We are a multi-specialty practice providing all facets of patient care under one roof. Our team is made up of general dentists (who happen to be experts in endodontics and cosmetic dentistry), a pediatric dentist, and an oral surgeon, as well as top-notch dental hygienists. Our front office staff is made up of kind and compassionate people who love working with people and strive to make your experience an amazing one.
Dr. Arshia Kalantari graduated from the University of MissouriKansas City in 2006 and graduated from its dental school in 2010. He completed a mini-residency in sleep apnea in 2016 at UCLA. Currently, he is participating in the Spear Education Continuum of Workshops with an emphasis on complex restorations and cosmetic dentistry. Other distinctions include receiving honors in endodontics.
One of the things he loves most about his work is transforming smiles and giving his patients something to be proud of through cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Kalantari also finds it satisfying to relieve a patients pain through endodontics. He sees his patients as an extension of his own family and enjoys getting to know them through general dentistry.
Dr. Kalantari has been working with his mother, Dr. Farrah Zaery, at her Kansas dental practice since graduation from dental school. Although he grew up in Johnson County, Kansas, he fell in love with Southern California after his childhood friend moved to San Diego at the age of 10. The decision to move the practice from Kansas to California has been a good one; both he and his wife love both Orange County and Mission Viejo. Dr. Kalantari notes that the good people here remind him of Johnson Countybut that the California weather is much better!
When he is not at work, Dr. Kalantari will likely be outside with his family, enjoying the beautiful California sunshine. He enjoys anything that takes him outdoors, including golfing, hiking, surfing, and taking his twin daughters to the beach.
Dr. Mikaeya Kalantari was born and raised in the Kansas City area. She attended Bishop Miege High School and Truman State University where she earned her bachelor of science degree in biology. From there she attended the University of MissouriKansas City Dental School where she earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree upon graduation in 2010. Dr. Kalantari received the prestigious Dr. Iwersen award for her achievements in the area of pediatric dentistry.
Because of her love for the field of pediatric dentistry, Dr. Kalantari made the decision to advance her education and attend a post-graduate residency at Childrens Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. After graduating residency in 2012, she accepted a position to become a staff dentist and supervising dentist for the residency program at Childrens Mercy. During her three years there, Dr. Kalantari worked closely with special needs patients and frequently practiced dentistry in the operating room setting.
Wanting to make the switch to the private practice setting, Dr. Kalantari joined a group practice in 2015. She has enjoyed the last couple of years fulfilling the dental needs of children in the Kansas City area, but she is looking forward to making Orange County her new home. Dr. Kalantari now looks forward to getting to know the children of Orange County while helping them to achieve good oral health. Dr. Kalantari believes that the most important part of being a pediatric dentist is helping to PREVENT cavities, and not just treating them. She is an avid reader and stays up to date on recent research aiming to prevent cavities as well as learn about minimally invasive dental procedures that can help children to have a more enjoyable dental experience overall.
When not in the office, Dr. Kalantari enjoys spending time with her family, staying active, blogging, and traveling. She and her husband, Dr. Arshia Kalantari, have young twin daughters who make sure to keep their hands and hearts always full!
Dr. Farrah Zaery received her undergraduate degree in 1987 from the University of Utah Dental School. She continued her education at the University of MissouriKansas City, graduating from the dental school there in 1991. Other distinctions include honors in pediatric dentistry as well as both geriatric dentistry and cosmetic dentistry continuums.
She started a new practice in Johnson City, Kansas, right out of dental school. Dr. Zaery practiced there for years, and her son Arshia joined the practice upon his graduation in 2010. In May 2017, they decided to combine their loves for dentistry and sunny California by opening Sunshine Smiles of Orange County.
Dr. Zaery is passionate about her interactions with patients. She loves talking to people and developing relationships with patients that go much deeper than just teeth. Dr. Zaery enjoys meeting generations of families and hearing about their lives. Although it gives her much joy to help people and give them the teeth they have always wanted, she cherishes the people and personalities behind the smiles.
Dr. Zaery and her husband spent the past 30 years in Kansas, but she notes that 20 of those years have been working toward transitioning their lives to Southern California. She cites the weather and their love for family and friends here as welcome changes. Dr. Zaery calls being in Mission Viejo the perfect choice. She loves hiking, going to the beach, and spending time with friends and familyespecially her two beautiful granddaughters.
Professional and high level of service! The front desk made me feel at home. The doctor was on time, Very gentle and caring. I left the office with a big smile. I highly recommend the dental office for everyone!!!!

Love this dentist! They do excellent work and are super nice. They were able to remove the white spots from my teeth after braces. Highly recommend!

I went for a free consultation with Dr Zaery as I needed a second opinion on a crown that was causing me a lot of nerve pain for over a month. Dr Zaery closely listened to my story and concerns, offered detailed explanations and throughly answered all my questions. She was professional, personable and had a gentle touch when working inside my mouth. I think she went above and beyond the call of duty for a consultation because she fixed my issue and offered me a prescription to alleviate the nerve pain. I do not enjoy going to the dentist but while under her care, I felt heard, understood and at ease. The office staff, Claudia and Lauren were equally as patient, kind, efficient and helpful. I highly recommend this dentist!

Dr K was amazing. I've hated going to the dentist since I was a kid. So much I've avoided going to the dentist all of my adult life unless I'm in pain. After being a patient of Dr K he was so comforting and had such a delicate touch he changed my view on going to the dentist. He had a lot of respect and cared and had very good communication. I would recommend him to anyone.

It's always a pleasure to visit our children's dentist; the entire office and staff is special. They treat our children very special, and I am sure they treat every child special. Our children look forward to their dental appointment! We heard of our dentist through a mom with met at spectrum and we are so blessed she shared with us her experience with us, so we are also sharing with others!

My daughter is 4 and she hated going to dentist but Dr.Kalantari changed her mind. Dr is friendly and professional. staff were nice and friendly at sunshine smile. My daughter wants to back again and she's waiting for next appointment. I recommend this place for children.

I have a ton of anxiety going to the dentist a friend of mine referred me and my husband to Sunshine smiles of Orange County and I could rate them a hundred!! Five stars does not do it them justice!! The time the expertise the review of my mouth and What needs to get done the kindness from both doctors and staff was exclamatory and just a breath of fresh air!
