcome immediately, and she was bright and efficient. 5. Thorough work with minimal pain - Dr. Young checked out my entire mouth, not just my teeth and gums. More dentists should give comprehensive mouth exams. They see mouths more than anyone! Also, she checked in with me frequently during my cleaning to make sure I wasn't in pain. 6. No hard selling - I didn't feel like service offers were forced on me and Dr. Young's pricing is fair. 7. Transparent about process - I got to see all my x-rays and we had a useful discussion on the complete picture of my oral health. 8. Modern tools and fixtures - The office has great tech features, like the ability to wirelessly project x-rays on a screen patients can see from the dental chair. 9. Genuine care for each patient - Dr. Young truly cared about my needs. 10. Flexible scheduling - She offers weekend and evening appointments.

I visited professor (UCSF dental school) Young's dental office today. Dr. Young is not only knowledgeable but also very skillful. I was very pleased with the great experience. I really felt like they were being thorough in gathering all the information they could about my oral health. X-ray was taken right on the chair and displayed the picture on a big flat screen TV on the wall. It was really cool to actually see my teeth and understand what Dr. Young was explaining to me. Dr. Young was excellent and explained everything to me clearly and pleasantly. Dr. Young just opened her office for a couple of weeks. Her office is modern and they have bottle water, coffee and everything online. You can even watch a movie at your choice while waiting. Making an appointment is easy now. I'm very happy that I found Sustainable Smiles. I highly recommend this dental office to everyone.

Dr. Young is the best dentist I have ever had. She is very personable (a joy at every appointment), has the patient (me) best care in mind, and exceptionally detailed. She listens to patient and explains everything thoroughly and you don't feel rushed. She is clear, communicates well, and works hard to care for your teeth. She is sensitive to how her patients are feeling and tries hard to minimize pain while doing what needs to be done. She is also a very warm, friendly and genuine person. Dr. Young's and her staff are super nice, super friendly!!! Their newly remodeled office is very modern, beautiful, and feeling homey with great technology. Oh, by the way, Dr. Young is a professor teaching at UCSF dental school, so, you can count on her for the most advanced dental technique in this office. The office has plenty of parking and is at very convenient location near downtown Pleasanton. If you're searching for a dentist look no further! I highly recommend Sustainable Smiles to everyone who has teeth. Your office ROCKS Dr. Young.... Thank you very much Dr. Young and team!!!

Dr. Young is incredibly passionate about dentistry! It's amazing. I'm so glad I bumped into her at the grocery store and asked her how she was choosing watermelons. We got to talking, and she mentioned she just opened her practice. I needed an exam so I ended up going yesterday and Can I say WOWZA (both her new practice, and dare I say... her) Her touch was gentle, and my teeth have never felt better. She even redid a tooth that was bothering me from another dentist's work, and now it feels great! I highly recommend!

I finally found my family dentist !!!!! she was amazing, knowledgeable, and she took the time to explain everything and answer all my questions.
