Dr. Amanda Buscemi, is a board-certified pediatric dentist holding Diplomate status in the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She is a recipient of the Richard C. Pugh award for scoring in the top 3% of examinees in the nation on her pediatric board examination. Dr. Buscemi was born in Long Island, NY and grew up in Coral Springs, FL. She attended the University of Central Florida where she received her Bachelors degree in Microbiology and Molecular Biology. She received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern College of Dental Medicine, where upon graduation she received the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Award. Immediately after, she completed her two year pediatric dental residency at Nova Southeastern University and Joe Dimaggio Childrens Hospital, where she served as Chief Resident.

During her journey doing her post-doctoral training at Nova Southeastern University, Dr. Buscemi received extensive training in behavioral management including advanced behavioral management techniques, including oral sedation and general anesthesia. She received an immense amount of training for special needs children. Dr. Buscemi trained at the Mailman Segal Center Baudhuin Preschool and developed a strong passion for treating children with sensory issues, ranging from children with mild hypersensitivities to children with severe autism. Dr. Buscemi and her staff are well educated on ABA, applied behavioral analysis, for dental procedures and strongly believe in the rights of all children to have a pleasant dental experience.

Dr. Buscemi also enjoys giving back to the community, organizing an event, which donates free dental exams and services for hundreds of children each year through the Give Kids A Smile Day program at Nova Southeastern University and Broward Hygiene College. She is also very involved in her local Dental Society where she organizes and runs community service events for children.

Dr. Divya Puri is a pediatric dentist and a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Puri was born and raised in Copenhagen, Denmark after which she moved to the United States to pursue higher education. She attended Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida where she received her bachelors degree in Biochemistry and

Molecular Biology. After college, Dr. Puri moved to sunny South Florida, where she received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine. Dr. Puri was the 2017 Pierre Fauchard Academy Award Recipient amongst her dental class.

After dental school, Dr. Puri moved to Connecticut to pursue a three-year combined pediatric dental residency and Masters of Dental Science at the University of Connecticut Health Center and Connecticut Medical Childrens Center. Here, she trained extensively in the clinical setting while also studying dental stem cells in the lab. Dr. Puri became the Chief Resident of her pediatric dental class, playing a key leadership role in the Pediatric Dental department.

Dr. Puri has extensive training in treating children of all ages, including those with anxiety, special needs, and the medically compromised. In her pediatric training, Dr. Puri placed a special emphasis on behavioral management and family dynamics, and she takes great pride in ensuring every child leaves her care both happy and healthy. In addition, Dr. Puri is highly skilled at providing all levels of sedation, including general anesthesia in the hospital setting.

Since she was a young girl, it was Dr. Puris dream to be a dentist. Along the way, she discovered a passion for working with children, families, and the broader community. Having lived, worked, and practiced in various settings, Dr. Puri uses these experiences to ensure that every child leaves her chair with a big, bright, happy smile. Dr. Puri loves all the Disney Princesses especially Jasmine and Pocahontas.

Dr. Joanna Theodorou is a pediatric dentist and member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry [AAPD]. She was born in Montreal, QC, Canada and grew up in sunny South Florida. Dr. Theodorou attended college at Nova Southeastern University [NSU], where she was a student athlete all four years and later received a bachelors of science degree in biology with a minor in business administration. She then continued her education at NSU College of Dental Medicine and received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. Upon graduating, she received the Oral Medicine outstanding case presentation award as well as the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Award.

After graduation, Dr. Theodorou remained in South Florida to complete her two-year residency training at NSU and Joe DiMaggio Childrens Hospital. There, she received extensive training in behavior management, treating patients with special health care needs, sedation, and hospital dentistry with general anesthesia. Dr. Theodorou loves connecting with her patients and instilling all the necessary oral health habits for children to develop as they transition into adolescence and adulthood. She makes sure her patients and their parents feel comfortable and at ease while in a dental setting. Giving back to the community is a passion of Dr. Theodorou. Whether it be local, serving as director for NSUs Give Kids a Smile, or international, volunteering and providing treatment on mission trips. When shes not providing care to patients, Dr. Theodorou enjoys going to the beach, reading a good book, and jamming out at concerts!

Dr.SashaAcloquewas raised in South Florida andis the youngest of five siblings.As the mother of two boys and theauntie to many nieces and nephews, she spends a lot of her personal time around kids. Dr.Acloquehas always been passionate about helping childrenbecome healthier and happier.

Dr. Acloque attended Barry University,where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.She thenobtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee, and while there, helpedplan Childrens Oral Health Dayone of themost significant events of the year in the community geared toward making oral health fun. She also enjoyed serving communities in need and volunteered regularly at numerous oral health events. Subsequently, Dr.Acloquepursued specialized training in pediatric dentistry at Nicklaus Childrens Hospital (NCH).Dr. Acloque received extensive training in oral conscious sedation, full mouth rehabilitation under general anesthesia, and management of patients with special needs and medically complex conditions. She was also an instrumental member of the craniofacial team at NCH.Additionally, Dr.Acloqueand her team utilized their fully equipped mobileunit to provide pediatric dental care to the underserved areas of South Florida.

Dr. Acloque absolutely loves children and cherishes their innocence, perspective, and charisma. She not only sees children for who they may become someday, but also for who they already are. She remains humble through service, and it is her lifes goal to create the most positive dental experience for each child, while nurturing their curiosity about oral health and emphasizing prevention as the most conservative form of treatment.

Sheis currently an active member of the Florida Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and a Candidate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr.Acloquelives in South Florida with her family and theirdoggy, Bella.When she is not working,Dr.Acloqueloves spending quality time with her husband and her boys,traveling, and reading.She also loves toeat sushi and ice cream (although notat the same time), and she always brushes after!

Dr. Karen Ben-Elazar is a board-eligible pediatric dentist who was born and raised in New Jersey. She earned a bachelors degree in biology with a minor in psychology at Rutgers University. During her undergraduate career, Dr. Ben-Elazar presented and published multiple research works through the honors program and graduated Cum Laude.

After making South Florida her new home, Dr. Ben-Elazar earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine. Throughout her dental training, Dr. Ben-Elazar has always had a love for public health, research, and volunteer work to instill good oral health practices in pediatric and adolescent populations.

After completing her DMD degree, Dr. Ben-Elazar attended an advanced training residency program at the University of Florida, Naples campus. During her post-doctoral training at UF, Dr. Ben-Elazar focused her practice in establishing conservative approach to dental care for patients of all ages through evidence-based treatments and patient education for prevention. Through her residency, Dr. Ben-Elazar also received advanced training in behavioral management techniques including oral sedation, IV sedation, and general anesthesia. Although she enjoyed her time watching beautiful Naples sunsets, she always knew she would return home east coast of Florida to give back to her local community.

In the office, Dr. Ben-Elazar strives to build a dental home for her patients through oral health advocacy and individualizing care in order to give each patient a positive dental experience. In her spare time, Dr. Ben-Elazar likes to spend time with family and friends, travel, hike, and relax at the beach.

Dr. Michael Maruri is a South Florida native and loves treating his hometown family and friends. He graduated in 1995 from South Miami High School, where he was active in varsity basketball. He pursued his undergraduate studies at the University of Florida, Gainesville, while graduating Cum Lade in 2004. There he completed a Bachelor and Masters of Science degree in Civil Engineering. Dr. Maruri then worked as civil engineer for Florida Power and Light. It was then when he decided to change career paths because of his interest in helping others. He wanted a professional career that would allow him to serve his community.

To make this goal a reality, he pursued his dentistry training at the prestigious Nova Southeastern University, College of Dental Medicine, where he graduated with honors in 2005, ranking in the top tier of his class and was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a National Dental Honor Society. He received numerous awards and scholarships throughout school. This achievement earned him a position in the Orthodontic Residency Program at the University of Colorado Orthodontic Program-Denver and it is there that he obtained her Masters of Dental Science Degree. During orthodontic residency, Dr. Maruri trained with top Orthodontic practitioners in the field utilizing the most modern techniques in which he developed a mastery of the most up-to-date methods and concepts that the discipline of Orthodontics can offer. Dr. Maruri has applied his craft to better the lives of hundreds of children and adults one smile at a time. In addition to treating hundreds of conventional cases with braces, he participated with Childrens Hospital Cleft Palate/Craniofacial Anomalies Board where he worked with surgeons to perform life-altering treatment for children afflicted with cleft palates and cleft lips. Dr. Maruri prides himself in thoroughly developing each patients unique case and furthering his orthodontic practice through new ideas, practicing the latest treatment techniques, and attending continuing education meetings.

When you meet Dr. Maruri you will instantly see he loves everything about being an Orthodontist. He is respected by his patients, their families, and colleagues as being a real down-to-earth person with an exceptional ability to achieve the best result attainable. Dr. Maruri is a very big family man and loves to spend time with his son Nico and wife Dr. Buscemi.

Dr. Johnny Gonzalez is a Miami native whose dream of becoming an orthodontist began when he was just a young boy. To ensure his passion was realized, he attended Florida International University and received his undergraduate degree in biology, graduating magna cum laude. Boston Universitys Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine then offered Dr. Gonzalez an acceptance into their dental program, where he would also go on to earn magna cum laude and a doctor of dental medicine degree. Dr. Gonzalezs dream finally came to fruition when Boston Universitys renowned orthodontics program selected him for their three-year residency.

Saray was born in Cuba and moved to Canada 10 years ago. She began her career as an Orthodontic Assistant in 2012. Saray enjoys working with children. She is married and is a mom to two kids. Saray is our Office Manager.

Natasha was born in Ecuador and eventually moved to New York for 15 years. She is bilingual in both Spanish and English. Natasha has 2 boys and 1 girl. She has been in the field for 20 years and can do both Pediatric dentistry and orthodontics. Natasha enjoys dancing, cooking, and working chair side with Dr. Buscemi.

Becky was born in Dayton, Ohio and moved to Ft. Lauderdale in 1978. She has worked as a Certified Orthodontic Assistant since moving here. You will find her assisting Dr. Maruri chair side, taking digital x-rays, impressions, doing lab work and most importantly chatting with the patients and making them feel part of the team. She is married to Dan and is a BIG fan of the Miami Dolphins, Heat and Marlins.

Paula is one of our New Patient Coordinators. She was born in Colombia and moved to Florida at the age of thirteen. She enjoys long walks at the beach watching the moon rise, spending time with family and working with kids.Favorites

Amy is one of our office staff. Amy was born in New York and moved to Florida 15 years ago. She has been working in healthcare for over 3 years. Amy will be graduating from Broward College in May of 2020 with an Associates of Arts Degree in Business Administration. Amy will be pursuing her career at either Florida Atlantic University or Florida International University in the Fall or Summer of 2020.

Liliana was born and raised in Santo Domingo, Ecuador. She lived in Queens, NY for 8 years before recently moving to Florida 2 years ago. She loves being a dental assistant she has been assisting for 5 years. Shes a foodie and loves trying new foods. She is a mom of two beautiful girls that she loves dearly and dedicates her Sundays to spending quality time with her family.

Jessie was born and raised in Florida. She has been a pediatric dental assistant for 5 years. She enjoys working with children, she is also in nursing school to become a pediatric nurse. She enjoys spending time with her son and her family.
