Dr. Robert J. Herman grew up in Bartlesville, OKand is a graduate of Dewey High School. He is a cum laude graduate of the University of Notre Dame where he studied philosophy before completing his dental training with high distinction at the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry. Dr. Herman is aboard certified orthodontist andreceived his post-doctoral training and a masters degree in orthodontics also from the University of Oklahoma. He was elected to every academic dental honor society as well as graduate school honor societies.

Dr. Herman served as an orthodontist in the U.S. Navy before entering private practice where he was stationed in Okinawa and Virginia. His naval service was decorated with multiple Navy Achievement Medals, a Navy Commendation Medal and multiple awards. He finished his service as a Lieutenant Commander.

Dr. Herman is recognized as a visionary researcher, having published numerous articles in leading journals of orthodontics and in the newest orthodontics textbooks. His research led to FDA approval of new orthodontic appliances, and he is frequently invited to lecture at the worlds leading orthodontic meetings. Dr. Herman is extremely active within our community and is currently a Past President of the Tulsa County Dental Society. Additionally- he represents Tulsa ason the Board of Trustees andserves as the Chair of the Budget Council for the Oklahoma Dental Association. Dr. Herman chairs the Specialty Practice Committee for the Oklahoma Board fo Dentistry and is also an active member of the Oklahoma Healthcare Authority Dental Focus Group.

Dr. Herman has been recognized by his peers with numerous awards including being named the Tulsa Dentist of the Year. He has won the Sadoris Award, the Wynne Award, and the Presidents Award. Dr. Herman is a Fellow of both the International College of Dentists and the American College of Dentists. He is also in the Pierre Fauchard Academy and Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor societies.

Luan said her moving here was very scary. She faced so many challenges not knowing what to expect. She said she was very quiet and did not speak for several months. Luan graduated from Jenks High School in May 2020. She is now fluent in English, Zomi and Burmese. During her high school career she accomplished AP classes, was a part of the multicultural club and Key club; volunteering a lot to help others earn scholarships for camps and translating for people in her community. She has a heart to help others, her teachers and peers say. Her plans are to attend Oklahoma State University starting Fall 2020. She will major in biological and pre-medicine. Luans goal is to become a Pediatrician Assistant. Luans passion is helping others back in Burma. She plans on traveling back to Burma with a medical team as a missionary and giving care to those who need medical attention and can not afford care, like in her fathers position when he needed care and was not affordable.
