Dr. Susan Dennis is the founder and CEO of the dental practice, Susan M. Dennis, DDS. She is an authority on cosmetic dentistry and smile makeovers, which help people of all ages achieve the smile of their dreams. Hundreds of her patients have experienced the life-changing beauty of a more youthful, healthy and powerful smile. Her patients come to her state-of-the-art office from all over the United States. Dr. Dennis has achieved mastery level in Dental Implant Restoration and Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Therapy and has helped cure headaches for hundreds of people with her treatment therapies. She is a very compassionate and empathetic professional that understands dental fear and has perfected the recipe to get all of her patients profoundly numb and comfortable. The University of Michigan, the top dental school in the world, awarded The Vedder Society Crown and Bridge Prosthetics Awards to Dr. Dennis as the number one outstanding achievement as a senior dental student in Prosthetic Restoration. Dr. Pollaccia grew up in Macomb Township, Michigan. After she completed four years of graduate school, she felt the call toward home. She took that opportunity to relocate to the west side of the state, where the beautiful scenery captivated her. When Dr. Dennis offered her the chance to work with her team, Dr. Pollaccia jumped at it, feeling it would be a marvelous opportunity for her to work at an office where patient care is a top priority as well as having the expertise of Drs. Dennis and Fichter nearby as she grows in her field.
Growing up with a mother in the medical field sparked Dr. Pollaccias interest in health care. However, it was during her junior year in high school that the spark of interest turned into a roaring flame with a love of dentistry. Her high school offered a medical dental class. Dr. Pollaccia said, I soared through the material, fascinated by the many details of the mouth, teeth, facial nerves and dental diagnoses. To me, it became very clear that I would pursue the journey of becoming a dentist.
I believe patient education and communication are the most important factors in dentistry. The patient and I are a team. Both need to be highly involved in the treatment and understand the reasoning behind each procedure in order to achieve excellent results.

One of the things she loves about her job is that the most minute details can carry the largest weight when dealing with the oral cavity. Having a team that works around the care of the patient, while maintaining efficiency, makes for a calm and enjoyable working environment as she carries out her passion. She particularly enjoys aesthetic work due to the powerful impact it can have on a persons life. After all, our smiles are the first thing people notice.
Dr. Pollaccias family keeps her grounded. Her mother is not only the inspiration for her career, but also her best friend. I am beyond blessed to have such a supportive tribe who catches me when I fall and is always looking out for my best interest, she says. Though we are all so different with our personalities, we share the same type of humor. I know each time I visit home my belly will ache from laughter.
As the youngest of three children and with two older brothers, Dr. Pollaccia learned early on how to keep up. When shes not spending time with her family and their pit bull, Guido, she loves to work out, walk nature trails, read thriller and mystery novels and listen to new music.
Dr. Pollaccia has a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences with a Concentration of Pre-Health Professionals from Oakland University and a Doctor of Dental Medicine from Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine Illinois. She is especially proud of earning the Student Prosthodontic Achievement Award from the American College of Prosthodontists.
Dr. Fichters desire to become a dentist began when she was eleven-years-old. Today she gets the privilege of making a difference in her patients lives, not only by calming their fears, but by providing education to keep them healthy. Her reward is seeing patients outlook, confidence, and self-esteem improve because of the care they receive.
Dr. Fichter attended John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio, and graduated from the University of Michigan, School of Dentistry, followed by a one-year general practice residency treating patients with complicated medical and dental needs. This opportunity also set the stage for continuous improvement and education.
To keep up with the improvements, in the evolving field of dentistry, Dr. Fichter studies state-of-the-art treatments, including cosmetic dentistry, extensive dental reconstruction, dental implants, and treatments for periodontal (gum) disease. A significant portion of her continuing education has been post-graduate coursework at the Spear Institute for Advanced Dental Education. Here she has the opportunity to learn from some of the leaders in the field who are dedicated to transforming patient care. Dr. Fichter is also a visiting faculty member, and able to mentor and teach other dentists who share her goal of providing top-quality, state-of-the-art dental care. She enjoys this opportunity to inspire, change, and challenge other dental professionals to be the best they can be.
Born and raised in southeast Michigan, Dr. Fichter and her husband Tom, now live in Portage, Michigan and have three sons Matthew, Benjamin, and Jonathan. Dr. Fichter loves spending time outdoors, especially snow skiing, wake surfing, hiking, and scuba diving. In the summer, she enjoys weekend trips to northern Michigan. During football season you will often see her in the stands cheering GO BLUE! Some of her simple pleasures include seafood stew, her husbands chocolate cake, and great music such as Chicago, Doobie Brothers, and Barry Manilow. Her family is a top priority and watching her children grow up has truly been a blessing.
Hands down, the best dentist I have ever seen! There is a heart-warming gentleness about her that I have never experienced from a dentist before. The crowns are beautiful and fit great. I also have to say how wonderful the temporary crowns were - I had them for 4 weeks and this is the first time the glue stayed in place and the temporaries did not come off. Thank you so much for everything.
Dr. Dennis has a gentleness about her like no other!! Her kindness and heart I feel from her, when I am there, is not like any dentist I have ever met. You feel like there is love put into everything she does. To add to that, her attention to detail is nothing less than perfect.

I had not seen a dentist in over 10 years. I figured, why go when you know the news is gonna be bad? The staff could not have been more friendly or courteous, and did not spend any time trying to 'shame' me for my poor choices. I still have some work to be done, but I do not doubt that I made the right choice in my new dental practice!

I don't feel comfortable with male doctors so I really appreciate the all female staff. I feel safe and comfortable there plus they do great work.

I am beyond blown away by my wonderful experience with this place! Almost in tears with how happy I am to have found such an amazing dentist with amazing staff. I am extremely embarrassed by my teeth and have had countless terrible experiences with dentist appointments in the past. Today that has changed! The staff here made me feel welcome the second I walked in. They were so very kind and understanding and informative. I have two broken teeth and an infection and they were quick to pinpointing the issue and prescribing antibiotics. Amongst other very helpful tips and information about my teeth. On top of that, referring me to an oral surgeon just down the road and even scheduling the appointment for me! They are kind, professional, fast, and efficient. You will not find a better dentist in Kalamazoo County!

I had a very bad experience with a root canal. I decided to go to a Holistic Dentist and I am so very pleased with my decision. They have an Awesome Staff. Very professional, friendly always smiling. Doctors actually listen to you and are top notch. What a wonderful experience! Highly recommend! They get 10 stars!!

My visit was really fantastic. The office is beautiful and staff are truly incredible. It's like going to a "Spa Dentist". They took care of a bridge I had re- sectioned to be removed from another dentist 3 months earlier, and the oral surgeon had canceled my appointment. They took care of my pain and removed the bridge without having to schedule with a oral surgeon. These ladies really know what they are doing. Talented Professionals!

I completely agree with some of the reviews. I know that everyone has stated that they are very happy. The service provided was good. But I completely agree with a few who have mentioned that they add services without getting consent and understand how much is the out of pocket expense for the patient. I had my first appointment a couple of days back and it was for cleaning and a general exam. They took photos and asked me to pay $45 at check out. Second, they mentioned that I have infection and asked me to get swabs tested for a panel of bacteria which is not covered by insurance. I assumed that I would come back in a couple of days to know the results and get medications to treat the infection. They scheduled the next visit 4 weeks later and mentioned that they would review the results of the test during the next visit. If it was not such an emergency, I am not sure if this test was even needed, although it probably would help with my overall dental health. Last, most insurance allows general cleaning two times a year. Since I was establishing my care here since we moved from out of state a couple of months back, I requested cleaning as covered by the insurance. They did not clean and asked me to come over for another visit where they would go over a plan for a three visit cleaning schedule and will go over what is covered by insurance and what is not. Seems a like shady business practice just to fleece money in whatever way they can.

I came in for an emergency filling because my usual dentist office couldn't fit me in in time, and it was causing me a lot of pain. I was told I needed a crown after X-rays. First off, I was pushed to make a cleaning appointment the SAME day as getting a crown, when I had expressed it was just an emergency appointment and had a regular dentist. I was very off-put by this, it was as if the hygienists were working off commission and I have terrible anxiety so I did not appreciate the pressuring at all and I almost did not want to come back to have the crown put on. I was told I would be paying $300 something after insurance and I ended up paying over $700 for it and at this point I was just distraught over it and had to call my mom to ask for money to cover it. The only person who seemed to understand why I was so upset was one of the receptionists who after I payed told the other that I was good to go and didn't need to make another appointment for a cleaning because I was pressured again at the desk. Bless her heart. I would've paid $200-300 at my regular dentist. I'm writing this pretty delayed but it's because on top of all of that stress, I just went to my cleaning and found out the pain was actually coming from my wisdom teeth, which wasn't even mentioned at this appointment, because it was persistent afterwards and my dentist was extremely surprised I had to have a crown put on that tooth.. which makes me wonder if I really needed it to begin with.

My experience at Dr. Dennis's practice was one which took care of a poor bite as a result of eleven edges. My teeth were vastly improved both cosmetically and functionally. Dr. Dennis proactively improved my bite to alleviate further damage to my teeth. The staff is always congenial and accommodating which makes any visit pleasant.

Had a great 1st appointment yesterday I was expecting my jaw to be sore today but not the case! The kind and fun dental professionals made sure I had breaks and were super cognizant of the needs of TMJ pained folks. I do wish they could have written a referral for physical therapy that day, but I am looking forward to discussing my treatment plans in a couple weeks with Dr. Dennis. I'm sure she'll come up with a smart plan for my dental issues! I'm glad that I wasn't rushed and overwhelmed with too much at the first appointment like many dentists do- with X-rays, cleaning, and treatment plan. The overall experience was super welcoming with the tour of the practice and the beautifully appointed office. I felt like the office had great chi- and relaxing vibe. That combined with the fun but super professional staff made a good experience. Plus the view is awesome so fun to watch the birds! Thanks again~

Absolutely loved my first experience there. I called them at 5:30 one evening and spoke to Tyler he was so sweet and caring I told him how my tooth broke and he was able to get me in the next morning at 8am even though I had never been seen there. Once I got there for my appointment everyone was so welcoming and nice. They explained everything to you before doing anything and told you what it would cost. I have never felt so comfortable at a dentist office before and I am a nervous wreck when I'm at a dentist office but they made my comfortable and I cant wait to go back. Thank you for being able to get me in so soon and thank you to everyone at the office for being kind, caring and welcoming!!!
