We perform an oral cancer screening, gums, muscles, and joints that open and close the mouth. We will look at your mouth, gums, and bone that hold the teeth in the periodontics and take photos and x-rays as necessary. With this information you and your doctor determine the treatment that is right for you.

Yes, If your gum are bleeding, it probably means you are not brushing enough. Remember, brushing harder does not make up for quality time spent. In fact, on your oral hygiene brushing hard may lead into enamel erosion. Bleeding gums are not healthy. Healthy teeth and gums do not bleed when they are brushed and/or flossed!
It means you have gingivitis or periodontists. Gingivitis is acute of the gums and is reversible if treated and proper home care is maintained. Periodontists is a silent disease that affects the bone and tissues surrounding the teeth. Periodontists are not reversible, but it is treatable. If some gingivitis is not treated, it will lead into periodontitis.
It takes two working dental visits about 4-6 weeks apart. There are some planning visits prior to the working visits to determine what result you want and some follow-up bite adjustment visits. Porcelain veneers do not stain and are as strong as natural teeth. When properly placed they will not come off or break even when eating taffy, caramel, or corn on the cob. Like natural teeth, veneers may break also. You should still practice good dental home care.
The material typically contains about 50% mercury and even though the ADA has deemed it safe. It is still considered a toxic and hazardous material outside the mouth. In fact, several European countries have totally banned the use of the material. Amalgam fillings are very unaesthetic and because of corrosion typically turn dark with time. There are more aesthetic materials to use. Our office does not place amalgam fillings, unless it is asked by our patients.
This is what we call the filled to death syndrome. It happens when the tooth has become weak from the use of silver/mercury fillings and cannot hold up under normal chewing. This problem is easily corrected with Tooth-Colored Fillings or Bonded On lays.
Fees for our professional services may be paid in cash, personal check, major credit card or dental credit, which allows you to spread payments over an extended period of time. We dont ever want finances to keep you from receiving the dental care you deserve.

Dr. Kim and his staff were very professional and went to great lengths to make me comfortable and at ease. They explained to me what the procedure would entail and answered all my questions. I showed up early and was moved right into the exam room and they immediately got to work. I'm very happy and will go back.

Our family has been going to Sunrise Dental for many years. We couldn't ask for a more competent and caring staff. One thing I really like is that Dr. Kim will fix small things when possible so we don't have to come back. We travel from a distance so that is really helpful.

I have been going to sunrise dental of Poulsbo for 4 years. Dr Kim's services have been excellent and his entire staff is always so nice and professional. Should have been a red flag when a new patient is able to get in for a full routine cleaning within two weeks when everyone else is booked months out. First off was the worst cleaning I've ever had I can't even call it a cleaning they didn't even polish my teeth , I don't think the dentist even washed his hands before seeing me even though he just got done with another patient by the time I got home I felt sick and had to just lay down . The doctor said I had four cavity's which i found hard to believe that in just a year from my previous cleaning at a different office I was told I didn't have any and didn't even have anything to monitor and now a year later this new place is telling me I have four ! I was not comfortable with this so I went back to my old dentist and had an actual cleaning and both the hygienists and the doctor said I didn't have a single cavity that I didn't even have anything they needed to monitor . The only reason I went to a different dentist was because there was an insurance mix up . I will never return to sunrise dental. My insurance also confirmed that sunrise dental didn't even take full X-rays they just took snapshots here and there , so how on earth can someone say you have four cavity's without a full X-ray. Dr. Kim would also talk too fast and I had to keep asking him to repeat things and he would just blow it off he also wouldn't give me a chance to catch my breath every time I tried too he's like open! Worst dentist experience ever , I don't see how they are still in business!

I've been taking my family to Dr. Kim for over a year now including my 3 year old son. He not only accommodated me by finding a new way of taking an impression on me due to my severe gag reflex but has also been great with my kids at getting them used to the dentist. He is very matter of fact and strives for perfection. I value Dr. Kim and trust his expertise. Thank you for all your hard work and always making us feel at home!

Dr. Kim and his staff had made my visit quite painless and even somewhat enjoyable. They were very professional and shown great patience during my visit which took more than one hour and a half. I strongly recommend Dr. Kim for anybody who needs dental works.

After 4 weeks of waiting for a root canal, and calling to remind me of my appointment, my appointment was canceled the evening before my appointment. Super unprofessional behavior because it would be a "waist of time" and they will mail me a referral to elsewhere. A month of my time has already been waisted by them. My dental plan covers their office 100% due to agreements, and I will be calling them tomorrow to discuss what a poor choice they have made in dental offices to support.
