If the damage to your tooth is too severe for a filling, a dental crown is another common restorative procedure that we perform. Receiving a dental crown generally will involve two dental visits. During the first visit, our team will conduct digital imaging and may take a mold of your tooth. This mold is sent to a lab so that your dental crown can be created. Your crown should be ready in a few weeks.
During your follow-up visit, our team will remove any damaged surfaces from your teeth. We will then install your new dental crown, which will completely encapsulate your damaged tooth. Crowns are a staple of restorative dentistry and generally last approximately ten years.

Dr. David Frausto was born and raised in the Valley of the Sun. One of his childhood fears was the dentist. This allows him to understand and comfort his patients fears. He has a great passion for dentistry and patient care is his first priority.
Dr. Frausto received his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Arizona State University. He then attended Marquette University and obtained his Doctoral of Dental Surgery degree. Dr. Frausto is licensed to practice dentistry in Arizona since 2002. He completed training in an extensive program that only 1% of dentist complete.
Dr. Frausto moved to Prescott in 2003. He met his wife Jessica McClain shorty after moving. Jessica is a native of Prescott and grew up with a father in the dental field as well. They were married in October 2004. Dr. Frausto and Jessica have 4 children. Matteo, Giovanna, Luca and Nico.
Dr. Kim entered the dental field because of her passion and desire to help people improve their oral health. Having dental fear in childhood, she understands patients' fear and anxiety visiting dental clinic, and wants to ensure every patient she sees receive excellent patient care in a gentle and comfortable manner.
Dr. Kim and her husband, Roy, have one adorable daughter, Yebin who loves reading books and singing. Outside of the office, Dr. Kim enjoys spending time with her family, trying out new restaurants and strolling in the park. She is grateful to be part of Surprise Smiles Family Dental and is thrilled to serve the community.

This must be a new girl who cleaned my teeth. She was in a rush, she hit my gums several times with a sharp scraping tool and even pierced my lip with it. I was truly dissatisfied with her performance. I've had my cleaning here several times all others were good experiences,

After having an absolutely terrible experience at another dental office, I was referred to Surprise Smiles by my husband's co-worker. He said they were "amazing" and after my appointment this week I will agree that he is correct. Denise at the front desk was such a help in getting my records transferred and is just SO nice (like you just want to be her best friend :)). Dr. Armendariz was so great. She explained all of my options to me in a way I could understand and made me feel very comfortable with everything they did that day. I left the office feeling confident in the treatment plan they recommended and happy that I made the switch to this office. I would highly recommend their team!

I called early this morning requesting an appointment if possible today as I was experiencing a problem with a tooth. I had a crown placed on by a dentist in NY recently. The crown needed adjustment. Dr. Kim and staff allowed me to come in within half hour and Dr. Kim made said adjustment. Huge thank you for resolving the condition quickly.

I'm new to Arizona and had not had a chance to find a dentist yet.. my friend recommended surprise smiles when I had an emergency crown repair. Fantastic dental office! Bri was awesome and really put me at ease as she cleaned my teeth. Dr. Armendariz was friendly and knowledgeable. Denise was at the front desk and was very welcoming and efficient. The office environment is welcoming and the staff are great!

Excellent experience. The hygienist was very gentle, but super effective. This was the best cleaning I ever received! I also appreciated that the dentist was to-the-point and addressed my concerns thoroughly. Service was quick but comfortable. Highly recommend.

I have had a few appointments there at Surprise Smiles for various things from a teeth cleaning to getting a tooth pulled. Every experience has been fantastic! The staff is friendly and helpful. They take the time to explain things when needed. I don't ever feel rushed or like I don't matter. Dr. Fausto did my extraction and he did an excellent job of helping me to feel relaxed and calm.
