Dr. Eric Thomas was born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Queens, New York with his family until moving to South Carolina in Middle School. Dr. Eric received a Bachelors Degree in Biology from South Carolina State University with a United States Army ROTC Scholarship. Accepting an educational delay with the US Army, he graduated with honors in 1991 from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Eric served his country as a Captain/Dentist in the US Army Dental Corps stationed in Texas, South Carolina, Berlin and Heidelberg Germany.
Dr. Erics private practice, Sunshine Dentistry, is located in Cape May Court House, New Jersey. He is passionate about staying on the cutting edge of dentistry. Dr. Eric graduated from the prestigious Hornbrook Group for Advanced Cosmetic Dentistry. He prides himself on making all his patients feel comfortable while in his dental chair. He loves people and welcomes the opportunity to have small children to older adults in his practice.
He is an active member of the American Dental Association, National Dental Association, New Jersey Dental Association, and the Atlantic/Cape May County Dental Society. Dr. Eric educates local elementary students and participates in local health fairs on dental health. He also has a featured column in the local weekly newspaper.
Dr. Eric and his wife Stephanie are proud to make Cape May County their home. They have two daughters, Alix and Logan, and a son, Zack. In his spare time he enjoys sports, photography, making outdoor brick oven pizza, and spending time with his family.
Dr. Makram was born and raised in Egypt. He received his Bachelors Degree in Dental Surgery (BDS) from Cairo University in Egypt. He then moved to the United States to continue his studies and received his Doctoral Degree in Dental Surgery (DDS) from the State of New York at Buffalo. Dr. Makram is passionate about all aspects of dentistry. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Atlantic/Cape May County Dental Society and New Jersey Dental Association. He believes in the importance of continuous education and educating his patients to improve their oral and overall health Dr. Makram welcomes all his patients with a warm smile and ensures them of a comfortable visit.
On a personal note, Dr. Makram is soon to be married in the Spring of 2019. He now resides in Cape May Court House after joining our team at Sunshine Dentistry in 2018. When not at the office, Dr. Makram enjoys spending time with his fianc and family. He also enjoys photography, soccer, music and teaching Sunday School at his church.
When you come in for your initial visit, please be sure to bring your dental insurance card and arrive early to fill out your initial paperwork if you have not already done so. Please bring a list of any medications you are taking. If you need antibiotics prior to dental work, please take them as prescribed. If you are not sure if you need antibiotics, please contact your doctor prior to your visit.

It is recommended that a child have their first dental check-up by the age of 1. Informing your child about their first dental visit is very helpful. At your childs first visit, we will review the medical/dental health history form with you. We will get to know your child and help them to feel comfortable in the office by explaining what will happen duringtheir visit, and showing them the tools and instruments we will use to help keep their smile healthy.
We encourage parents to accompany their child during their visit. This gives you an opportunity to see us working with your child and allows us to discuss dental findings and treatment needs directly with you. A thorough head and neck examination and evaluation of the teeth and gums are performed. Radiographs (x-rays) are taken only if necessary. If no treatment is needed, the teeth will be cleaned and a fluoride treatment will be provided.

I just had the easiest cavity-filling and crown re-setting experiences of my life with the extraordinarily talented Dr. Thomas! He is so calming and humorous and proficient at what he does. I just adore him and his entire office staff. His new office in the center of CMCH is state-of-the-art and an absolute visual delight. Shout out to my charming hygienist Stacey who kept me calm and engaged in fun chit-chat before the procedure began. She and Dr. Thomas worked seamlessly in tandem to restore my teeth and get me on my way!

Going to the dentist is something that you don't look forward to, but Dr Thomas and his staff changed my thought process. Dr Thomas is a funny, friendly and caring professional. I have been so pleased with the work he has done for me. He takes his profession seriously and does everything to make you feel comfortable. Every staff member I have encountered has been soooo friendly, caring and very helpful. I highly recommend this establishment!!

I got Invisalign done here. My experience was incredible. I was welcomed warmly and was even given a welcome goodie bag. Dr. Kane and Kate provided remarkable professional care, informing me on next steps and what to expect. They were efficient and used high quality technology to meet my exact, individual needs. This is not your typical dentist office. At Sunshine Dentistry they go above and beyond to ensure excellent patient outcomes. I would highly, highly recommend this office to anyone considering dental care.

Seems impossible to get an appointment. Called initially trying to get our teen a routine teeth cleaning before school started (called in July), they said their next soonest opening wouldn't be until November but to call back and maybe they could see him sooner. Called in beginning August, they said they could see him Sept 1st - perfect right before school starts! His appt is supposed to be for tomorrow, they just called saying they have to cancel it. Lol. Receptionist was not apologetic at all.

Recently I had an unbearable infected, cracked tooth that had to be dealt with immediately. Dr. Tyler Kane, who is the newest addition to the practice, and assistant, Kate, helped me through a difficult two weeks to get that problem molar taken care of. Dr. Kane's calm, perfectionist (!) and empathetic approach to treatment made me feel confident that the situation would be competently handled. Compliments to the front desk and billing staff, Courtney, Susan, Marge and Penny for keeping things balanced and running smoothly. I am so very pleased with this practice as a whole.

I'm an extremely anxious patient that can actually say what a nice experience my treatment was at Sunshine Dentistry; honestly -- the best four dentist visits while on vacation one could possibly have :-) Dr. Tyler Kane was great, kind, personable, professional, and did great work. My children were new patients at Sunshine Dentistry and they had a great experience. The staff was so friendly and we felt comfortable from the minute we walked in the door. Their hygienist Janet was amazing and Dr. Thomas made them laugh. They are both very happy with our switch to come here. We were so happy that I made an appointment for myself before we left.
