Dr. Robert Point, lovingly referred to as Dr. Rob by our young patients, is passionate about serving the patients at Sunshine Childrens Dentistry. Dr. Robs favorite part of working at this office is the strong team dynamic and the sense of pride the team shares in giving quality dental care in a fun setting to amazing patients. As a father to two young children, he provides the same gentle care for each patient as he would towards his own little ones.
Dr. Rob received his DDS from West Virginia University School of Dental Medicine (Morgantown, WV) and attended his pediatric dentistry residency at University of Toledo Medical Center (Toledo, OH). He is a member of the ADA (American Dental Association) and member of the NC Dental Society. He provides the full scope of pediatric dental services at Sunshine Childrens Dentistry, and he treats under general anesthesia at New Hanover Regional Medical Center hospital.
Dr. Rob was born and raised in Wilmington, NC and is excited to finally have come full circle to return to his hometown. He loves spending time with his wife, Ashley, and his 2 daughters. When not at work, Dr. Rob enjoys doing anything outdoors and on the water including fishing, sailing, kite boarding, and kayaking.

Horrible experience today. I sat in disbelief as both the hygienist and dentist belittled my daughter for her anxiety. I'm sorry, but if you don't know how to appropriately talk to a CHILD, don't provide services to CHILDREN.

We absolutely love it here my almost 3 year old comes here and the staff is amazing they make him feel safe and happy!! Lani is absolutely amazing goes above and beyond to make sure we are comfortable! Thanks so much for all you guys do to make us happy and the experience great !

My daughter is severely autistic and has been only going to dr fry for 15 years she will not let anyone else see her due to her autism and her routines he retired this year I was not notified so I could make arrangements so bailey can get use to and find another special needs dentist and when I called the day before her appointment the lady on the phone was extremely rude to me mad said it's not her problem so now my daughter who dentist and surgeons are all gone after 15 years of same surgery and routine wh same doctors and dentists were basically screwed as far as her dental care goes now. Would not recommend this place they dont care about there patient's at all

I had what started as a negative experience with their billing department but I had to come and leave an honest review with the dentist. Dr. Fry is the exact dentist my daughter needed. As a child with anxiety around anything relating to the dentist, he truly has the experience, patience, and charm my daughter needs. I could not be happier with the Dr. Fry and the level of care he provides my daughter.

I'm so glad I found this dentist I live in Jacksonville and at the time no dentist in Jacksonville are taking new patients on Medicaid so I searched places in Wilmington and made phone calls and found this place and honestly everyone is so nice and just amazing. They were wonderful with my 3 year old. Today was our first visit and I'm definitely sticking with this dentist for my kid, my brother goes to a dentist in Jacksonville he is 4 and my mom wasn't pleased with how the people were with my brother no one had patients. The people at this place has all the patients. I definitely think it's worth the 1 hr and 20 min drive to see people who actually have the patience to work with your kid and are not rude or try to rush through the process, I just love how everyone here was so nice, and I'm very pleased by how they handled my kid o couldn't ask for better service!

This is a wonderful children's dentistry. I've never had a bad experience there! Dr. Dry is a great dentist, and so is everybody else there. Very body is so nice, and if you have some problems with your teeth they with either- figure it out themselves or They will give you advice on how to help your own teeth by yourself. 5/5 stars. I do recommend

Dr. Fry saved my baby's teeth. She was in nhrmc and the pediatrician was going to release us until i called Dr. Fry, he answered immediately and was at the hospital within the hour. He noticed a hairline fracture in her jaw along with obvious trauma to her teeth and helped the pediatric unit develope a new protocol for severe dental injuries based off of our trauma case. He determined that injuries such as hers required action withing 24 hours. I am so happy to have found dr. Fry and the immediate attention he gave my 1 year old helping her get the medical attention she so desperately needed. Without him she would be home with a fractured jaw and nothing to fix her. Thank you so much for helping us!

The lady who helped us (can't remember her name but I will be going back up there to get it,) prior to actually seeing the dentist obviously doesn't understand how to leave her horribly terrible attitude at the door. We had our 4 kids being seen and she was rude, snobby and acted like we were a complete and udder inconvenience to her. Our 12 year old even said she was rough and rude while she did her exam. You work in a PEDIATRIC dentists office. You should probably be able to tolerate kids a little better.
