Dr. Mark Warner, Dr. Madeline Warner, and Dr. Charles Hoeg are excited to serve the North County community. Our desire is to create an environment that feels like family. Dr. Mark Warner was raised on the north shore of Long Island. He completed both his undergraduate and dental education at Tufts University in Boston. Following graduation from dental school, Mark headed off to San Diego to begin his career as a dental officer in the United States Navy. Dr. Warner has been stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, and Camp Pendleton. During his tenure in the Navy, he completed a humanitarian Mission in Fiji. Dr. Warner will retire from active duty in 2018 as a Lieutenant Commander. He will continue his military service as a reserve officer.
Dr. Madeline Warner is a second- generation dentist, following in the footsteps of her Dad, Dr. Charles Hoeg. Dr. Madeline graduated from Amherst College in Massachusetts. She received her dental degree from Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Warner was inducted into Omicron Kappa Epsilon, a dental honor society, valuing achievements in scholarship, professionalism and ethics. In 2013, she moved to sunny San Diego where she completed a residency at the VA.
Dr. Mark and Madeline Warner are high school sweethearts. Following their graduations from dental school in 2013, they were married. In October 2015, they welcomed their daughter, Shaylyn. Shaylyn is the greatest blessing and amazes them everyday. In 2018, the doctors founded Surf Smiles Family Dentistry.
Dr. Mark and Madeline are both collegiate All-American lacrosse players. Although their lacrosse careers are completed, they stay active running and biking. In their spare time, they love traveling, exploring San Diego, and spending quality time with family. They also enjoy taking their dog Cali, to the Del Mar dog beach on weekends. You may even see Cali make guest appearances in the office.
Dr. Charles Hoeg has been practicing dentistry for more than 35 years. After years of enduring the cold and snow on Long Island, Dr. Hoeg is ready to enjoy the San Diego sunshine. He received his undergraduate degree in Bio-Mathematics at Rutgers University before attending Farleigh Dickinson University Dental School.
Dr. Hoeg and his wife Laura have four children. Two of the kids live in San Diego, one in Boston, and one attends college in Baltimore. Dr. Hoeg can either be found at the office in San Diego, walking his Standard Poodle, Nahla, or cheering on his youngest daughter at her college lacrosse games.
Taylor brings top-level professional skills to our dental team along with enthusiasm and a genuine concern for providing quality patient care! She thrives providing respectful, and compassionate dentalcare to all patients.
Taylor was born in Jacksonville, Florida while both parents served in the U. S. Navy as dental professionals. After High School she followed in their footsteps and completed her Dental Assisting Program at SJVC. Upon graduation she quickly realized that the Dental field was her passion and continued her education, again attending SJVCs Dental Hygiene Program. Not stopping there, she is pursuing her bachelors degree in Dental Hygiene and will graduate in 2022. When shes not at work, you can find Taylor spending time with her friends and family, working out, being outdoors or out and about at a local coffee shop.

Surf Smiles is awesome because our whole family can go to the same dentist. We have four kids (7, 5, 3, and 1) and Dr. Mark Warner is great with all of them. We never feel pressured or shamed. This is a wonderful family practice! (Our kids also enjoy picking prizes and stickers at the end.) Scheduling is also very easy and accommodating.

Just completed a totally satisfactory and pleasant visit to Surf Smiles Dentists. Not only is the office absolutely beautiful, modern, and well-designed, but everything about this practice is modern and up-to-date. And the staff only compliments and completes the wonderful experience of going to this dentist office. The care and concern for patients permeates everything; all make you feel welcome and appreciated. The professional Denistry skills of Drs Warner are superb and they have hired the best staff including Tatiana at reception and Taylor whose "bedside manner" and hygiene skills are exceptional. No better dentist office in Oceanside, hands down.

I have always dreaded going to the dentist until I found Surf Smiles. The staff is very welcoming which makes the experience less intimidating. Dr. Warner is great, and always ensures that my daughter and I are comfortable and pain free throughout the visit.

I really love coming here, Dr. Warner and the dental assistants are so patient with my daughters and so nice. They are understanding when you have to bring in your kids with you. I highly recommend coming here!

Best Experience. Dr. Warner explained everything and walked me through everything as he went. He was honest and very happy personable. Everyone I've met in the office I've met so far remembers me and I don't feel like just another patient. They're also very flexible and work with me being I'm a stay at home mom.

The best dental office! Our son has autism and experiences a lot of anxiety surrounding appointments, Dr. Warner and his staff worked with our family to provide the most welcoming, stress free and successful appointment for him! I had such a great first experience at their office! I'm not a fan of going to the dentist and they made the whole experience enjoyable. Taylor gave me hands down the best dental cleaning I've ever had and Dr. Mark did a great job explaining everything and totally put me at ease. I would definitely recommend this dental office to anyone!

We just had the best experience at Surf Smiles. I have been putting off taking my 7 and 5 year old daughters to the dentist for a few years, but I'm so glad I finally did it. I saw the amazing reviews of this family practice and appreciated that they had experience with kids. The appointment was quick and easy and Dr. Warner was so professional and kind. One of my girls kept closing her mouth and he was so patient with her and helped her through the whole process. Absolutely awesome experience. At the end they got to pick something from a treasure box and pick a sticker. They loved it. We can't wait to go back in 6 months.

If you are looking for a good dentist in San Diego county I highly recommend Dr. Mark, Dr Maddie and their staff! They were all super friendly and made us feel comfortable and like family the entire time! Dr Mark and Dr Maddie are even fellow New Yorkers like myself! So happy we found our forever dentists!

My husband and I have both had excellent experiences with cleanings at Surf Smiles Dentistry, especially with Dr. Madeline Warner who is always super friendly and helpful. SSD is conveniently located in a quaint business park and the office itself is spacious, clean, and welcoming. We highly recommend booking an appointment with them if you are looking for a new dentist.
