I am very passionate about helping others, and I feel incredibly blessed to be in a profession where I am able to improve the lives of children by providing them with exceptional oral health care. For the past 20years, I have enjoyed the reward found in knowing that I am doing my best to help children receive the high level of care that their oral health deserves and needs. When I decided long ago that I wanted to be a dentist, I knew that it would be the perfect way for me to combine my passion for helping others with my skillful and knowledgeable abilities. Every day that I have spent practicing has been a blessing, and I am eager for the many years of providing gentle, effective, and rewarding dental care to the little patients in my chair.

I believe that my patients deserve only the best, and in order to provide this to them, I spend many hours each year continuing my education through various courses, seminars, and study clubs so that I am able to utilize the latest and most advanced technologies and treatments. Some of the areas of study Ive completed are in basic life support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Oral Conscious Sedation Certification, the California Pedodontic Research Conference, and Scientific Sessions in the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, California Society of Pediatric Dentistry, and the California Dental Association.

My active membership in these professional affiliations is another important way that allows me to stay at the forefront of all the advances in trends, treatments, and techniques within pediatric dentistry.

Outside of the office, I enjoy giving back to my community in various ways. I have been on the Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC teaching staff as a volunteer Associate Clinical Professor since 1998. I enjoy teaching and properly training the next generation of pediatric dentists. I have also been working for Healthy Smiles for Kids of Orange County, a non-profit organization, since 2006 as a Hospitalist Dentist and Attending Dentist, where I am able to provide dental care for low-income families in my community.

I grew up in Anaheim, California, and I have been a native of Orange County for my entire life. I am married to the most wonderful woman I know, and she completes me in every way possible. She is my support, my rock, and my best friend. Together we have been blessed with three children, and they each make life fun and adventurous.

When not in the office, you can often find me involved in my childrens activities, such as Scouts, and various sports and extra-curricular activities. As a family, we enjoy spending as much time as we can together, whether its playing board games, bicycle riding, hiking, going to the beach, or doing small local trips on the weekend.

Amy has been married for nine years, and she and her husband have two boys, Mason and Jaxon. Amy loves spending quality time with her family as well as being outdoors, riding bicycles, and going to the beach.

Outside of the office, you will find Gina watching her two daughters playing sports. She also enjoys spending time with her girlfriends and family. Ginas passion is cooking and she loves spending hours in her kitchen.

At Surf City Pediatric Dentistry, its all about the children. We always address our little patients first and then their parents because we want to establish relationships with our patients that are built on trust, comfort, and fun. To do this, we use language that is non-threatening, and when we speak to our patients, we always do so at their eye level. Our practices foundation is built with a lot of Tell-Show-Do and Tender Love and Care these are our philosophies, and we strive to uphold them each and every day.

We know that many of our patients are fearful of the dentist, so we aim to make their experiences in our office fun and exciting. We strive to ensure that our atmosphere is fun, relaxed, and safe, and we pride ourselves on having our little patients looking forward to their next visits. Dr. Guijon and his friendly and accommodating staff always make the time to personalize the dental care to each family. We work hard to make sure every child is treated as a very important individual, and Dr. Guijon will always take the time to explain procedures and answer any questions that you may have regarding your childs care

We also offer safe, calming sedation options to our anxious patients. For instance, we are highly trained in providing nitrous oxide (laughing gas), oral conscious sedation, and general anesthesia. Our office is the only pediatric dental practice in the area that offers general anesthesia in both our office and at the hospital. Most offices only offer one or the other, but rarely both. This allows for more options available to our families. Your childs comfort, health, and happiness are our highest priorities, and we are committed to doing what we can to make sure all of these concerns are met with compassion, confidence, and dedication.
