Dr. Sarah Mertz completed her undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of Jamestown with the goal of becoming a medical doctor. However, her plans changed dramatically after a life-changing dental mission trip to Kenya. When she saw the difference dentistry could make, she immediately changed her path and went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine.
With a love for lifelong learning, Dr. Sarah earned dental school awards in Operative Dentistry, Implant Dentistry, Periodontics, and the coveted Dr. Solomon Averbach Humanitarian Award (given to one student who excels at treating patients like family). With over 7 years in public health dentistry, she's seen just about everything, but her passion for treating people like family continues to shine through in her practice motto, Walk in as a stranger, be treated like family, walk out as a friend.
Beyond the office, she loves spending quality time with her husband, daughter, parents, siblings, and in-laws. She also finds joy in cooking and all things food, gardening, springtime mushroom hunting, asparagus foraging, running and exercising on her peloton bike, traveling, and enjoying the great outdoors.
