When we started to outgrow our leased space, we were able to purchase our own building right across from our previous location. In 2007, we continued our growth with the addition of our first associate.
Susan Appleberry Widick is a lifelong Independence resident, graduating from Truman High School in 1986. She performed her undergraduate work at the University of Missouri, then attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. While at UMKC, Dr. Widick was senior class president and an instructor in the schools dental occlusion laboratory.
After graduating from UMKC in 1993 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, Dr. Widick enjoyed two successful years as an associate with Dr. Fred Knapp. In 1995, Dr. Widick established her own practice at I-70 and Noland Rd. in Independence.
Dr. Widick is a member of the American Dental Association; Missouri Dental Association; Greater Kansas City Dental Society; Independence Chamber of Commerce; Delta Gamma Social Sorority Alumnae Association; and Lees Summit Christian Church.
A resident of Lees Summit, Dr. Widick has two daughters who attended school in the Blue Springs School District. She is actively involved with youth programs in Independence, having served on the Youth Friends advisory board with the Independence School District; on the Board of Directors for St. Marys High School; and frequently shares dental health tips with area schools. She is regularly invited to discuss career opportunities in the health-care industry with area students.
Dr. Dobbs holds a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Missouri Kansas City and a Master of Science in Public Health from the University of Missouri. She has extensive experience in the dental profession in the greater Kansas City area, most recently as a staff dentist at Truman Medical Center Lakewood Dental Department. Dr. Dobbs has also served as an adjunct professor at UMKC, a health educator with the Missouri Department of Health, and a dental consultant with Head Start Programs.

Shell mesh perfectly with our philosophy of helping families maintain their dental health in a caring, compassionate and friendly environment.
The licensed dental hygienist is a key member of any professional dental office and were fortunate to have three of the best in the Kansas City area on our dental health team. Lindsey, Jennifer and Erin provide clinical, educational and preventive services that promote a lifetime of excellent oral health for our patients.
Jennifer Bell joined us in 2014. She is a Registered Dental Hygienist with a degree from State Fair Community College and is continuing her education at UMKC School of Dentistrys BSDH Degree Completion Program for Dental Hygienists. Jennifer is actively involved in volunteer work for dental health, church and the Grain Valley community. She and her husband live in Grain Valley with their two daughters.
Jenn Koehn joined our team in 2017. She attended Emporia State University before transferring to Wichita State University for hygiene school, where she graduated with her BSDH. After graduation, Jenn worked for over 5years in Wichita (with 4+ of those in public health). She is a member of the American Dental Hygienists Association and is licensed in Kansas and Missouri. She now livesKansas City with her husband.
Erin Dercher joined our practice in 1998. She attended the University of Kansas before entering Hygiene School at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. She is a member of the Greater Kansas City Dental Hygiene Society and the American Dental Hygienists Association. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Dan, and their three children.

Dr. Widick and her staff are exceptionally competent and professional. They show care and concern for their patients. As a patient, I feel confident that I am receiving outstanding dental care. I have been seeing Dr Susan for nearly 20 years. I highly recommend Susan as a highly qualified dentist to anyone that is need of one. She is extremely thorough and thoughtful, especially when the big issues arise. She helped me through a front tooth implant and I could not ask for better explanations of the options, what to expect, and overall care and compassion. On another note, the office Staff is always pleasant and very helpful.

Dr. Widick and her team have given our family excellent dental care over the years. She is wonderful with our kids and they all love going to the dentist! We have always been treated respectfully and honestly and I cannot say that about other practices I've been to in the past. We are truly grateful for Dr. Widick and her staff!

Dr. Widick's office is wonderful! As a person that hates the dentist and has had extensive work done - this place is perfect. They always listen and address any concerns while making you comfortable. I've been seeing Dr. Widick for 21 years now and her and her whole office have made being in the office since I was 5 super easy and comforting. As soon as you walk through the door, you are greeted by a smile and on a first name basis. If you are having a dental problem, each hygienist takes the time to listen and ease your worries instead of brushing you off. They take the time to explain what they are doing beforehand and check in to make sure you are comfortable instead of rushing through. I absolutely love the whole staff here and wouldn't recommend any other place to go besides here

Dr Widick is a genius. Been a patient here for 20 yrs. Probably wouldn't have any teeth left without these people. Had a chipped front tooth, and she fixed it in less than an hr. Can smile again!

Dr. Widick and her staff have been putting up with me for over 10 years now. They are always very friendly and accommodating.
