We have our own independent in-house dental lab. Most dental offices send all their laboratory work to outside labs, but here at Sunset Family & Cosmetic Dentistry, Dr. Ubieta is utilizing an in house lab that fabricates most of our Crowns, Inlays/Onlays and Veneers.
Dr. Ubieta completed his first dental education in Havana, Cuba in 2007. Not long after, he relocated to Miami, FL, where he assisted several education courses before attending Nova Southeastern University (NSU) School of Dentistry, where he completed two years of a residency program in Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD), earning his Doctorate in Dental Medicine in the US. During these years of hard work, he was honored by NSU, with the Memorial Award Dr. Leonard M. Sakrais for Excellence in General Dentistry in 2012. A year after, his passion for dentistry led him to earn his fellowship in the ICOI and IDIA, and he founded his Dream Practice: Sunset Family and Cosmetic Dentistry and later, in 2014 his dental laboratory: Ceramic Precision Dental Lab. During the following years, he has continually attended numerous courses in different aspects of General Dentistry, completing more than 500 hours of continuing education and passing rigorous examinations being awarded Diplomate status by the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI) in 2016 and Fellow of the Academy General Dentistry in 2017.
Dr. Ubieta loves the opportunities that newer technology provides for taking great care of his patients. One area of particular interest is with CEREC crown technology and 3D images for better diagnostic. CEREC one-visit crown technology is an area where Dr. Ubieta has grown to love and his patients are so excited about the service he is able to provide. He is also proud to announce his 1ST Place award for Best Presentation in the last implant scientific event titled: Keeping Gingiva Architecture During Immediate Placement. Today he is one of the leading dentists providing the highest quality dental service in the Miami/Kendall area. Dr. Ubieta focuses on building long term relationships and providing quality care for the whole family in a happy, relaxed, and professional environment. His greatest pride is his family. His wife, 2 loving daughters, and son are the core of his life and professional success.

Dr. Gandul moved to United States with his family passed the National Dental Boards and to complete with outstanding results an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency program at Nova Southeastern University College of dental Medicine. During this additional training, he further developed his clinical expertise in clinical dentistry increasing high proficiency in all aspects of Dentistry including cutting-edge technology procedures such as digital dentistry and modern endodontics. He also, as part of his training, got exposed to special needs population providing care for those in needs and participated actively in mission trips abroad. Dr. Ganduls scope of practice is vast and he combines his excellence with the humanistic and humble attributes of his personality.
Dr. Gandul, in his leisure time enjoys outdoor activities and sports like swimming and tennis. He gives priority not only to his academic excellence but to his family which according to him It is the most important treasure.

I needed to go to a dentist that had availability on a Saturday. My sister recommended I start going to Sunset Family & Cosmetic Denistry, because they have Saturday appointments, and she told me they were great. I just needed a Saturday appointment and hoped for the best. Well, I am so thankful for the recommendation! The whole staff from the front desk, to the Dentist to everyone in-between, is truly amazing!! Everyone is so warm and friendly, they make you feel like family. I have been a patient now for about 3 years and I plan to be a patient for life! Thank you, Sunset Family & Cosmetic Denistry, for being great!!

I was referred by a dear co-worker and it was the best decision I ever made. Could not be in better hands. From the moment you step in the kindness and caring shows. The girls at the front desk are absolutely amazing Carla,Olga and Maria are just a joy to work with they will make sure to do their best to work with your insurance to try to get the most use of your coverage, they absolutely go above and beyond to make sure to work with you financially and all services are reasonably priced. Marisol my Hygienist was absolutely amazing very gentle touch and my deep cleaning was painless and impeccable she is truly an artist and absolutely loves her work and it shows the same can be said for Dr. Piedra I was really nervous about see a new dentist and a young one at that be he is incredibly knowledgeable and does not subscribe to making the patient get work done that they don't need and doesn't try to sell you anything, his experience shows and he is very straight forward and down to earth which was a breath of fresh air. Dr. Piedra answered all of my questions and broke down the work that needed to get done and why. But what really sold me was his back story on why he fell in love with dentistry. He also got my fillings almost perfect on the first visit so he keeps your revisits to a minimum, that in it of itself is a great talent. Man got skills with a drill and it was also a painless process and he makes sure to works efficiently and effectively. Safe to say they are stuck with me now. I am so happy to have joined this Dental Family, truly an honor...Oh yeah Dr. Ubieta is cool too he's the head honcho. Lol Thank you sooo much Sunset Family! You guys are the best! New patients be warned the Doctors here are handsome so they definitely take the fear out of going to see your dentist.

BEST DENTAL OFFICE EVER!!! They are so flexible and helpful. I don't think I've ever waited more than 10 min to get called. They were so helpful with my kids when my childcare fell through. The admin team and the providers are just soooo amazing! I wish I knew of this practice before. 100000000% recommend this office!!

Do not use this dentist, they charge high above others also they charge you 25 dollars for apportionments you cancel ahead of time but they decide it was not ahead of time, the customer service is horrible! The front desk ladies are the worst and treat you bad! Extremely expensive!! Don't use it
