Dr. Susan is an international speakerin the area of total health, the oral health and systemic health connection, and the diabetes epidemic in America. She also speaks in the areas of leadership, team-building, advanced case planning and acceptance, relationship-based target marketing, and growing healthy kids in your dental practice.
When Susan is not practicing dentistry she serves as a leader in helping her profession take their place in the U.S. health crisis. To help educate the public on the mouth-body health connection, Dr. Susan authored the bookBlabberMouth! 77 Secrets Only Your Mouth Can Tell You To Live a Healthier, Happier, Sexier Life.In addition, she is the co-researcher in anaward-winning study on detecting diabetes in your dentists office.
With all of her work in advanced dental restoration, Dr. Susan has never outgrown her love for working with children. She is the author and originator of theHands-On Learning LabKit for children and is recognized nationally for making a significant difference in childrens oral and physical health.
Susan feels it is also important to give back to our community. Dr. Susan and her team donate their time and care for people who are vulnerable, disabled, medically compromised or financially distraught. She is eager to speak before services organizations or promote childrens health with hands-on learning in our schools.
In addition, she writes a monthly dental column inHealthy and Fit Magazineand is published in several nationally recognized dental journals includingDental Economicsand theJournal of the Michigan Dental Association.
In 1999, Dr. Susan was recognized as a leader in professional ethics and was tapped into the honorary society of theAmerican College of Dentists. She also participates in the ethics and practice management curriculums at theUniversity Of Michigan School Of Dentistry.
Dr. Tracey Epley is a 2000 graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a 2004 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. She also received her Master of Science in Education from the University of Pennsylvania and pursued one year of intensive training in prosthodontics at Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio.
In her spare time, Dr. Tracey enjoys spending time with her husband Sam and their daughters Lilah, Madeleine, and Samantha. A music lover, Dr. Tracey enjoys harmonizing with her daughters in the car, having dance parties in the kitchen, and singing her daughters to sleep at night. She also enjoys cooking and reading.
Dr. Tracey is a member in good standing of the American Academy for Oral Systemic Health, American Association of Physiological Medicine & Dentistry, American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, Central District Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Away from the office, you will find Jean and her husband Jim enjoying the roles of mom and dad to children Landon and Amelia, and hanging with family and friends when she can. She is trying her hand at gardening both flowers and vegetables, and she enjoys cooking, crafts, exercising, and a good beer or going wine tasting. She loves to travel and her favorite places to frequent are the family getaways on Fife Lake and Higgins Lake.
Georgette has been a hygienist since 1993 and has been with Susan since 1994. Georgette says, 'It is truly an honor and a privilege that I am extremely grateful for. I have learned so much from Susan that has fostered growth in my professional career, as well as in my personal life. I am proud to be a part of such an elite team of professionals that expedites the growth and potential of each individual patient into life changing behaviors. The outcomes are amazing!'
Georgette has such a passion for the individual connections and friendships she has with each of her patients. She says, 'My profession has enabled me with the unique opportunity to buildlong termrelationships with people by seeing them multiple times each year. I look forward to picking up where we last left off and moving mountains with them!'
Away from work, Georgette's otherfull timejob is actively raising her two fabulous children with her husband. She enjoys gardening, decorating, volunteer work, cruising with her husband in their '56 t-bird, and oh yes....shoes!
Molly is our Marketing and Financial Coordinator. She is a graduate of Michigan State University, and received her bachelors degree from The School of Hospitality Business. She also has her MBA from Northwood Universitys prestigious DeVos School of Business Management.
Molly has been one of Susans patients since she was 4 years old and joined our team in 2013. I love being able to leverage my previous business experience for the benefit of the practice, and working with such awesome women. We are SO much more than just teeth!
She thrives on helping her patients feel listened to and comfortable moving toward their own personal health goals. 'Being able to connect with my patients on a deeper levelto truly help them achieve total health is powerful. Having this rare opportunity to change lives through an integrative approach to care, has energized and inspired me to be better every day for my patients and my family.'
Tori started her career in dentistry in 2003. Tori received her education from Washtenaw Community College, Lansing Community College and Ferris State University. Tori is a Registered Dental Assistant, Certified Dental Assistant and Certified Orthodontic Assistant. In addition to her position at our office she also serves on the board of the Michigan Dental Assistants Association, Central District Dental Assistants Society, the Lansing Community College Dental Hygiene Advisory Board and Michigan Dental Foundation Mission of Mercy Board. In short, shes a big dental nerd!
Tori loves our mission of treating every person with integrity respect and kindness! She realizes the dental office is not always someones favorite place to be but loves that when patients walk into our office, we treat them as family and make it our priority to help them obtain all of their health goals.
In her free time, she is raising two amazing children, Jalen and Jada. You can catch her on the sidelines of a soccer, lacrosse or a golf outing. She also enjoys traveling, visiting breweries and crafting with her cricut!

Dr Susan is amazing! Clearly loves her patients. Had a slight emergency and her wonderful staff were able to squeeze me in. An office that works together, creates a calm, professional, yet family feeling environment. Have kids? The "Learning Lab", is a GREAT educational tool, informing and instructing great dental habits!

We had an absolutely amazing experience with Dr. Maples for our two-month-old son's frenectomy. After struggling with nursing issues, we went in for an evaluation and we were able to get his tongue tie and lip tie revised on the same day. All of her staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcomed, informed, and comfortable. Dr. Maples and her team carefully listened to our concerns, and they explained the procedure in detail. They also provided us with detailed instructions for stretches during the healing process. We trusted that we were in good hands with Dr. Maples, and we highly recommend her to everyone!

I was definitely impressed with the knowledge, expertise and plans for my teeth. I was a bit overwhelmed with the pre exam and conversation. I think it was enlightening but there are things I still need to think about. What I've decided is that I'd like to take one step at a time. The most important issue is my receding gum line and go from there. When I see my doctor I'll discuss the sleep apnea and see if my insurance will cover this. I really appreciate all of the input I received from both you and Jean Voss. Thank you so much and I'll see you at my next appt.

I love this office and Dr.Maples. They have always made me feel like I am their number one patient, though I hear this from others also.I had some major issues from a prior dentist and a friend referred me. I was scared and was experiencing a lot of pain and work ahead of me. They went above and beyond to make me feel at ease, comfortable and to trust again. Words can not describe the professionalism I receive to the care from this office. I truly feel like family. And I no longer grip the chair at my appointments here. I look forward to my visits and the amazing care I always receive.

I have been a patient since 2012. I usually see Dr. Susan, however I needed to be seen and they got me in with there new doctor Tracy! Quickly at that I might add. My experience was wonderful! Just as fabulous as Dr. Susan! This pratice is one of a kind and hard to find in today's world. The ladies are genuinely nice, always caring and so good at there job! I will also add they offer miltiple other services besides dental work! Highly recommended!

I am someone who has had a severe phobia of dentists for most of my life. I have neglected my dental health for years and I have extensive work ahead of me as a result. I started seeing Dr. Susan Maples about a year and a half ago. I can say from first-hand experience that everyone at Total Health Dentistry care about the overall health and especially the comfort of their patients. They are all so very gentle and reassuring during the entirety of whatever procedure is being performed, whether it be a basic cleaning, filling, or even an extraction. They are 100% invested in the well-being of their patients.

Dr. Susan Maples is the finest dentist ever! The staff is superior. That office runs like a well oiled machine. Dr. Maples work is to perfection. My teeth have never been healthier or nicer looking. I have 15 crowns and 6 verneers, lots of dental work. I'm 64 and have had many dental challenges and since in her care in 1994, my teeth are so much better. She is honest, direct and understanding. She and her staff stay abreast of the newest technologies and techniques. They offers stress reducing therapies to assures your comfort. She pays attention to detail and she isn't happy until your happy. I highly recommend her and her staff, you will have the best dental experience ever.

Dr. Maples is one of the most knowledgeable and personable dentists I've ever met. Calling her practice, "Total Health..." is an understatement. She is a polymath of the sciences and as such makes the best decisions based on the best information. I learned much our visit, and even more from her book. The experience was also very smooth and professional. We got our baby's tongue and lip release taken care of correctly and quickly with great results. Highly recommended!

As a new patient, I appreciated experiencing the "new patient" intake process, which was a 2 hour visit. So worth it! The first hour Dr Maples, and Jean her assistant, and I met in a nice office to discuss my health and dental history, as well as my dental issues and what my dental goals were. I appreciated the time spent to get to know me as a person. I felt that helped form a relationship between us. The next step in my appointment.was in the treatment room where Jean took x-rays and photos of my mouth. Then Dr. Maples performed the best thorough oral exam I've ever ever had. She actually sat in a chair next to me as she clearly explained and identified the issues. She used visuals to teach me about issues with my teeth and gums. She showed me the photos of the inside of my mouth and pointed out where I need to brush and floss better. Dr. Maples actually took the time to show me how to correctly brush and floss. In addition to her professional skills she has a wonderful, patient, chairside manner, while still focusing on every detail. I left feeling very satisfied and comfortable with the dental improvement plan and with Dr Maples as my dentist. I want to mention that the front desk staff and billing office staff are very pleasant and helpful too.
